10/10 Anime, one of the best Isekai of the decade.

With the way the anime is doing, would there be any chance we would be seeing a season 2 for Overly Cautious Hero?

Also as a side question, should I pick up the manga or the LN after ep.12?

To respond to each paragraph:

Let's agree to disagree.

I'm not sure there is enough source to make a second season, at least for the manga. It is still too early to see whether a S2 is coming since it is tightly coupled to an increase in BD and source sales. From that ending I feel like they left themselves an in for a 2nd season but wanted to close up the first season neatly in case there wouldn't be. In other words, I don't feel like they wrote the last episode with the intent on moving forward knowing a second season was coming. It was like "we are done here, but if you buy the BDs and source here is where we would go next".

It depends on what you are looking for. Do you prefer the manga or LN format more? Are you looking for completeness? Are you looking for which one expands the world more? Are you looking for which one is the furthest along? I can't answer this for you since I didn't know this had a LN and I've only seen the existence of the manga but haven't read it. If you want an accurate answer you will need to clarify the criteria.

I hope so, I really enjoyed the humor and pacing in this show. I'm not sure but I think the anime is up to the 3rd novel? and currently there is seven novels. The manga is two years behind though.

I don't know about a second season, but maybe Seiya and the rest could be part of Isekai Quartet if they make a third season

the sales will tell us more on this part, hopefully, it'll get the needed boost and get the sequel, this anime was very funny and perfectly directed and it's only natural to get a good reaction from the audience given the Isekai trend, still thou it's all about the BDs sales.

A perfect comedy anime more than a isekai.
Ristart's facial expressions were out of the world.
Hopefully a sequel will come but i don't think it will happen.

Seiya would need time before he's "ready perfectly" for season 2

Its unlikely this series will get an s2.
Tsuujou Kougeki ga Zentai Kougeki de Ni-kai Kougeki no Okaasan wa Suki Desu ka? is more likely to get a sequel however.

I hope we get a second season soon , this is one of the best isekai for me too .

i recommend the manga because it's really hard to get the LN outside of japan, also the art in the manga is just perfect , and even better than the anime

A twist on the whole OP protag by making him weak is hardly enough to make an entire anime worthy to be called best isekai of the decade. Don't get me wrong, its a perfectly fine anime imo, just a bit overhyped.

I love this anime. Its one of those good isekai. Best useless godess+ genius hero.As far as i have read LN. This arc was quite short in comparison to LN V2. The second arc is so funny lol. There's plenty of content for a 24 episode S2(or two seasons with 12 episode each).

THIS IS GREAT ANIME! Good fights, jokes, plot threads and the whole story. Give me another season!

PS: The end of the first season for this is not bad and theoretically it would be enough. But I'm greedy and I want more! :P

What would you say your isekai of the decade is?

Wouldn't say I'm a massive Isekai fanatic so my choices are limited, but KonoSuba and No Game No Life blow Re: Zero out of the water.

All 3 of them have very little overlap in their genres to be weighing for best, ultimately it will just come down to the personal preference.

Oops, sorry I caused a stir in the discussion. Personally for me it's not THE best but one of the best. imo I can't really rank my favorites, but to me it's up there with Konosuba, Re:Zero, and NGNL. It's just that I really enjoyed it because of the god tier humor.
But thanks for the feedback & answers, appreciate it!

I'd settle for series to be added to Isekai Quartet. The scenes of Rista and Aqua interacting with each other would be interesting.

I love this anime too. I prefer this anime over many eye candy anime like SAO/Fate series. If only this anime had slightly better graphics, BD sales would of been good enough for S2.

I'm pretty sure, you can't. Unless you can read Japanese, of course. I have failed to find a place that sells Vol. 3 an onward. Only the first 2 volumes were covered in the anime. If you do know a site where you can buy Vol. 3, please, do let me know.

There are indeed 7 volumes but only 2 are released in English. 3rd volume will be released in March 31, 2020.

I'm generally pessimistic towards isekais & i tend not to watch many because of how silly & generic they are nowadays.

I went into this show with low expectations but I enjoyed it quite a lot more than i expected.
I really hope there will be a 2nd season. Especially since the ending is pretty much perfectly leading into what could be the 2nd season.

Honestly a great show. That pacing though. Low badged, rushed in the end. Still though, it did a fine job at alot of things. Would be nice to see the *massive penis badass* Seiya at it again. Im guessing a second season is possible.

Just remember that licensing/streaming and merchandise have overtaken BD sales in terms of revenue. Shield Hero sold like shit, but was popular on streaming sites and now it has two more seasons coming. There is hope for season 2.

LOL I'm going to assume you're being Sarcastic when you consider Konosuba, Slime datta Ken, Shield Hero, Overlord and Tanya are all Isekais that came out this Decade and are objectively better series.

Let's agree to disagree if you're not but with this series I can't see any possibility of being more than a 6. The Art was subpar and just plain bad in some instances. The jokes...I mean the same joke is repeated from beginning to end and the Story barely passes but only because of the last 2 episodes.

As for a Second season I doubt it. This thing got 12 eps with a RECAP episode to boot. That's how low budget this show was. Plus the Isekai Genre is way over saturated. Plus this Anime is not great either. If it gets a second season I would be seriously surprised.

I mean it's just going to be the exact same thing all over again. Same guy, Ristarte, same plot with the same demon king at the end. So what is the point anyway? There are much better series out there, just watch any of the ones I mentioned if you haven't yet.

I was positively surprised by this show and honestly hope there's never a second season. These 12 episodes did a great job in being a concise, self-contained story, and I'd have to lower my rating if they went for the generic endless cashgrab route.

Anime fans are among the worst at not keeping with the times and realizing that the market is changing. Streaming is big and getting bigger. The international market is gaining more and more influence. Production and distribution costs are also going down, making it easier to take a risk. I'd bet money this will get a second season, though it might take a bit.

Also, and I'll get a lot of hate for this, but English dubs are much, much better than they were. Like night and day in some cases. So the English fan base is finally growing outside the convention kiddies because most people want to watch content in their native language. I'll frequently watch an eng dub with jap subs and the localization is just so, SO much better. The subs often really miss the intent based on what's happening and go more literal and it just doesn't work in a lot of places. There are exceptions and places where the dub changes a character or does something dumb but overall it's a vast improvement over 10-15 years ago.

I think people forget that good translation is an art and the best of the best aren't subbing Anime. This series alone has an Engrish type translation of his main catchphrase. No native English speaker would say "Ready Perfectly". I don't speak Japanese so I don't know what he's supposed to be saying in Japanese but if it DOES translate correctly to "Ready Perfectly" then it should have been localized to how that would actually be said in English. The idea that subs are somehow more "pure" is this weird, baseless claim that's lingering from the days of truly horrible dubs, which ironically were so horrible because they just read the sub.

The ONLY "pure" way to watch any Anime is to actually understand Japanese.

I believe = No chance in hell.

Reason; The anime adapted 2 volumes but the third one is too brutal in my opinion to even animate. I don't know sh*t about the sales and I'd love a second season but I just can't see them anime the third volume. That one was nuts.
