These two titles have the following things in common: an organisation that fights with evil youkai; some of the characters have both human and youkai blood; the use of unique techniques and abilities in combat; and a male protagonist who slowly accepts his destined profession.

Both titles have to do with expelling demons and spirits.

Both of these titles revolve around characters who belong to an organisation that vanquishes demons. Both are action titles that depict the use of a variety of fighting styles such as CQC and spellcasting.

They have the same kind of drawing, pleasant humor, clever powers, battle tactics and big mysterious plot. Kekkaishi's battles are not as epic as, and it is way lighter than Fullmetal Alchemist regarding violence, but not by much. Kekkaishi has less characters too, but you'll love them just as much you'll love Fullmetal's.

Both these shounen titles revolve around an organisation that seeks to protect the world from demons and the protagonists who belong to that organisation.

Well...Kekkaishi isnt about shinigami and swordfighting but the manga has the same feel to it...a boy in black Bleach-like clothing fights against weird monsters...(like the main protagonist in Bleach)...he gets stronger and stronger, tries to defend THE GIRL who also happens to be very similar to the main female character in Bleach. There is a secret society (very soul societys like)...and there is the evil group... Sooo...all in all...very similar yet different. P.s. Kekkaishi is in my opinion the tame version of Bleach.

Both are supernatural Shonen manga where the main characters have to deal with spirits and demons.

If you like Manga that has to involve exorcism then you gonna love these two they have excellent story and the art is very good as well.

The main character was weak as a duckling can be in terms of their ability, though in Kekkaishi, the hero start off with a bit of basic. If you've read Kenichi, then you should read Kekkaishi. Both have similar master disciple relationship. Both have similar hero and heroine relationship. All in all, full of badassery.

Youkai and humans not able to coincide peacefully, letting hate for one another get there better judgment. A group of individuals come together to put a stop to the madness to maintain peace. Both male protagonist are very gifted and skilled not knowing the full potential of what difference their powers can really make. The two stories contain a great balance of adventure and comedy.

Shonen with protagonists who fight against supernatural forces.

Same author, feeling, humour, intelligent and interesting plot, awesome drawing and charismatic characters. Similar setting and supernatural theme.

The feeling is similar. A guy who doesn't want power for himself, but for the sake of friends and family, that later understands that there's more to it (like his entire city, or maybe more). You have much slice of life in both, and "boy meets girl". They're both pleasant and funny to read, and even if the battles aren't really on the epic side, you end loving the characters and the overall atmosphere. Yet they are good too, and more clever, tactical than in other shonen.

Both are Shonen manga where the main characters fight evil demons. Also, both protagonists want to get stronger to protect a female neighbor from harm. Also, both female leads look down on the male leads.

Both series are urban supernatural fantasies based on the occult focused on particular families/groups that exorcise evil and deal with internal political strife. These series are also fairly intricate and have magic systems with fights focusing more on tactics and strategies.

It's a bit hard to explain how they're alike, but I think that they're really alike in so many ways, from looking at them at a different point of view. But Kekkaishi is a manga that shouldn't be passed up either.

Both of these serialisations follow the constant battle of exorcists and demons.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
These action-oriented titles follow members of an organisation that exorcises evil spirits.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
These two serialisations primarily follow a male protagonist whose job is to rid of demons in the city they have been assigned to protect.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
Both revolve around characters who hunt evil spirits and creatures.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
Both feature a world in which battles occur between demons and those who have been trained to fight them. It is important to note however that despite sharing a similar premise, these two serialisations do not have the same feel. Kekkaishi is very shounen in its construction, whereas Necro Dancer emphasises bleaker and darker tones.

if you like Kekkaishi you will like KAITAI SHINSHO 0 both mangas are in the same magazine Weekly Shounen Sunday and the creator was once an assistant of Yellow Tanabe both mangas have its funny moments and great fighting scenes.

1. Both titles are about fighting monsters with a variety of unique ways. In Monster Colletion the main character uses Summoning spells to fight monsters while Kekkaishi's main characters make use of magic barriers in a variety of clever ways 2. Both titles have a large cast of non-human support characters with varying abilities

If you enjoyed the mixture of political intrigue, fantasy, and family that characterized the later portion of Kekkaishi definitely check out Ran to Haiiro no Sekai. Ran starts out very whimsical but eventually gains a more serious air reminiscent of the Urakai focused parts of Kekkaishi.

both are about youkai, have a similar setting and both main characters have youkai partner
