Welp, even this show has a beach episode. Asuka looking sexy in that red swimsuit :o

After all the battles, drama, etc, I think they deserved a break like this. On the other hand, I find some of Kurumi's scenes a bit awkward. She seems more sadistic than usual? Lol

That magical battle is quite something. We're seeing more variety of combat styles in this show. Some of the background storytelling was a bit disturbing.

Some very unique individuals ones again this episode, from a guy who beats up his crippled daughter to some guys who are trying to raise a killer.
Well it's obvious where it's going to with the girl that is.
I guess next week will be action packed ones again.

So early in 2019 and we already got our dad of the year <3 Too bad that he isn't able to receive his award.

But seriously, the edginess of this episode was off the charts....

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

war does this to people. I do not think she is sadistic. There are worse ways to torture people. I think she chose a type of torture that probably will not leave permanent mental damage. The worse type of torture for humans seems to be sensory deprivation over a certain period of time.

Whao, this was suppose to Majo shoujo, so why is their a boy amongst them bad Majo shoujo......?

From one sadistic scene a dad beating up his cripple daughter to Kurumi interrogating the other Majo Shoujo,,,,I kinda feel bad to Chisato, for having to endure such cruelty.

Welp, that was dark. Chisato is kinda relatable so I can't really blame her for murdering the shit out of the people who ruined her life. I hope she gets redeemed somehow.

Also, so much for the teased torture last ep, it was so short and the loli got fully healed after it anyway lol. Welp, maybe Kurumi is not as fucked up as I thought...

There is nothing more satisfying than seeing how they kill a father who can be considered the worst scum of humanity, at least now Chisato is free and she can walk again, but the price in return is to become a magical girl for the Babel brigade .
This episode had to give us the exquisite school trip to the beach and that means Asuka wearing swimsuit...thanks for this delicious gift.
Today we saw the true colors of Kurumi and I am totally satisfied, the desperate little girl trying to make Kurumi take pity on her and witness the flashback of how Kurumi suffered bullying and how Asuka was the one who saved her from her suffering, totally changed my way of seeing Kurumi, I totally respect her desire to protect and love Asuka, so I accept her morbid method of torture to obtain information from the little magical mercenary.
Seeing how Kurumi satisfied her eyes with the sensual figure of Asuka was excellent and the best thing is that she and Asuka will sleep in the same room.
The flashback of Asuka showed us the other magical girls who died during the war and Francine, her leader I like her a lot, she knows how to caress the spectacular Mia, but it was very sad to see how one by one they died in that cruel war. Asuka is still afraid of losing more friends, but for that reason she promises not to give up, I like how Asuka wonders why Kurumi sleeps with her, but who cares that two well-proportioned girls sleep together and using only underwear, just let Kurumi sleep with that smile on her face.
What a joy to see Mia and Tamara participating in the event, but it seems that the two of them are not very friendly.
Chisato accepts the terms of the Babel brigade and turns into a magical girl and her outfit is very pleasing to the eyes.
Uffff Kurumi and Asuka using wet shirts was 10/10 and Kurumi watching Asuka while she wanted to receive CPR from her was very funny.
What a pity I felt for Chisato's past, because of 4 filthy brats she lost her mother and her life went to hell, but now despite selling her soul to the devil she is happy, although now she must pass her last test to finish her training, she must kill the 4 scums that ruined her life and without using her powers, but Chisato does her part and assassinates them without mercy.
The following episode the Babel brigade will provoke a new terrorist attack and Asuka with her companions will have to defend the important guest of the other world.

All the fucking torture porn... it doesn't stop...

Edgy or not, that's an extremely inefficient method of getting information out of someone. Employing torture is more a mark of poor character, those that choose to torture instead of more effective means such as sophisticated manipulation techniques, or even the easier method of simply offering rewards befitting the mindset of the individual... There is no virtue, it's merely corruption.

This shit is definitely getting to Akame ga Kill levels of needless poorly justified edgefest, that feels like masturbation material for the twisted. It also makes it easy to judge peoples' character by how they respond to this anime...

Another spectacular episode. A new villain has entered the scene and she looks to be a bad one. I did like popping Dad’s head like a pumpkin, I’d probably like robot boy too.

I also like ChIsato’s solution to drunk dui punks. None of that give ‘em a hug crap here. Make them die slowly instead. Lol

Finally I really liked War Nurse this episode. She got to have a little fun with both Asuka and Nazani.

This is shaping to be a great series. It’s a pity it’s only 12 episodes. I have a feeling the final arc begins next week.

Hum, I always thought the whole show was dark and became darker as long as it advanced. Episode 8 confirmed the bloody adult and violent atmosphere, by continuing to show torture on teenager (after the drowning simulation + skin lifting with a burning plier, we have "the uncomfortable to the point you can't fall asleep device" + increasing pain medecine). I was surprised to notice Kurumi had such feelings for Asuka, leading her to do the dirty job by herself...

The global degree of violence increases episode after episode but it can't be a bad thing. Uncensored violent animes aren't legion nowadays...

