It was a fine episode, seeing everyone in bright spirits in the finale is a relief without the usual drama.

Throwing a little bit more storytelling from Greta's point of view works okay I guess, although at this point, I didn't feel that much about much of the cast anymore. This anime felt just really average to me from start to finish, watchable but didn't excite me every week.

Klaus and Grete on their "date", and the case of a closed shop...what's the get-up?

Klaus out on holiday to the Lylat Kingdom, and the Lamplight girls finally get some much-needed vacation for 10 days after their first Impossible Mission. A feast for everyone, especially with Grete's meat pie, but the iconic shop that makes it is closing shop, and the truth behind it: the recipe itself is pressured to be purchased by a conglomerate and to be scrapped, which its chef-cum-owner disagrees. Disheartened, the girls make this their very own Impossible Mission against Mannheim Inc., but where to start since evidence is hard to find? From Grete's plan, that's how.

Lily's the perfect accompaniment for the "Little Red Riding Hood" part of Grete's plan to get Mannheim through the likes of herself, Lily, Monika and Erna to complete the deal. But that's the first phase, for the shop that Klaus once went to with his old Inferno colleagues, Grete making it her own personal mission to ignore his advice and go for gold, it's out of love. A snag in the operation hits critical point with the re-creation of the meat pie, and while only Klaus knows the exact ingredients, it came at the same cost as his teaching calibre, though it's not completely out of reach that he knows what the Lamplight girls are up to.

The mess is sorted out, along with the meat recipe, and the shop is back in business. Though for Grete's love, it's a collective effort.

That's Grete's episode in a nutshell...with the cliffhanger that CLEARLY warrants a Season 2 with Monika and Thea's confrontation.

The entire anime has been nothing but a massive disappointment. So much for spy CGDCT.

Though hopes are up for a Season 2...soon enough to continue this dumpster fire...?

Silly fun is finally at its end.

Don't know first thing about the light novels, but this anime was all around the place, and i mean ALL around the place. Before i started the anime, i was expecting a very different spy show i must say ...

Still, as i said, a silly fun, even ended on that note. I would not mind a second season of this tho.

Well thank God this catastrophe of an adaptation is finally done. The actual source material itself is not the best, but it’s a fun read and a pretty interesting story. All the mystique and interest of the world was completely absent from this anime. Feel turned in one of the biggest disaster classes I’ve seen.

As for the episode itself, like I speculated last week mainly anime original leading to the cliffhanger that is the end of volume 2. Seems like they set up a second season(hope not), but depends on how LN sales went.

Pacing was the biggest turnoff. Adapting the side stories after speed running volume 1 just felt really weird. Volume 2 was actually a pretty good adaptation, but by that point it was too late.

I really love how Klaus vaguely described the meat pie recipe. lol

It ended with the second volume, so the cliffhanger ending is expected.
btw, if you want to know what will be happening to Thea, Monika, Annette, and Erna. You can read from the third volume of the light novel. However, I would highly recommend you to read everything all over again from the first volume.

There is an upcoming event on 7 April. Maybe, they will announce the second season at this event.

For Grete being able to spend the day with her dearest has to be the best time ever. After what they accomplished in their debut mission the girls earned their vacation. Rich companies using underhanded means to gain things aren't anything new. Their target looks to be a total klutz when it comes to doing business. When it comes to bait for that guy Lily is by far the best one. Though have to say Thea's direct nature really did well to shut the villain up. Though there were complications its nice that in the end the shop was saved. Even on vacation the girls sure were busy. Overall a solid ep that managed to finish the series on a high note with a mission that required each of the girls to make use of their unique talents effectively. Really liked the team photo that was shown during the ending theme as well. Wow though didn't see that twist coming. Looks like we'll be seeing a s2 for this.

The last episode of the season with team photo in the credits. I feel a bit unemotional seeing the whole series. The first part was rushed, low funny moments in the slice of life parts and barely fond of these characters. High chances I won’t watch the possible second cour.

Another light novel adaptation which hit the inevitable bottom of the barrel standard, like most of them usually do.. right?

Start itself wasn't the very best but then they somehow managed to make things even more worse as the episodes went by, like a good bunch of these felt so filler-esque goddamn. This finale is no exception either.. recipe this, recipe that and the episode is over.

Anyways betrayal was the last thing this series needed, but yeah then they leave things off in this exact fashion. Second season will come.. not sure whether to continue or not.

a fun enough show, but kind of all over the place and confusing at times. pretty big cliff hanger that suggests a second season in the future. if there is one id be interested to see if there's any improvement with the storytelling or if it stays the same.

anyway id say this was a very average show. 5/10

you know the pacing is bad, when there is a Flashback inside the Flashback.
Also, why was the final episode a random story. This should have been an episode in the middle of the season.
Can't say it is a good show at all 2/10 from me.

This anime was really weird. Before it's start I was hyped that it would be really good but it fell off from the start. Improved a bit in the middle episodes, ep 11 twists were also good. Last episode again weird and ending the season with a cliffhanger bruh .

Good season finale episode with a cliffhanger. This show started a little rocky especially with the pacing and how the first impossible mission started with hardly any information on the girls only for it to end up dedicating about half of the season being flashbacks to the girls prior to the impossible mission, I wish they would've introduced the girls first.

The second half was much better and I enjoyed the Daughter Dearest arc with Grete. I'm assuming that eventually every girl will get the spotlight as there are 8 of them and some of them have had at least one episode dedicated to their backstory.

