Satan does what Satan does. He had a backup plan after all and took possession of Abel.

Considering what everyone has been throughout this arc, it turned into a highly emotional episode. Both Yuri and Shiro have gone so much in their lives. This episode just added more emotional pain to their character arcs.

Yep, right in the feels just like I remembered it. Even more in the feels than it was in the manga thanks to that OST that started playing... The team really loves to play with our emotions because those photos that started to show up while Yuri was talking about her and Shirou becoming father and mother weren't even in the manga. They added those just to fucking spite us.

And ofc, yeah, Yuri sadly died.. just as the Shimihaza had said she would. That sense of defeat in Shirou's voice at the end after he got thrown by the yeti... god man. Everything about this episode was just amazing. Phenomenal even. I thought Orb was enough today in terms of pulling my heartstrings, but this did more than just pull on them. This episode fucking yanked them out with no remorse.

very sad episode, at least it aired the same day with the solo leveling mother episode which was the opposite of this and more heartwarming, although both of them were good and its nice they aired together

And she is dead. Probably was bleeding after the delivery of the twins, all that walking didn't help. Already knew this tragedy happens, but seeing it doesn't make it easier. Was a giant white monkey REALLY a yeti? You know most reported are black or brown. LOL

Sure blame the abuse victim instead of her abuser, same age old story. I really hate the order on this point. Poor Yuri, she doesn't deserve this. She would have made a great mother, I think. Those little clips of what could have been, damn it Kazue Kato, why do you have to play with our emotions like that? That episode ending, nice cliffhanger. Poor Shiro though, at least he can heal quickly.
Also we got to see Shiemis grandmother again, it's been a while. And Mephisto is being Mephisto.
Overall good episode. I'm surprised at the pacing (I quite like it).

they literally said they weren't doing that; they couldnt risk satan coming back AGAIN because of something that interests him. it's a solid reason, not what i'd have chosen but still it wasn't anything about how you read into it.

Such a tragic way the end a love story has only began between Shiro and Yuri, Shiro having a lot of regrets of not showing his true feelings sooner, and he could done a lot more for Yuri, if only Yuri could of heard Shiro's confession right before she died, I'm sure Yuri was happy imagining having them living together and raising the twins was a wonderful dream, how wonderful their lives would of been, and for Rin and Yukio having their mother by their side. Poor Shiro for losing the love of his life how tragic. I couldn't stop from crying is so emotional and absolutely sad. I really love this episode so much 😭 10/10

Today we had two mother related episodes that made you cry, one for happiness of the protagonist gaining his mother back, and here we got the opposite as we saw Yuri fainting away to the eternal sleep while protecting her two newborn babies with Shiro in front of her who did try but couldn't save her at the end.

Bad decisions and life choices all around. Along with some stupid stubbornness and pride getting in the way and leading to a foreseeable and tragic conclusion. Shirou is all over the place, obsessed with personal independence and freedom yet wanting bonds and fearing them just as much at the same time... he's so completely lost at the sea and in the hopelessness of the situation that he apparently didn't even understand that Yuri, being just an ordinary human and not an enhanced clone of a demon king with super regeneration, after such difficult labor where she almost died a couple of times needed not a walk across freezing snowy mountains but extensive medical care at any cost... guess Shirou only gains true maturity after and due to her death.

Shemihaza finally makes her move, even more fashionably late than Mephisto. Speaking of, are we ever let in on where exactly in the power structure of Gehenna the Sool stand? Especially in relation to the Baal. Excluding Satan, Lucifer and Samael are officially referred to as the strongest and the second strongest existence in Gehenna respectively, so it's probably safe to assume that the 2 Sool are below them in power, and Azazel is officially ranked 3rd among the Baal, so he's weaker too. What I don't get is why those 3 - Azazel, Shemihaza and Armumahel - got to be the Grigori, effectively the highest rank in the Order, while Samael, who for all intents and purposes technically appears to be stronger than them and the strongest of all the demons on the human side, is only a Honorary knight with the likes of Angel being allowed to raise his voice at him in public? It sort of doesn't add up.

Speaking of Arthur and the title of Paladin. Considering what the 3 latest Paladins were - Abel a clone or a son of Samael, Shirou a clone of Azazel and Angel a clone of Lucifer - maybe the Order should just face the facts and put being a clone or a direct descendant of a top demon ruler in the Paladin's job description already. That would make life easier for many involved and also make Rin not just qualify for the position but essentially the top candidate by far.

But back to the Baal for another moment. The extent of their full power makes me curious. For now, we know for sure that besides Satan, the planet-annihilator class demon kings who can destroy the world on a whim with basically a snap of their fingers are at least Lucifer who already outright threatened to do so and got his own personal Asylum complete with inhumane experiments just to soothe him and contain him for a little while, and Samael as he mentioned that repeatedly stopping time of the same area of space is much more dangerous than even the Gehenna gate fully opening because the former has all the chances to just break up the world. Which means, if he ever wanted the world gone, he has all the means he needs for that at the tips of his fingers. Are the other Baal also equipped with their own means to this end? Is Amaimon, for example? Or the 3 Baal that are on Lucifer's side? Or is there a substantial power gap in that sense between the 2-3 top demon kings and the rest? How many planet-scale ticking time-bombs are there anyway? Ah, questions, questions...

