sed but thanks for clarifying

That's probably true tbh. Although I don't really think it's on the sound director; the situation OPM S2 was placed in was doomed it from the start. Going from that unique Madhouse situation where they brought in tons of freelancers to throwing it at JC Staff was obviously going to lead to nothing short of a rushed mess. You see it all the time when sequels abruptly get thrown to a different studio, a la Deen 7ds and AoT Final Season.

By using logic.
You know, this anime wasn't that popular until 6th episode. No one tried to translate interviews from magazines. But some japanese fans on their forums talk about how someone from the stuff said that Reki wasn't supposed to be the lead in the first draft of the script. And then I started to look at this anime with a new eyes. Did you see a girl at the end of 1st (or 2nd?) episode? Who is she? Why the red-head lady in the OP? Why Langa was in the extreme need of the money in the first episode but never ever bothered by it again? All of it would make sense if you take into account the fact that the script has been changed.

Especially given in this COVID season, definitely unprecedented that shows now will have a dip in quality, and like you say, it's up to the talents of the production artists, animators and such to make up for it.
KANLen09 Jun 30, 2020 4:25 PM
The problem with animation is dependent on the anime industry and the various contacts, so like you said, something like "beginner's Stockholm" if i can phrase it well.

Remember, it still all goes back to the production crew because basically everything has been set in stone, and there's nothing else to judge but what we have through the many shows.

Hope this clarifies your reply.

Say you go to a buffet, there are 100 dishes but you can only pick 5 and out of those 5, you can only eat 1 tiny spoon of. You're going to leave with an expression of "I'm still hungry and THAT'S THE WORST BUFFET I'VE EVER BEEN AT AND I'VE BEEN TO THE OTHER BUFFETS!"

I watched the BD version. In the first few episodes, there's a bit of gun action and when they show the corpses, there's a lot of blood but no gun holes if you know what I mean.

It's a sequel that shouldn't have happened if that's how they were going to make it.
KANLen09 Apr 4, 2020 12:59 AM
And that show is...?
KANLen09 Apr 2, 2020 2:28 PM
OK, this one's a bit confusing.

They only adapted the LN to a certain degree that feels like it came from the LN, then added some fillers and the such. Those arcs are: Epiosdes 1-4 with the start of Orphen, and the Uoar Class arc in the last few episodes.

While this reboot sticks more closer to the LN IMO, the way that the 1998 version did was better. Both versions have fillers, but the 98' version made it look like it was canon to the filler, whereas the reboot didn't feel like anything and it was all just for show.

So,
1998 version: Loosely adapted from the LN, fillers actually kept in line with the main series
2020 version: Straight adaptation from the LN, fillers are non-canon with the LN (they squished the arcs content to be as short as possible)

Hope this answers your question.

Nice account

Yeah, no wonder. I read up on the manga after Season 1 finished, but it's been so long that I even forgot how it continues lol
SaggyFatface Jan 30, 2020 11:18 AM
JC Staff wasn't forced to pick up OPM, they could've just said no. They had multiple different shows coming out that season so their schedule was already very tight to begin with, but they picked it up anyway. Why? I have no fucking idea, probably because they knew how popular it was and how much money they could make from it, is my guess.

Also, work on your sentence structure dude, it's really hard to read and understand what you're saying
SaggyFatface Jan 30, 2020 9:24 AM
The BD version still doesn't fix the bad pacing, the bad stills, the weird sound effects and mixing of the music, the horrible cgi metal on genos and sonic and overall just the lack of any passion or love put into this season.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
