Two episodes aired back to back today.

Damn, Haru is the type not to afraid of taking risk. Using their money just like to make such a big purchase. Nonetheless, it seems he has a plan or at least is confident in his role. Kirika also seems clever.

I hope Gaku can get it together. Guy seems way too nervous for his personality so far.

The end of the Trillion Game with Gaku and Mizuki, it feels like a pipe dream of his Herman Miller executive chair, going right back to their founding days. However, those days were a rough start as they have no business proposal plan, but just pretty much a fake startup proposal with Haru being the talk and Gaku being the standby to assist Haru, no matter where they go to attract private investors.

But for both Haru and Gaku to find themselves back at Kirika as the "wealthy connection", they really shot themselves in the foot suffering trying to give a sales pitch under her trainer, but Haru's chances and luck are just as qualified as Gaku, and Kirika knows their potential, even if they bluffed their way up to her game. And the strong Power of Friendship between both of them, more than just the usual bluffing hearsay, her investing 100 million in them, everything's real before Gaku's eyes to get their start-up formalized, but of course, it comes with conditions.

Not bad to partner with an enemy they know best, but how far will they go with her in their Trillion Game.

Kirihime's half reps..

Haru pulling up with some fake weights was also crazy and I like his ridiculous bluffs, yet nothing topped the power of friendship answer, lmao.

While Inagaki's plot can shine it's really hard to do Ikegami's striking character expressions justice.

"Because the power of our friendship is too strong" sounds like such a meme line that will suddenly have a ton of emotional weight after a major event happens.

Also, the way they casually namedrop actual companies like Microsoft, IKEA, Zoom, etc. instead of doing the usual "WcDonald's" thing fits the energy of this show almost too well

Haru is so unserious with all his bluffs and just casually asking for people to invest $50 million into their startup lol. But hey, he got the attention of Kirihime again and she invested double, so he and Gaku won in the end. The story seems pretty interesting so far.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

This was a good two episode premiere. I heard about the live action version of the Trillion Game on Netflix, so I was surprised that it was also getting an anime. The fact that the story is done by the same person who did Dr. Stone make a lot of sense as Haru is similar to Senku except Haru is guy that know how to talk which makes him a good bullshit/con artist. Gaku on the other had is the smart guy with communications issues due to social anxiety. His situation is very relatable to me as the guy who is good at computers, but can never land a good job. Gaku decides to team up with Haru in his Trillion Dollar game, but needs some serious start up money to build their business. They eventually land an eager investor in Kirika who is the super hot daughter of the President who owns Dragon Bank thanks to some clever bluffing.

I have a feeling that this will be a hidden gem that would be overlooked as we continue to see how Gaku and Haru build their business together.

Very funny but smart. These episodes keep getting a present time of them both being billionaires and then connecting it to relevance of events that happened. That chair was definitely a good investment. I assume Mr. Charisma wanted her all along, hence why kept saying $500K (this anime assumes the 1 JPY = 0.01 USD (it's much less currently) which is often true.) even though IT wizard said $5K and Charisma said $30K minimum.

Where the weights came from, who knows, but he did still do it while holding 120 kg which is A LOT, and to just hold it for the whole pitch and conversation.
Poor IT wizard, not the modest dream he wanted, but a perverted high profile richie-rich one.

This normally drives me crazy, but I got traumatized by a reincarnation shoujo I started watching recently where she did 1/5th reps (full range on all other exercises).
I really hate how damn normalized it is to not actually do a workout, that even animation have them not actually doing the exercise...

Get used to the flash-forwards, it leaves you guessing how Gaku got there. So unlike Haru, he still tries to emulate frugality even when he lives on top of a high rise.

Haru and the art of BS-ing his way to the top. The styrofoam weights were so outlandish, Kirihime pulled on them with the briefcase full of notes rather than get mad.

Honestly not a crazy story, some angel investors will throw out money if they like you over drinks ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You're investing in the founders, not just the product lol
I wish I liked this more, but I'd rather watch Silicon Valley if they're going this route.
Hope it gets more concrete with their business - you don't get mad money without an actual function service/product (cue Theranos).

this was very fun. in times where anime starts to look the same, it's great to have some new, fresh personality in seasonals. story is very intriguing and I like how self-aware of it unseriousness it is. hooked.

Haru know no fear or no shame. I've heard of fake it till you make it but this is in the extreme.

And I LOVE smart women like Kirika. There is no fooling her.

Really liking the series so far.

The flash forwards beyond introducing the concept is sorta jarring along with the translation of Ikegami's art into motion (looks like a softened JJBA GW kinda thing here) but it's fine. The more realistic stuff he does looks off with standard anime coloring.

But yeah, so far it's very reminiscent of early Usogui with the duo taking on these smaller scale (comparatively, ~700k USD converted is still a lot) plots is pretty fun. Very interested to see how it ramps up from here.

It's pretty interesting so far. And I like the comedy. Did not expect it to be comedy at all lol. I like the adult characters (+ a female char that at the moment still is more powerful financially - does not need to get rescued or other weird stuff). Char design is nice.

And no silly game where people die (and last one gets a trillion). This feels more like a Great Pretender kind of thing.

This show looks real cheap, but writing and direction is decent. Rating: 6.8. Meanwhile, Tower of God S2, which is actively incompetent in every way imaginable is only a tenth of a point lower at 6.7. Make this make sense, MAL.

It's a shame they've already shown the future and it's obvious that our heroes have already succeeded. Where did they get those fake weights? For now, it's still fun to watch, I like Haru's charisma the most.

Wasn't it a really bad idea to show off a timeskip at the start of the episode even though we've barely started the main story?
I thought it was a pretty poor choice.

It's a fun anime. Haru the bullshitter cum conartist. When he was about to say the amount to buy the chair, I was dead on that he used the entire seed capital.

Also, when she will invest, I knew it's at least 100 millions. I was laughing so hard at the fake weights. lol

@JohnDowson That’s how you know to never go by MAL scores. Another really great examples of how MAL scores can be misleading is Human Bug University. Great show with a low score here.

Haru is hilarious I love him ahahaha, the fake weights and ridiculous numbers he asks for, he's the one making the show really fun so far, also it's surprising to see the future moments where they succeeded and even got into top 10 richest men in the world, but it's interesting to see what led them to this fortune, and they already have a contract with Kirika now

Let me guess... Kirisime will add a small print clause in their contract stating she will own 90% of the company and whatever they make in perpetuity. An angel or a demon investor?
