Somali is such a kind girl, even defending Uzoi.

The episode is unique in the fact that it explored more of Uzoi's side and personality. Personally, I find her character behavior very human-like. I have to admit, this series does a decent job at building character relationships, not just with Somali and Golem. Somali is in a bit of trouble at the end and maybe someone will save her?

It's been 5 episodes and I still can't get over how gorgeous the background artwork is. I can't help but screenshot every time we get a good shot of the background visuals.

Uzoi and Haitora are finally in the anime! These two are great, and they both got solid and fitting seiyuus.

Finally episode where something interesting is actually happening. Human and a harpy huh ? I wonder whats his condition, it looks like it has something to do with the same harpy. Also did they ever thought about blood transfusion ? You know, not a slaughter .. just a bit of blood.

I know immediately that Haitori is a human, I don't even trust Uzoi a bit when she said he has head bird. I mean, the mask is very very obvious, even faker than Somali's fake horn hood.

Though brief both Somali and Golem ended up having quite the impact on the town and Kikila. The desert presents its own unique dangers as always. If anything Wine cup village's natural terrain makes it the ideal place for a way station. The custom of sharing drinks that will promise safe passage though was a curious one. Still what lay behind Haitora's mask though was quite the surprise. The desert journey sure presented an interesting challenge in the form of the sand shark while also revealing some rather curious creatures of the desert as well. The bond between Uzoi and Haitora though looks to be a strong one built over years of travelling together. Given the bond between them its not surprising that she will do what she can to save him even if it means that Haitora will hate her for it. Overall an interesting ep that while ending the saga of the desert town well enough also did well to introduce the characters of Haitora and Uzoi whose relationship is a close mirror to Somali and Golem. I sure hope that they're able to stop Uzoi's misguided plans.

Interesting episode. Another human was introduced and there may be a chance that more humans may exist.

So this is quite interesting.. Somali and Golem run into Uzoi and Haitora, a Harpy and a human. Now what really intrigued me is the mention of Uzoi's mother passing away due to a disease, I wouldn't be surprised if this same disease is now harming Haitora.

Good on Haitora for not agreeing with the plan Uzoi has. I understand how Uzoi feels, but it's not the way to go, please don't hurt Somali!!

I really like Uzoi's design and the final scene made it even better!

Finally getting to see a human, nice. Good episode again. Looking forward to see the explanation/backstory regarding the origin of this disease or curse.

I think he's dying because his body can't handle the transformation and the feathers. That might be because they're even inside him.

Things have gotten serious pretty quickly. The first meeting with Haitori and Uzoi ( whose design looks really nice) was pretty amusing at first and their adventure through the desert during the day was filled with action as well as some slice-of-life moments with setting up camp for the night, but it looks like the drama is here to stay for now.

It's surprising to know that Haitori is also a human, but he's got a disease that's slowly killing him and makes him look like half human and half harpy. It makes me wonder how he's ended up like this, so I hope the next episode explains this further.

Another thing that's worrying is that they both know that Somiali is also a human. While that doesn't seem to bother Haitori, it's a different story for Uzoi. In her desperation to save Haitori, Uzoi wants to kill Somali and use her blood to help heal Haitori. I hope that Somali doesn't get hurt next time. =(

Either way, the next episode can't come out soon enough. I really want to find out what happens next, even if it's filled with sadness and drama.

Everytime Somali meets with a new person, i smell danger in the air...

It is kinda fresh to see anime where human is the minority and getting exploited by other creature, rather than be the one who exploit others..

Try reading Spy x Family Manga ^_^
U will love it, i promise...

Damn these cliffhangers, so Haitori is a human with an illness. While Uzoi believes that killing Somali will save Haitori. Hopefully they find another way to save him so I can't wait until next week.

According to the power of illustration cover, Uzoi & Haitori shoud get along later with Somali & her dad. Bit of a drama right now though, but this shall not turn into a bloodbath

Loved the idea of a sand sea, this is both ironic and very original

What I really liked here is that you can understand every character's feelings, so it feels so reasonable. She wants to help her teacher, the one who has been there for her, their relationship is sorta like Golem and Somali, but older. So it's understandable why she'd jump at the chance. But it was also nice to see that he didn't want to do it too. Touching stuff.

Though not very likely, it would be a kinda interesting turn of events if Haitora's illness has to do with Uzoi being near him and the only solution would be for her to stay away from the person she "loves" the most.

Anyways, leaving that aside, it was another nice episode overall. Things took a bit darker turn this time, which is nice so I look forward to seeing how this issue regarding Haitora will conclude.

And on a side note, Uzoi has such a cool design and I would like to see more of her but please, don't hurt little Somali.

Man, watching 7 episodes of different anime for one day is tough, but I always save the best for last, and this was a great episode as always.

My favourite part was when Uzoi fully showed her harpy feathers... I thought she looked majestic (even if she was trying to do something bad),

I've only read until what happens next to them and what happened to Haitora and Uzoi in the manga, so everything after the next episode will be new to me. I hpe the future episodes and the ending will continue to be good as the current episodes.

This anime's world building and character design is fucking flawless. I wish more fantasy anime took this approach instead of the usual only humanized fantasy garbage we get these days.

Uzoi's design is amazing, I mean, just look at this shot

Kinda excited that we finally see another human, but damn, seems like things were rough for him.

The desert heavily reminds me of Final Fantasy X desert with all those huge monsters and stuff!

Somali and Golem Dad are on their way out of Anthole Town, but with the stuff picked up, certainly memories will live on.

Travelling again from one town to another, and meeting wandering birds Uzoi and Haitora along the way. One pair finding medicine for cures, and the other, humans to being Somali back to her roots. Regardless, with Uzoi's relentless bantering, there's a reason behind this: with Haitora being a former human, and Uzoi wanting to kidnap Somali to cure him. The red flags are in-bound anytime...

With that, the journey still goes on as usual, but being mindful of the outside danger. But it's clear why both Uzoi and Haitora clearly take over their journeying partners. And when the action is clear, Golem Dad is made clear of the situation, and definitely is NOT happy about it.

Clearly a very dire situation, and definitely aniticpating the next episode!

But why is Haitora turning/dying into harpy? I mean, Uzoi loves him even if he is human. Im sure that there will be some sort of answer, but still.

We're starting to get to the point of blatant emotional manipulation, which is disappointing but not hugely surprising. There's also the fact that this episode highlights how stupid it is that only two characters have seen through Somali's "disguise" so far: Haitora's disguise is much better at its job than Somali's, to say the least.