Here we are faced with this tragic end, this fateful destiny foretold by the perfidious Mephisto...

How can we fail to be moved by this episode? So much drama, so much suffering... It could all have been avoided. Shiro and Yuri could have lived a peaceful life, far from the shenanigans of the Order and the oppressive shadow of Satan. In her final moments, Yuri imagined a simple, happy life, at the side of the man she had always loved. But this dream was shattered, destroyed by disastrous decisions...

Their story is a heartbreak on so many levels. Yet despite the ordeals, they never gave up on each other. To the very end, they kept their faith in each other, facing the inevitable with hopeful smiles.

And yet, for God's sake, they didn't deserve such a fate! After all they had endured, after so many sacrifices, their kindness should have been rewarded. But why? Why did Yuri have to disappear like that? She who lit up this cold, merciless world. Why did she have to suffer so much? She who, against all odds, was prepared to sacrifice herself to protect those she loved. She who had broken Shiro's armour and offered him a fragment of the life they should have shared...

In Rin's place, I think I would have howled with rage at that impassive mountain, cursing all those who had precipitated the fall of that poor soul. But in front of my screen, all I could do was let my tears flow, powerless. Like Bai Yin in Karakuri Circus, Shiro experienced the worst pain there is: that of a man unable to save the woman he loves. Powerless in the face of the inevitable. It wasn't until he lost her that he really understood the love he was trying to smother behind his coldness and harshness.

But it doesn't matter now... All those dreams and hopes are just whispers lost in the blizzard. And the smile on Yuri's face in the ending is all the crueler for it. But her love remains. It will survive the test of time, indelible.

I'd like to thank Voln for the huge amount of work they've put into this fifth season, which is as masterful as it is emotionally devastating. The animation, the dubbing, the music... Every scene was a shockwave, a maelstrom of intense, heartfelt emotion.

I don't want to see this story come to an end. I would have liked it to last forever, but I have to accept the inevitable.

So, in your memory, I pay tribute to you, Yuri. Thank you for shining like the sun. Thank you for bringing so much light and warmth. Thank you for carrying on your shoulders a burden that should never have been yours. You will never be forgotten. Your mark will never be erased.

Rest in peace.

Here we go again. Yet another female mangaka trying to present a storyline where a guy gets friendzoned, cucked and duped into raising some other man's child as something noble and virtuous. No ladies, we don't want your sloppy seconds and we're not raising your mistake.

NOOOOOOO YURII!!!!!!! Shiro no!!!!!!

This episode hit the feels hard. I felt like Rin right now. As if I there watching everything unfold from the sidelines.

Satan really earned himself that name. He was literally crazy. Even confessed to killing Gramps and Grandma. I knew from the beginning but I’m glad Yuri found out. Rinka, aka Satan, was the one behind all of her suffering!

Shiro was really unique too, withstanding Satan’s possession. But he still got possessed. I was shook when he attempted to kill himself but it all worked out. I thought Mephisto would intervene but Satan withdrew in time.

I thought Mephisto would intervene with the Girgori’s orders too but he just watched and let Shiro go rogue with Yuri, knowing she would die. I guess even he thought her death would be best for the future.

Seeing the death flags as they attempted to run was depressing. Yuri attempted to breastfeed while Shiro thought up strategies. Then trekking through the snow while Yuri crashes out. Then Shiro carrying her while they talked about the hopeless future. They would have made a beautiful family.

I was not ready for Shiro’s reaction when the time came for Yuri’s demise. I figured he’d curse the kids since as if it was their fault. And boom, he did. I expected a Yeti to expectedly show up at the worst possible moments and boom, it did too.

Now Shiro’s lying injured and depressed, and the kids are defenseless.

Will Shiro step up and pull out his gun to save the kids or will someone step in to save him and help him realize Yuri’s wish of him being a father. To end the episode at such a cliffhanger. The sad ending turning on when it did let out the tears.

P.S, I wonder how Rin feels right now after watching his mother wish for Shiro to be their real father. Because him being upset in episode 2 and telling him he’s not his father/that he hates him was the one thing that hurt Shiro the most. This would be a good moment for Blue Exorcist to have a flashback on that to make Rin feel reflect on that. I’m sure the author didn’t bring it up within the next episodes/chapters

She named her demonic child after her nickname for Satan and her human child after her nickname for Shiro. A pretty simple naming philosophy.
Also, Shiro is technically Rin and Yukio's uncle, though half his DNA is 100% identical to Satan's.

Such a sad story for Yuri........ Her first appearance on season 1 didn't give us any impact, but this arc/season... She is the best female character in Ao no Exorcist for sure!
It's all Shiro fault u_u
If only he being honest from the start... ShiroxYuri marriage will happen... but their will be no Rin and Yukio then. Ahaha.
But then again.. Satan is already interested with Yuri since her childhood...
So Rin and Yukio last name is the dude name that take care of little Yuri before o_o

When Yuri tell to her twin child to be good to each other... It is sad that Yukio becoming an asshole just because he is jealous of Rin power.........

Shiro should just carry Yuri too u_u She is still on her weak condition and you let her walk during those cold environment... Those blood on the snow, it is realistic..
