THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
This series had such a promising start, and now we get to a point where the prologue of every episode is more entertaining than the rest...
one more to go...

This series went from decent to trash in such a short amount of time.

Also, the villain pisses me off to no ends... between his ridiculous antics and his grating voice!!! Not to mention how cliche things have become, even going as far as to have the final battle in a grand tower.

Blugh, terrible taste!!!

Errr how did the beautiful romance turn into episodes of gorey pointless fighting by the fantasy of some sick b*stard?

*sigh* what a let down of something wonderful

this started so magnificently.... what happened? Generic much (aside from art)?

I'm still trying to understand simply WHERE Ooba's motives originate from. I get that he's obsessed with money and pain, but to go through such lengths to capture and kill and distribute meds... Why?

Maybe i'm missing something, maybe I'm not... either way I want the feel the beginning of the show had.

I also want to know that but they prolly won't bother to explain it. The only good things left about this show are the art style and the monkey.

This is becoming all cliche, but I still love the art of this show. One more episode to go.

I don't even know why they've gone this way, it's totally weird and well it just doesn't make any sense in the first place... well I do feel sad because of Rei oh well, lets see what the final episode has to offer, although I don't think it will be much...

Shit . . . He ate Rie? And then died . . . Both had sad lives there, though kind of knew that neither was going to live, too be honest, I'll be surprised if anyone lives this (unless this whole series was just a dream or something retarded like that)

Looks like more than half the casts are dead now.

Ooba is one of the worst antagonist ever.

How?
He's psychotic, incredibly original, and has a very unique and iconic voice. He's actually one of my favorite villains, I don't know why everybody thinks he's a poorly done character.

This episode has some great moments in it. I really liked the part between Toshihiko and Jin in the beginning. The part with Kazuma chasing Hoozuki in a fit of masness was also good.

Sure, having the climax be in the tower, and, well... even calling it a "climax" seems a bit cliched, but I feel like the show does enough with the visual style of the tower itself to really set it apart.
Not to mention all of the fantastic, cinematic shots and the mind-bending writing and directing.
I feel like all of this manages to keep the whole thing pretty interesting and different, and it makes me wonder how people can find this, of all things, cliche.

The series started strong, and while it's changed these past few episodes, I still feel like it's stayed consistent in terms of quality, and is building up to some kind of big crescendo.
One more episode left.

It'd definitely be nice to find out Ooba's reasons...but as of now I'm just assuming it's greed and the hunger for power.

Kazuma...rest in peace. He's been through too much.

surprised, or maybe not so surprised, that people thought this was "cliche" and "generic" and that the writing's changed. where else did these people think a bunch of the narrative threads established early in the show were going to go? e.g. it was established in episode 4 that kazuma was a flesh eater, and that would obviously be a point of conflict except they hadn't addressed it until now. this show was never a one-dimensional romance, and the romance part was for the most part concluded by episode 10. i always forget how dumb weebs are.

That. That was a fucking Masterpiece. One of the best episodes I've ever seen in my life. This show would have been a definite 9 - 10 if the whole anime went on with this quality. But damn, this was amazing. There might be some cliched moments but the style and animation of this episode won me over. Incredible OST.

This wasn't a one-dimensional romance show from the beginning. The romance was just used as a plot device to lead to the entire Shokujinki plot.

Seems like it went full experimental, I don't even get what's really going on with all the trippy visuals but I'm enjoying it for that xD

You cannot me convince that Ooba is a good or even a decent antagonist. He is just written to act crazy thats all there is nothing deep or interesting about him and never gonna be. The only reasons for him doing all this being money or power is not s problem it just not explained at all. He just does even if it just you need to show it for me this show cannot capture it