Beyond the irregular pacing (at least for the first half) I thought the animation was ok and the character designs good. The storyline did pick up and the last several episodes kept my attention. I also liked how the ED would change every few episodes and I think it would focus on the girl of which the episode was the focus of. I struggled between a 7 and an 8 (earlier in the season the score was lower for me) and I'm settling on 7/10. I will watch a 2nd season/cour if/when it is announced and I'm optimistic that it will improve on the pacing at least.

Not a bad episode today, as it felt more fun than usual. Overall though, a very poor adaptation of what LN readers said would be a pretty fun ride. The butchering of volume 1 just ruined it all that anything that came after that wasn't all that interesting to me anymore.

Cour 2 announcement probably happening next week, which isn't surprising considering the cliffhanger at the end.

anyway, I'm still wondering where the bad girls at? we only got ONE and if it wasn't for the way this episode ended i wouldnt really care for more, now i can't pretend im not hella interested since she may be #2 and a girl threatening another girl, is sexy as hell, i had to watch scene twice lol

The anime could have been so much better if they had adapted the actual volumes in order, instead of having half the season be short-stories.

And even when they adapted the volumes they rushed the story and just made everything look really dumb.

I will say it was a nice teaser for volume 3 in the end there.

But overall I'd just stick with the light novel that is much superior.

Klaus is gone for a holiday, and so is Lamplight having their much-needed break with Grete in lead. But still, this is an Impossible Mission in and of itself to lead in such a case to perfect their own objective...of getting a food recipe. Classic CGDCT at its finest.

This is because Klaus hasn't got a chance to try the famous food, which seems to be the racket much that Grete would go to such lengths to please Klaus, despite getting rejected the last episode. And as expected, the girls did a work to finally be able for Klaus to taste the food to his delight.

That's Grete's episode in a nutshell...with the cliffhanger that CLEARLY warrants a Season 2.

What? Was that? A random episode they helping some shlep keep his sausage shop open, meanwhile Klaus not even there? It says episode 12/12. Either they're planning a Part 2 or it's the worst ending I actually saw. And why do they keep dragging out the thing with Grete/Klaus. If he doesn't want to date anyone then that's a case closed. I hope if they do a second season they find some better writers.

I don't usually get bored by the seasonal animes but it was an exception especially in the first half NGL

The enjoyment factor for me in this particular show was very low & thats maybe very popular opinion imo -2 for that

I have mentioned it earlier as well & No matter how much they try to glorify Grete's character, there always feels something lacking and contradictry in her character and it annoyed me a lot when she got the more time screen than other characters like Erna, Monika, etc. in this part so -1 for that

The score for most of the part was pretty generic and the show wasn't mind blowing either and it didn't give me the thrills I usually expect from spy stories, Even the pacing was off sometimes & the story telling wasn't upto the mark, however that being said it was just a 12 episode series so maybe there is a scope that it may get better if there is another season? I won't mind another season especially after watching that cliffhanger but nonetheless this one was disappointing & genuinely uninteresting show

Even Klaus character lost its charm after few episodes however there were some good moments here & there and the "teamwork" theme really worked well for this show considering the members of lamplight were considered as washouts in their respective places

Most of the characters are fine and likable even if generic but that couldn't help me to stop criticising it

Overall Rating: 4/10, a D tier part

Although I am in for the season 2

The last episode is once again super weird in terms of placement. Why wasn't this shown BEFORE the actual mission? It was a nice introduction of Grete's character and enjoyable to watch. So aside from the placement, no complain on this one.

Now, for the show overall. I don't quite share the hate it gets, but I can't defend it either. It is probably the most forgettable show I watched this season.

For the good parts:
- The premise is interesting and so is the world building.
- The characters aren't all bad, either. Sybilla and Sara are my personal favorites, but Lily and Erna are interesting too. Grete got a lot better for me with that last episode too. Unfortunatly, I really didn't like her before. The diffrent quirks and talents manage to separate them well.
- Also, the "Files" - aka the fillers between the two main missions, plus the last episode, were pretty good (with Sara's being an exception).

Now, for the bad:
- What the hell was that story building? It seems like the episodes were just screened in the wrong order! Same for the execution of the spy missions. It was always "Something happens, then we explain what happend." Like in a court show, where you are presented with a crime and then get to know who did it and what actually happend. But this show is supposed to be a mystery-action with the spies being the main characters, not judges or detectives. This was surely the root of this show's failure and played a big part for my other bad points.
- Next up - Nine main characters is just too many to start with in a show like this. Hamefura pulled this off, but an Otome Game Isekai is a whole diffrent story. Even though the individual characters aren't bad, there is just too much going on.
- Klaus got way to much screentime for how boring of a character he is. You can keep a teacher bland, but not if he's constantly at the center of attention.
- The missions themselves were boring - most of this comes from the weird story build, but the villains weren't interesting either.

I don't know if the adaptation is to blame, or if the LNs aren't good. My guess is that it's both. There was a lot of potential wasted for this interesting premise. In the end, I'd say it's a 5/10 and among my Top 5 "Most forgettable".

As for the second cour/season - I will give it a chance. The overly stuffed main cast might resolve itself a bit, plus they might correct the mistakes of season 1. I hope they take the time and do this. It could very well become a decent show in the future, but I won't get my hopes up.
