Saw the episode after watching the live radio event (http://live.nicovideo.jp/watch/lv200736860) on Nico Nico Douga. The radio event itself was so funny, lol.

On the episode itself, it was such a big turnaround compared to previous episodes, that I was a bit shocked. Noel was as cute as always, but due to the ending, I surely got...

The episode got pretty decent ratings on Nico Nico:
94.1%, 2.6%, 1.3%, 0.8%, 1.2%.

A wish to becomes friends with the others forever? That's kinda interesting.

And seriously, it's about time that Shione came back. A picture is worth a thousand words. The song they played during that scene highlighted their moment. I wonder if Noel will return later though in the show. And seems like the saucer in the sky is gone too for now.

My question is why does this have 2 episodes left? Honestly the way this episode ended was more or less how I figured the series would end. The only thing that makes sense is if Noel comes back somehow. Devoting 2 full episodes to them moving on without her seems like a bit much...

Episode itself was fine. I still can't bring myself to enjoy this emotional ending as much as I might had the path we took to get here not seemed so unnecessarily prolonged.

Meeting at the observatory at night. It was nice to learn about everyone's wishes.

I actually really enjoyed this episode... on how they all got together again. The tension was like a mirage that easily disappeared just after being somewhat forceful and honest with each other. The power of an unbreakable bond was really something to see.

The observatory with everyone once gathered together again. Almost the same yet really different from how it all began. ;_; Noel being so thoughtful and thankful was really sad, guess I am really bad at these scenes.

Noel crying then disappears. A sky where the saucer is gone.

Does friends imply the actual meaning of making friends along the way and being able to stay like that or simply referring to the circle of friends that was in the observatory only.

Yea, I would think that too. A few minutes would've been probably enough to show how they had moved on. I do think that Noel isn't coming back until the last episode. Giving them time to gather their thoughts and then wanting to get Noel back. The ending I would imagine is the saucer coming back and everybody saying "welcome home!" and ending it with lots of hugs though probably a few sort scenes after that.

o.o maybe also some sort of closure for Yuzuki and Souta.

Noel's trying to clear the clouds with her big leaf was cute! "Kumo-san, kumo-san, tondeke!" :3

I found it funny the way all of them were forcing themselves to avoid each other. Koharu was the only person that was mature enough to discuss the situation openly/properly with Nonoka.

After Shione ran off once again with tears in her eyes, I like how Noel knew she'd come back. And she did, in a matter minutes! I'm amazed how quickly Headphone Actor changes her moods and emotions.
Was it really necessary for her to reintroduce herself? You know, they don't have memory issues. >.>

As much feels this episode tried to bring, it unfortunately failed because the show tries too hard. The execution could've been much better. Even so, Noel's disappearance was quite sad nonetheless.

Average episode. Pretty sure Noel will be back soon, since we have two more episodes left. Still hoping for a decent ending though.

Fudge the feels!!

I, much like the characters thought I was prepared for this. . . . I WASN'T!
The build up the last couple of episodes has been fantastic, and leading up to such a quiet climax got me right in the tear duct!

I am slightly worried about the fact that there are 2 episodes to go tough. Dragging the conclusion out won't do this show any good, so I hope they are sure of what they're doing.
The 2002 Tokyo Mew Mew adaptation is not as great as you remember it being.

Fantastic episode! The series up to this point has always been okay, but this episode clenched the deal, and raised my opinion of the series overall. Feels were had, and I definitely appreciate that!

However, there are still 2 episodes left somehow, so I hope they can stick the landing and not mess it up. If they can, this will be quite a good series.

What a sad episode. And Noel was pretty much the only reason that I continued to watch this show.

Another good episode for me. I rather like the use of flashbacks in this series. The revelation of the wishes and how the Shinoe and Nonoka photo was taken....

Sad to see Noel go, but perhaps she'll return in a different guise.

Tho i wonder what will happen in the last few episodes?
Will they stick together will they try to summon Noel again?
And will their friendship last?

Really good episode!

Shione's 'roulette' style emotions struck once again early on, but she thankfully redeemed herself by making an appearance at the observatory.

Seeing Noel crying make me think that part of her doesn't want to leave Nonoka and the others at all. Really touching too.

Although this might've felt like an ending in a way, most endings usually have an epilogue of some sort, so with 2 episodes left, I'm thinking there is one last important part to the story before the epilogue (Most likely Noel's return in some way I guess).

I wonder how they're going to fill in the last 2 episodes. On the episode itself, the melodrama is still kind of stupid. I fail to understand why they care so much about Noel when they supposedly have known her for a small time and didn't even know about her before.
The anime industry is dead, the otaku fanbase killed it.

My prediction is they are going to try to summon the saucer again and all wish for Noel to stay (or something similar). Don't know if that's where they are heading with this, but that's just my guess.

Letting the only semi-likable character leave...sure Noel will return in episode 13 as a "surprise" ending.

