Yeah, Your Lie in April definitely hits hard—good luck bracing for it, haha. The emotional payoff is worth it though, so I hope you end up loving it.

That’s cool, starting Devil May Cry fresh might actually be the best way to enjoy it with no expectations. I haven’t watched the new one yet either, but the trailers had a slick vibe. The soundtrack choices you mentioned totally sold me too.

And yeah, the eternal struggle of the backlog… feels like for every show I finish, three more get added xD

As for favorites recently—Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End really stood out to me. It's slow and reflective, but the emotional weight hits surprisingly hard. There’s this quiet beauty in how it explores grief, legacy, and moving forward even when time feels endless.

Also really loved Yubisaki to Renren. Super wholesome romance with such a gentle tone. The way it handles communication and the relationship between Itsuomi and Yuki felt really thoughtful—sweet without being overly cheesy.

Tengoku Daimakyou was a wild ride. That one blends mystery, sci-fi, and some genuinely dark moments in a way that keeps you hooked. The worldbuilding’s fascinating, and the shifts between the two storylines are so well done.

And Undead Girl Murder Farce was such a pleasant surprise. Loved the unique setting—a mix of Victorian elegance, supernatural elements, and mystery. Plus, the banter between the main trio is gold. It’s stylish, witty, and feels different from most mystery anime out there.

And I have to mention Kusuriya no Hitorigoto. I didn’t expect to get that hooked, but the political intrigue, the clever writing, and Maomao’s sharp wit made it a super addictive watch. Can't wait for more of that world.

I've seen quite a few great anime lately, but if I had to pick one that really stood out, it’d definitely be Frieren.

How about you—any surprise favorites or something you didn’t expect to enjoy as much as you did?

Nice picks! Princess Jellyfish is such a fun watch, and Space Dandy is always a wild ride—Watanabe really never misses. Your Lie in April, though… hope you're ready for that emotional rollercoaster. Witch Watch and Lazarus look promising too! Also, Devil May Cry—are you talking about the upcoming Netflix adaptation (I see there are already 8 episodes), or the older one from 2007?

As for me, I’ve mostly been keeping up with seasonal anime while also working through some older series I never got around to finishing. Trying to clear out my backlog, but, well… you know how that goes.

Hiya, sweet friend! Your vibes are so lovely, I can't help but adore them!

Yo! Thanks, man. Your favorites are solid too—Monster, Nana, and Pluto? Peak taste right there. Also cool to see Somali to Mori no Kamisama, that one's underrated. What've you been watching lately?

My kinda guy. Well this might be a tad bit long.

  1. City - Author of nichijou so you know what to expect. (Day-to-day comedy)
  2. Boku no Suki na Hito ga Suki na Hito - Sweet romance and gorgeous art.
  3. Hana ni Arashi - Sweet lesbians lol.
  4. Kininatteru Hito ga Otoko ja Nakatta - Tasteful Romance and music. Really short too.
  5. Mayonaka Heart Tune - Taken a page out of quintessential quintuplets and referenced the idea. Not a copy-paste...For now...
  6. R15+ ja Dame desu ka? - Pretty nice. It's learning about movies...that are...R15+?
  7. Rekishi ni Nokoru... - An isekai villainess manga that actually acts like a villainess. The title is hella long and I ain't typin' allat.
  8. Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You - Age difference romance that is handled very well. Highly recommended.
  9. Kindergarten Wars - An absolute blast (It's really good). I'm not reading this yet cuz I am hoping for a studio to adapt it.
  10. At Each Other's Throats - Day-to-day sibling comedy. Very short yet so many chapers.

That's it for now cuz my hand is screaming in agony.

Wow I just realized that witch watch was made by the same author of Sket Dance. How did I not notice that lol. That's what I'm about to read next I guess.

  • I would recommend giving "School Zone" a try. It's pretty good (Comedy-Wise) but it kinda ends abruptly so that might put you off.
  • "Nega-kun an Posi-chan" (Nega as in negative) absolutely killed me. (The English translation)

What kinda genres do you like most? If your fine with rom-com, slice of life or action stuff I could give some more. (If you want, that is)

Of course those characters are a GIVEN to love. Please do recommend me any good stuff you know.
