Hello. Tarotist here. You can call me Taro for short. I'm an easygoing and friendly guy on the timid side who likes to keep things nice and peaceful. I'm a college graduate working at an internet-based company, so I tend to spend a lot of time online (here on MAL specifically). My hobbies include Anime, Video Games, Internet, Listening to Music, and writing about stuff in great detail. I tend to be sarcastic at times, but I never intend to hurt or disrespect anyone, so please forgive me if I overstep my boundaries.
In my early years I lived in Japan. My 3 very first anime were Dragon Ball, Mobile Fighter: G Gundam, and Gulliver Boy (and if anyone can find me a sub for Gulliver Boy, tell me!), and I watched these three raw (no subs or dubs) while they were airing in Japan. However, Slayers was the first anime where I was able to understand what the characters were saying thanks to dubs. I was in a bit of an anime hiatus due to school and relocating, but now that I've graduated college, it's time to watch anime!
What kinds of Anime do I watch?
Everything. From Shoujo to Seinen. From Comedy to Drama. From Slice of life to Fantasy. From Magical Girl to Mecha. From Shounen Ai to Yuri Hentai. I'll watch them all. And as a person who is highly irritated by leaving things unfinished, I will never drop an anime once I start the first episode. I will watch any anime that I choose from start to finish, no matter how good or bad it may be. And I do not favor one genre over another because each genre is a different experience, and I would like to experience them all equally.

How do I watch Anime?
I tend to watch three anime at once: Primary, Secondary, and Backup.
For my primary anime viewing: To keep things fresh, I watch different genres of anime in a rotating pattern. The pattern is as follows:
1. Something Dark/Thrilling/Mysterious - Next in Line: Monster
2. Something Comical/Funny/Lighthearted - Next in Line: Chikyuu Bouei Kazoku (The Daichis: Earth Defense Family)
3. Something Action-Packed - Next in Line: Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica
4. Something Romantic/Dramatic/Slice-of-Lifeish - Currently Watching: Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou (His and Her Circumstances)
5. An anime chosen at random - Next in Line: Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu
6. Repeat from #1.
My secondary anime is one that is currently airing. I pick out the one I am most interested in and watch it. I don't want to watch too much at once or I'll get all the stories mixed up. I'll catch up with the others later. Since airing episodes come out once a week, I keep myself busy by watching my primary anime.
Currently Watching:
One Punch Man 2nd Season
Attack on Titan III Part 2
Fairy Gone
Carole & Tuesday
Miru Tights
Hitoribocchi no ββ Seikatsu
Joshikausei
Jimoto ga Japan
Nande Koko ni Sensei ga?!
Fruits Basket (2019)
Captain Japan
Dororo
My third "backup" anime that I currently watch is either an Ecchi/Fanservice anime or an anime that is received negatively by the community. If my primary anime is not very satisfactory or if it becomes stale, I'll resort to my backup.
Currently Watching:
Yosuga no Sora: In Solitude Where We Are Least Alone
How do I score my Anime?
The Short Version:
The Long Version:
I do not judge an anime by what it is. I judge an anime by WHAT IT DOES. The reason why I completely watch an anime from start to finish is so that I can truly justify if the anime is good or not. I could go into great detail about this, but I'll keep it simple and summarize it via the "Three E's"
1. Execution (How well was the anime's concept presented?)
2. Entertainment Value (Was the anime engaging enough to immerse me into its story?)
3. Emotional Impact (aka Shock Factor. Did something happen in the anime that made me go "WOW!"?)
There are other factors that I can add, but these three are the major factors in deciding what score I give.
Ratings: These descriptions are not always accurate, but they give the general idea of the score I give. Every series has its flaws depending on one's tastes. A rating of 10 does not mean the show is perfect, but it does show how much I liked it.
10 - Fulfills the Three "E's" to the point where I don't even need to question the excellence of the anime. 9 - An awesome watch that executed itself greatly. If it had any flaws, I probably forgot about them. 8 - A great watch that fulfills one of the Three "E's" well, usually Emotional Impact. 7 - Has a few issues here and there, but the Entertainment Value will keep it strong. 6 - The "Biased" rating where I liked something in the anime that made me push it above average. 5 - AVERAGE. Basically it means "Well it wasn't bad, but it didn't really stand out." 4 - The other "Biased" rating where the anime does something questionable. 3 - Something happened and I didn't like it. 2 - No. 1 - WHAT IS THIS? I don't even...
Wait, what about Manga?
I also read manga, but to a much lesser extent compared to anime. I prefer hearing the characters' voices from voice actors so that I can understand them better. Also, reading manga can be confusing sometimes with all the speech bubbles and artwork everywhere. But I think it mostly has to do with my schedule. I can watch Anime at fixed intervals, but I lose track of time indulging in manga. However, I do like to read manga while I'm waiting for something, like getting a haircut, at the hospital, and basically places where I need my ears to hear in case my name gets called out or something. I probably would have been reading a lot of manga in high school, but that time has passed, and I'm a lot busier now... Currently Reading:
Gunnm: Last Order
Visual Novels Completed (Currently on a VN Hiatus due to life)
Ripples
Zero Escape: 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors

I came to your profile because of your comment on Caligula, about you perhaps being a Psychology Major. Now I am conflicted. I was excited and genuinely curious, and now I am deeply disheartened and distraught to learn of your unexpected malady...
I sincerely hope that the anime you have watched before brings you happiness and nostalgia. This has led me to reflect more on being grateful for having my senses, and that I should not take them for granted.