Anohana vibes, though instead of crying this time I was actually laughing because of the melodrama. This makes me wanna rewatch Anohana to see if the melodrama was this high in it as well and if I might have overlooked that when I first saw it due to feels.

A lot of people comparing this to AnoHana more now due to this episode but do people forget that this is an original anime from the writer of Sola anime and Kanon VN?

Nonoka x Shione the first lesbian ship that I support wholeheartedly! We need some doujins soon..

The feels is strong in this episode although unlike Anohana, which is full anguish, this one is more bittersweet feeling and that's why my reaction was pretty much like the characters on screen, with tears on the edge instead of actually crying like on the last episode of Anohana.

Now that their wishes were revealed, everything that happened in the past 10 episodes made sense and I love how everything came full circle in the observatory. The best scene was when Nonoka introduced Shione (again) to the waiting friends.

I. Cant. Handle. The FEELS.

Was fine for a while, especially with Noel being all kawaii as fuck.

As soon as everyone got to the observatory and the piano version of Hoshizuki started playing I was like, awww shit here it comes.

Then when the orchestra version of Nonoka's mom's song started playing and Noel was thanking everyone I lost it. The kokoro couldn't handle the feels.

Then just when I was starting to recover, and everyone was gonna start watching the meteor shower, Noel starts crying because she realized she didn't want to leave either. Then I fucking lost it. That was just too much, and then they showed the saucer gone from the sky.

ughh....fortunately there are 2 episodes left. I'm hoping that Nonoka saying "is this really what you wanted Noel?" at the end is foreshadowing them bringing her back. I'm hoping 1 episode will be dedicated to them coping and figuring out how to move on, then they'll decide to summon the saucer again and all just wish for Noel to stay with them forever.

....at least I really hope so.

Dumb ass-pull ending for a dumb show with dumb melodrama; I want to criticize it, but it fits so perfectly there's no room for me to do that...

In any case, yeah, this was a very touching episode. If I hadn't watched Anohana, I might've even cried, cause this has proven to be an 80% Anohana clone until the end, it seems. Unless they really do go for that ass-pull ending, which will at least serve to set it apart.

I'm not sure how to feel about the fact that there's two more episodes left. There's a lot of potential in what CAN be done, but the question is... what will be done? And frankly, I feel as if a "the group coping with Noel's loss and trying to move on" scenario just doesn't fit when Noel hasn't even been a part of their group for very long and they hardly even know who she is. It's not like she was a lifelong or childhood friend like Menma... painting that scenario makes it feel too over-dramatic to me, so I guess it'll be very interesting to see how it's pulled off.

This entire post sounds like it's complaining about this show and this episode but I'm actually rather content. It's been a pretty all right series and this episode was truly heartwarming, especially with the song that played during their goodbye. That was beautiful. Sora no Method is just easy to complain about, especially because it's such a huge Anohana rip off.

Noel was so unbelievably ADOOOOORAAAABLE when she said, "I love you all!" ;_;

This is literally Anohana 2.0, but I honestly don't mind much. xD Cute and touching episode, though it didn't actually make me tear up like a couple of previous episodes did (which is weird, considering those episodes had more incomprehensible melodrama).

Shione went from a character I wtf'd at to a lovable character these past few episodes, and Noel was as adorable as ever.

Noel on the other hand...why was it so sad? I mean I didn't cry any river but I shed a tear or two. For a few moments I was concerned they were going to lose their memories but I'm glad they remember Noel. Now we still have 2 episodes and without Noel I don't even know waht's going to happen...will she come back?

The animation was really something this episode.

Wait- the 2nd part of ED song is different from how it actually is in the full ver.

They sure cried a lot. None of them really had a strong bond with Noel except Nonoka... and maybe Shione as well.

Not a bad episode, better than the last one.

T.T it isn't the same if it isn't everyone! I seriously thought we were going to hit slice of life genre but I guess not yet.

You guys say that it's an anohana rip off, but obviously there's a lot of elements that set it apart as well. If you say otherwise, then everything in the entertainment industry is a ripoff of each other which is not the case.

I'll leave the critics to their own devices, this was simply beautiful. I hope the rest serves as an equally compelling epilogue.

Edit: Up to this point, I'll say that Sora no Method has been nothing short of satisfying. I've enjoyed watching this group of friends pick up the pieces of their bond that was shattered by the passage of time and a broken promise. I think what makes this so lovely is how each of them wished for the same thing, and that's what makes this reconciliation all the more powerful as their feelings are now completely in tune (at least I hope).

In contrast to most of the responses, I've actually had no problem with the drama or the pace. Really thinking a 7.5/10 for this at the moment, I'll have to see how the next 2 episodes deliver Sunday.

Episode largely devoted to the time to say goodbye, narratively this step was already known for some time, not delivered excitement inherent in the plot twist, but the atmosphere was quite good.
A little I was excited too, Noel was too sweet and pretty.
I'm curious to see how close the TV series.
