The determination to face any challenge is a common feature of both characters. If you like that kind of character is not discouraged, however bad the situation is, then you will like to know both Gatsu (Berserk) as Kenshiro (Hokuto no Ken).
While the settings in both manga are different (with HnK happening in a post-apocalyptic world and Berserk happening in medieval times), the overall plot and the nature of the characters are quite similar. Both Guts and Kenshiro are stoic warriors, who roam the lands dealing their own brand of justice and punishing evildoers. Their lives are also filled with tragedies, having seen several of their comrades die, as well as having their lovers taken away from them. Both take place in a world full of wars, both of mc’s are trying to get revenge on their old best friends who betrayed them, both mc’s are never relaxed, both mc’s are living in a depressing state and both of the mangas are gory and dark.