However, episode 8 teased a calm period before the incoming storm : this inter-dimensional meeting will surely turn into a bloody battlefield, especially with the new magical vilain girl who has a mere reason to fight, but strong enough to cause trouble. Really looking toward a bloodbath and - hoping for it - a magical 4 or 5 reunion that we wait for a long time.

Okay, this episode was something negatively strange that "just didn't work", for me. My perspective about the serie was that it was an avarage show, having some interesting and decent parts along side with the issues and the problems of it, beign a wasted potential, and depending of the elements or ideas presented by each episode and their quality, the episode could be a ok or decente episode and a forgetable meh and average episode. Well, this episode had more issues and problems in contrast of the good, decent and interesting parts were not so strong that can forget about the issues, beign close to a bad episode.

The interesting, but weak, part was the new magical girl, for having this dense and heavy tone in her life, also something new to talk about in this show. Her dad triying to sold her in the same profession of her mother, he spanks her hardly with all the melancholy and the anger, beating a girl with one leg and injured in the middle of the poor trash moutain. She was saved by a gigantinc magical robot kid, who gives her a robotic leg, power of Magical girl and oportunity to her revenge for what the four guys did to her and her mother. Really interesting stuffs and much better compared to the Kurumi and also Asuka's past, even more when there there are relation between the girl and the robot boy about to kill. Taking life for the first time to get used it for the battlefield or the missions and doing this with the guys that kill her mother, also he did the same with the guerrillas, who forces him to kill his parents and rape his sister. Complex and interesting for sure, however it wasn't enough to compansate all the bullshit of this episode unfortunately.

Warnurse and her shitty moments in the torture porn moment with the sexualized loli, discusting in a bad way and worse than the Nozomi's torture, her generic tragic flashback about her been bullied for some reason and Rapture/Asuka saving her life in a middle of the classroom, taking her out, also she is pretty yandere and pervy toward to Asuka(yeah this is how you make a ship, right?), god damn. Fanservice and the fuckin beach episode, to show the sexualized female characters and their large bust, yey... Really? Just really? The thing that i complained is strongly here, it really hurts my eyes, a piece of shit, also had the Kurumi and Asuka with the underwear to make it worse, also another moment of Asuka and her trauma again and whatever.

...Just wainting and hoping for a better episode than this, honestly.

The introduction of the illegal magical girl Chisato makes her entrance. And...she got wrecked hard by her estranged dad but the Babel Brigade saved her at the last moment. Gave her a glimpse of hope that she could use her rage of revenge as part of them. A perfect asset for the enemy.

Closer to the end, the battle between M Squad and the Babel Brigade on the 6th Nana is closing in. Quite excited for the end though.

And the occasional beach trip trope...how many has it been? And Kurumi's true colors, that's some insane sadism. Too bad that torture sequence was too short.

@NoviSun @salbery755 I'm with you on the good parts of this series. However, @H_M_Gamer666 that's a good pointer also on how bad this series has become.

I was able to ignore the fan service as it wasn't extreme. However, the "magical spanking" made me burst out laughing. It's the stupidest thing I have heard since "United States of Smash".

Weird Alphonse turned the one legged girl into a magical girl too soon. He could have given us more time to connect to her. Now, she is just an abuse victim who got powers and became a criminal. Kind of makes it look like she was evil from the start.

More unnecessary torture from both the villains and heroes, completely over the top fan service that lands squarely in the ridiculous zone, and so much crazy edginess. For those of you that are still enjoying this, I'm glad for you, but right now I'm baffled as to how this series can function, either in the past of the story or where it's headed.

I thought that Episode 4 would be the lowest point, but it's somehow managed to careen on past that.

This show is tanking hard and fast. At this point, I'm only still watching it to see just how bad of a train wreck it will end up, because right now, it's already riding into "what the heck did I just watch" territory.

He's trying to get his one-legged daughter to work at a brothel? How does that even work!?

Now he's beating up his disabled daughter. EVIL!

YANDERE NURSE! TORTURE NURSE! And she did all of that with a straight face. KURUMI IS BEST NURSE!

BLACK UNDERWEAR!!!

Sergeant Major Mia. Wow. Nice rank. Seems like Mia and Tamara don't really get along, but I think they will cooperate if they have to.

Convenient that he was carrying a prosthetic leg with him...

The voice actress of that penguin sounds familiar...Shiori Izawa? Micha is that you?

Giess has one hell of a sucky past...Well I guess this is how some Magical Girls become corrupt...

Whoa, that's actually a good test for Chisato. You need to know how it feels to kill someone. But more than ten minutes per person? Can't we make it five? Ten is a long time. I guess it's for her to endure that...

Some slow torture and fan service this episode, but looks like we'll be getting some action next episode. So when do we get to see Princess Pei Pei?

