'Tis time for actual torture.

As Logan moves forward, leaving his past behind, he uncovers a chilling truth: the recent murder victims were all former ninjas whose secrets had been revealed. Fueled by grief and rage over the loss of his wife and son, he sets out to confront the mastermind behind it all, swearing to seek justice and bring down the organization responsible. After some thinking, Logan decides to call for some help from Mike Moriss, the officer from the other night. Logan asks for a certain location. Mike tells him to meet him at a restaurant later that day in order to talk. After some ''talking'' they get interrupted by a mysterious gang.

It's crazy to think how much skill it takes to stab someone so many times without actually killing them. And seriously, not a single camera in sight when Higan took down those guys? It's making me question just how safe that hospital really is. And those cops... totally corrupt and twisted. They totally had it coming. And the way Higan dealt with them without even laying a finger on them, just using the wind? That's some serious stuff. And that whole VR situation? I wouldn't be surprised if the person behind it is some kind of villain. I was hoping for some cool ninja moves, and Park didn't disappoint. It was an intense fight, but that's what you expect with Park. And yeah, the OST was on point too.

Is it possible that Higan's former ninja clan is after him?

That intro scene looked pretty cool. And the coldrain song is straight up fire
Not sure bout y’all but it’s nice seeing a guy strung up in a warehouse getting sliced day and night….in an anime at least. Also, cool of them showing real life vr setup than the anime vr headset stuff we see. And man, those Auza eats ppl mean business, lol. And the music playing during the fight was fuckin great.

The action continues to impress, which is definitely the main draw of the series. But it looks like this is one of those shows where everyone will have an egregious amount of blood, because the guy that was being tortured dropped gallons of it.

Honestly, not much happened, except for that exposition at the beginning explaining where these techniques and ninjas came from.

Facebook/Metaverse is gonna be a front for the ninja organization, isn't it? lol

The edge so far is through the roof but this show is owning the hell out of it. Things aren't looking good for Mike though, now that we know he's planning to retire soon...

Outside of the odd animation error on the gun, I am in love with this show. The action is smooth and the plot is slowly starting take form. Just how will Mike and Emma fit in this show. Also, I have to say the OP and ED are lit. This collab is nothing but fire. This may be up there with Mealltic Rouge for best non-sequel this season.
I haven't updated in years but now I have changed that. I'll be free soon.

@Coswi Agree. Incredibly entertaining. Shows that you can do a very simple story if your presentation and delivery are on point. Just an action filled romp with a spot of ultra violence on top

They don't overcomplicate things with the story, you can see who the bad guy is from a mile away. Not burdened by meaningless meandering dialogue when the fights are on either which is always refreshing in this day and age.

First of all, I've to apologize what I said last week that this shouldn't be in MAL. The first episode is not clear whether English or Japanese is the main language. When I watch the credit roll in episode 2, the Japanese language is officially the "main language" of this anime, thus making this anime eligible to be included in this website. And good thing that I decide to watch this in Japanese language from the start.

Now back to the anime, it's pretty straight forward
1. The protagonist's whole family get killed
2. The protagonist want revenge, thinking he has nothing left.
3. The protagonist makes new friends along the way of journey, he's not alone anymore
4. The protagonist find out that the truth is deeper and more complicated than he thought, he'll be face with difficult choices, which one should he save or kill, there might be even more twists like his family is still alive (he didn't check their corpses at the hospital).

Decent episode. Action cooked again something fierce in this episode, loved how dumb the ideas of seeing Logan/Higan take on some Uber-Eats looking delivery driver ninjas in a high-octane battle sequence with a cop just confused and trying to survive amidst all the chaos. Still not quite sure about the writing and storytelling standards since the little details surrounding the story didn't have me too interested yet but hey, it wasn't bad of an episode (still preferred the first one though). Episode definitely was slow to get going but it did get somewhat better towards the end in the restaurant. Again, no unnecessary dialogue and stagnancy during combat is highly appreciated like last week too, especially given the occupations of these combatants (minus the police officer involved). Hopefully the actual story and character writing can become a bit more interesting to balance out the popcorn entertainment of its fights soon to keep the series somewhat fresh for the rest of its airing since I could see a world in which I get bored of this at some point.

This was a good episode. The torture scene was brutal, and showed that Joe isn't holding back. The animation has been consistently good, and I really like the ninja ability effects. Kenjirou Tsuda is one of my favorite voice actors right now, and he adds even more menace to Joe's character. I'm interested to see how the VR / Tech company ties in with the ninja organization. Mike mentioned aliens twice in this episode, and I'm not sure if it was sarcasm or if aliens actually exist in this universe.

ngl i'm just tryna cut to the chase and see more raw unfiltered action and sakuga because of how good it looks. just need a little less ghosting. think the first episode was better than this one but tsuda kenjiro still delivering more cold lines. bro put up a good fight but that multiple arm technique was definitely something...
i like the amount of blood though, just wanna see more of what we got in the last episode.

