 Capcom has announced at Tokyo Game Show 2015 that a TV anime adaptation of the visual novel series Gyakuten Saiban, also known by its English title Ace Attorney, has been green-lit. The anime will premiere in Spring 2016 on Japan's terrestrial networks. Previously, the franchise has also received a live-action film, a stage play, a musical, and a manga adaptation.Developed by Capcom, the games combine elements of mystery, thriller, and adventure. They initially began as a trilogy of comedic legal thrillers created by Shu Takumi and released for Nintendo's Game Boy Advance in Japan between 2001 and 2004. They were ported to the Nintendo DS between 2005 and 2007 and released internationally. The games follow the exploits of a passionate rookie defense attorney named Ryuuichi Naruhodou (Phoenix Wright in English versions) who fights for his clients in a courtroom setting loosely resembling that of the Japanese legal system, using investigative skills, cross-examinations, and evidence. | Good idea on paper, but like most game adaptations it could easily get screwed up (and it probably will). I think I'll reserve judgement on this until we get a PV of some sort. |
| Man I'm actually kind of shocked that this hasn't happened already, but hey better late then never. Hopefully it doesn't suck, but visual novels tend to translate into anime better that any other video game genre so I have confidence that this could be good. |

| Can't help but laugh at the lack of any immediate announcement of A-1 Pictures to just kill most potential buzz with this one. People are saying Bones in some places on account of their having handled the animation for Dual Destinies. It seems like a long shot though since I don't believe they've ever done any sort of video game adaptation before. |

| I hope they won't try to cram all three games into one cour, hoping for a 2 cour anime at the least, and hopefully if it does well we can get Apollo Justice and Duel Destinies adaptations, and hell why not adapt Ace Attorney Investigations while were at it, but I'm probably get ahead of myself here. |

| Incredibly hyped, but I also hope this doesn't turn out to be a 13 episode anime covering the original trilogy. I can live with two cours but the best thing would be one cour for every game with 1-5 becoming a movie or something. |