Chisato's savior sure came timely. Kurumi sure is an unexpectedly good interrogator. Her quiet but chilling voice sure was impressive considering her usual self. Thats quite the venue for the conference. Kurumi's reaction to being alone with Asuka sure was amusing. If anything this conference sure brough the team back together. Thats quite the body that was under the cloak. For her first outing Chisato sure did well. The act of giving her a prosthetic leg that can be used as a weapon sure matched well with her desire for hope. Interesting ep that while showing the more relaxing side of their civilian lives also did well in showing how the Babel brigade recruits new magical girls. Chisato's recruitment process was quite insightful.

Kurumi ermmm.....torture was something..also that cringy bullied flashback cliche..weak girl.also when she mention that the girl would be fine coz have magic wonders me..the mahou shoujou dont have actual natural magic by themselves coz its within their artifact.therefore if their artifact is stripped or destroyed then they have no magic watsoever..
Chisato got saved and scum dad death is great, but now by killing those people and becoming an illegal mahou shoujou she become a criminal worst than those she just killed.didnt bring her mom back or return her og legs.gain nothing but much worst fate later..

Not really the case, Kurumi did say to the loli that because of her magic power the effect of the sense strengthening drug might be different. So I guess they do actually gain some magic after having come into contact with the artifact.

Quite the opposite.

The worst type of villain.
The one, who pretends to care and help with sweet words only to exploit your suffering and thoroughly corrupt you and once she will exhaust her use, she will be disposed. Just wonder, what would happen, if she would refuse to kill those thugs.
I wonder, if Chisato realizes, that with Babel Brigade she will be murdering innocents.

Beach episode and torture, not a combination I have seen before in one episode. Asuka is just hot in her swimsuit and her underwear later on. That body. Kurumi's torture was quite something, not what I had expected at first. Magical Spanking.... XD

Asuka's nightmare actually showed a bit more on how some of the magical girls died, damn quite gruesome.

Perhaps you should be watching something else. I think it fits nicely. The fact is that torture is a very ugly undertaking, rather than something funny or equally frivolous. I'm sure if you look hard enough you'll find something like "The five little cabbages, and how they grow", though even that is kind of scary when the lady bugs attack.

You are very much incorrect. Torture is one of the most inefficient means of obtaining information, media simply glorifies it.
One of the most efficient means of getting information is bribery, buy it.

War nurse was doing it for catharsis and potentially pleasure. Narratively it was largely out of place and completely unnecessary other than for edge factor and fetish.

Only reasons to resort to torture are:
-inability to persuade or bribe (nothing to use or incompetent or stupid)
-personal reasons such as catharsis or pleasure
-religious reasons and fanaticism
-corrupt sense of justice

Have to agree that the knife murder at the end is wrong. Just my opinion... if those minors had been laughing after they hit them with the car, it would have been ok for them to be killed in return. However, looking back at the scene.. those teens looked shocked at what happened, it was purely an accident that no one wanted to happen.

The issue that I have is that the 'torture porn' is ludonarrative dissonance. Like you say, it's a very ugly undertaking but we also have to sit through the ahegaokin faces and titillating fanservice with the victims put in scandalous positions. This is like watching a war movie that is showing us the ugly side and horrors of war but also shows us that war is the most badass thing ever. Another example is playing a video game where the whole goal and narrative revolves around stealth mission yet there are achievement based on how many headshots you get to attain a certain skin etc. This is called, the story told visually doesn't agree with the story told by the script. Let's be honest, this is just here for cheap fanservice quotas than anything so don't kid yourself.
You’ve made a very good point and undercut my argument. There is a strong dissonance in some of the scenes.

If we think about it, the entire episode was like that some how. We got a beach filled with a fanservice, unfortunately, but also some intense, dramatic and heavy episde, alongside the stupid torture porn, and these two didn't mix, connect and interact very well at all, having the weird bad taste in the mouth.

Fanservice in the beach and torture are not exactly very harmonic combinations of narrative.

Episode should have expanded on Chisato and Afro-Mecha dude more, have the torture scene, PTSD dream, and the background for the battle event expected next episode.

Beach sequence is useless and should have been pushed for next episode, or simplified to 3 minutes.

Magical Spanking lmao. I knew Kurumi was kinky, but I didn't know she was quite that sadistic xD This is why Asuka is necessary to keep her contained.

Pretty dark episode overall, and finally some motivations that make sense. I like Chisato, she seems sufficiently messed up in the head to do some damage. Still some characters who have yet to make a full appearance and we're approaching the last arc, next episode should be full of new things I reckon...

even the sweet Kurumi can become the most evil torturer huh? great transition writing.

and yet that pales in comparison to the entire "how to breed a child soldier, the episode". give them a bit of hope, happiness and purpose and they will be willingly obey your orders. that was quite the satanic thing to do.
>I had no brain when I was 12
>Then everyone must had no brain when they were 12
>I experimented 100 samples and proved that they had no brain when they were 12
>Therefore children cannot consent

This is what science has done to humanity.

I am sure Francine is the leader...

Kurumi is doing all she can so Asuna doesn't need to do the dirty job...
I was so happy Chisato's dad got killed.
