How I score things, I basically use the default meaning for each score, just like the one in MAL.

Anything above a 5 is positive (5 being not positive nor negative). Anything above 6 is really good anything above 7 is no joke.

10 - Masterpiece - Absolute perfection, my type of show. It has brilliant writing or at least style (Monster, Texhnolyze, YST/TTG, 3-Gatsu no Lion) and it uses extremely minor minor tropes. Tropes that are very small they can easily be overlooked. So small that it can even be hard to notice. Unique and masterfully created shows. The face of Anime. (Monster, Texhnolyze, The Tatami Galaxy).

9 - Great/Outstanding - Loved it completely, I might start fanboying all over it. It has brilliant writing and uses less tropes and cliches.

8 - Very Good/Wonderful - awesome, an absolutely fun and enjoyable show which I love a lot.

Alternate possibility, actually a 7 or 6 but due to it usually being part of a series which I enjoy, I become biased and push the rating up to 8. Durarara x2 Shou being a good example.

7 - Good - I really liked it a lot and enjoyed it so much, it was a solid show with a little flaws. Very solid.

6 - Fine/Not Bad - I like it and enjoyed some of it, nothing special. It's a step higher from being completely average but also a step lower from being actually pretty good.

5 - Average - full of Average stuff, nothing special, instead of having more flaws than positives, it's balanced. King's Raid being a good example, it has many many flaws but it's also sort of interesting in my point of view. I enjoyed some parts of it all while knowing it's actually really average. The lack of positivity is the major flaw

4 - Bad

3 - Very Bad

2 - Terrible

1 - Appalling/Disgusting/Horrifying, hate it with all of my heart, I find 0 plus points and I never enjoyed even one second of it or I just hate it so much, and don't care about the plus points because of my hate.

I also score things based on how much it impacted me.

Sometimes, the style is the substance.

Monster is the best anime of all time and possibly the best written media with the best villain in media of all time.

To be honest, I DO NOT consider Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei / Tatami Galaxy to be an anime. It's just another piece of art.

Yo, it’s been a while. I haven’t been really watching anime at all. I don’t know what happened I just kinda lost it interest in anime for a while I thought I would never watch anime again but I think I’m back. I’ll try to catch up to everything again. The only anime I was really watching was Chainsaw man because my friend forced me to watch it with him every week. Also I have a more accurate account on anilist so I probably won’t update this as much. Anyways that’s all thank you.

I would say it’s worth it but it’s very painful, but again the movie is really good. I checked out the first episode of Texhnolyze and damn I didn’t understand anything plus the first 11 and a half minutes were complete silence and music lol luckily there was someone in the comments that explained what happened. Not sure if I’ll be continuing it for now I guess I’ll try to watch Tatami Galaxy. I guess I’m a sinner I skipped the ED of Bebop I don’t really listen to EDs but I never skipped the OP that’s too good lmao. I usually skip the OP because it saves me time but the Bebop OP is too good to skip honestly. Man that first Mob Psycho episode was good so much potential for this season and I’m so hype Mob Psycho is so good man.

Yeah it really is great… The movie that is, the downside is the pain of watching the series before the Movie, and the series is garbage Imo. Today I plan to finish Lain and begin Texhnolyze, Avant Garde really isn’t for me. Yesterday I finished cowboy bebop, it was better thanI expected. Today I finished Vivy it got better, but I still wouldn’t say it was actually good, struggling between a 5 and a 6 right now.

Man I’ve found another incredible one. I saw it was pretty highly rated on MAL, and ranked 26 on AniList, so I was like this could be interesting to watch, so a few weeks ago I watched the prequel series, and I disliked it I gave it a 5 cause it was a pain to watch especially towards the end so I held up on the movie. Yesterday I decided to watch the movie (I just noticed I haven’t even mention what it was, it’s Revue Starlight Shoujo Kageki) and damn it was so fucking good, characters I used to dislike made me absolutely love them, the ending is so odd like it’s not even an ending yet I still love the ending. The fight scenes and music were top tier, it fulfilled everything the original didn’t. It’s kinda like a light mindfuck anime where the setting itself doesn’t even make sense but you still have an idea of what’s going on, it’s so odd and so good it became my 10th favorite anime, and 2nd favorite anime movie ever.

I kinda understand now thanks for explaining, I’ll try theorizing up my own closure to his character. I have actually tried to and it is quite difficult to find something fitting for Monster so I can see why you say it’s impossible. I’m Kinda Scared that I won’t understand Lain now, I’m 13 soon to be 14. But I do try to keep an especially open mind to anime like these.

I agree with pretty much all of it except Johan’s ending leaving us with Shock and Confusion, I can understand shock part, but I’d rather not be confused and have a good closure to the mystery of Johan. Yeah I can understand preparing yourself for an anime you believe will be good, I didn’t do that for my favorites except Fruits Basket and a little bit with Hajime No Ippo and Kaguya Sama. Btw what anime are you most hyped for upcoming next season, for me it has to be Mob Psycho most definitely if the 3rd Season is better than the last 2 then it is most definitely going on my favorites, I’ve had it really close for a while but I couldn’t decide between it, Kaguya Sama, and One Piece. I’m sure it’s the same for you.

It’s fine I would probably do something similar if you asked me about Clannad After Story. Damn a whole lists of sittings to watch Lain. About the opening my cousin really liked the OP she didn’t watch it but heard it and she did really like it, I liked the Monster OP a lot really got me into the mood. I just completed my 300th anime, who would’ve thought it would be an anime like Miru Tights lol.

Not sure how I feel about the ending yet tbh but everything before was amazing. Right now I think the “preferred ending” wouldn’t make much of a difference to how I feel right now. As for SEL episode 1 it’s been like more than a week and after consuming all that content from Monster it’s a bit hazy, but as of right now you were right nothing is happening and it’s quite boring, but it’s build up for what’s about to happen when Lain joins that other world right? The technology world or something like that.