This second ep left me speechless. Many things happened that made me lose track of time. Even so, I'm increasingly curious about ninja techniques (I forget what it's called. Ninpo or whatever. My memory is very bad.) When fighting, he seems to use moves that manifest the form of Ashura. That was the best fighting scene that was unexpected for me.

On the other hand, I'm confused about what to call Higan-san or what.

Oh brother I hope we don't get a repeat of JJK S2 where there will be endless complaints about ghosting every week.

A good follow-up episode to last week's awesome premiere, we see Joe setting out to find leads to help him exact his revenge. It goes without saying, but once again the action was incredible, the restaurant owner is going to have a heart attack when he comes back 😭 also thought it was funny how right before that scene, the Uber AUZA delivery people just nonchalantly ignored the fact that Mike had his gun drawn on Joe, nice little comedic moment through all the seriousness lol. And speaking of AUZA, it's looking pretty clear that they'll probably be the "shady evil corporation" that plays a key role in the plot.

Banger OP song by coldrain btw. 🔥

So the string of murders were former ninjas who have left the clan and got their cover blown. Having FBI Agents Mike and Emma being taken off the case indicates some type of coverup by the government. Joe finally reached out Mike after running into multiple dead ends on finding their hideout. Once again, we have an excellent fight scene break out at the Chinese diner in which Mike barley survived thanks to Joe. It's obvious that Auza is the corporate front for the ninja clan supplying them with cutting edge technology and allowing them to operate in the shadows without government interference.

Auza seems disturbing; taking the whole family thing to another level.

Higan going god mode, is he the only one capable of using those techniques or can others out of the picture also?

The old man's Chinese restaurant was reduced to rubble.
He was right to be wary of the FBI dude.

I have a feeling the ninja clan switched allegiance to the United States, but it's currently unknown with which government department they work with - unless it's not the government and it's that creepy VR company.

Unless I'm mistaken the attacker of this episode was hiding his twin(?) in his... backpack?! In that way he/they emulated Joe Higan's weird dark breath technique, but it was only an emulation. At first I thought he had mecha prosthetics, as I guess assumed everyone.

Aside from the obvious.. anatomy difficulties (is that guy made of rubber?) I wonder how they co-ordinated their attacks without the backpack guy being able to see anything at all. Perhaps via sound alone? Well, at least I hope they occasionally switched places before they checked out of this realm :)

As in the previous episode I still find it weird how the ninja organization manages to keep its existence secret in an era of near-omnipresent CCTVs and while dumping tens of mecha-ninja bodies on the lap of the authorities.

I get all about cover ups and conspiracies, but these work only when the participants are careful. But these guys are not careful at all. To keep such a massive body count a secret they'd need to kill or gag thousands of law enforcement and media employees. Which does not appear to be happening...

@MinxNight Perhaps certain ninjas are like the highlander immortals or vampires, dying only if you cut off their head? The dude was almost completely exsanguinated and he kept on kicking, taunting the MC to kill him.

Or the animators did not want to miss the chance to show (even more) blood. Tens of gallons have been spilled in just two episodes. This show should not be watched by blood bank managers. /s

He lost so much blood after one stab and still lived for 20 more. Are they trying to showcase his durability as one of the Avengers or just trying to attract edgy kids into watching this anime? I thought the anime would have more creativity regarding methods of torture but it was just straight-up stabbing and the conclusion was literally "kill him with fire". Maybe his ninjutsu is having an infinite amount of blood and the only thing that could kill him is fire.

I bet the Hokage (the leader of the ninjas) at the end is related to the former head whom Higan killed and now the latter will come back to end it once and for all -- just like Maki to the Zenin clan.

2 out of 5.

This episode was amazing, with the great animation and amazing fights.

Logan really is HIM, im glad he was putting that guy throughout, the one who killed his wife. He deserved every second of it. When Logan was stabbing him with all those knifes and swords, i found it weird how he was still alive. Maybe Logan was stabbing non vital areas and all the ninjas have training to endure torture?

Its nice seeing Mike and Emma, as the series goes on i feel there both gonna play vital roles.

The fight towards the end of the episode was spectacular with the new ninjas blades being able to cut straight through boy armor and being able to clone himself along with Logan using a new technique to sprout more limbs. I cant wait to see all the new techniques we will see throughout the show.

This show is still a masterpiece in my eyes and i cant wait for the next episode.
