ArnoldK, your right it appears in this episode that Yagami may finally be the catalyst that will force Kyoko to finally be honest with herself and her love for Godai. It's almost as though Yagami is encouraging Kyoko to go after Godai which is odd, cause I know for a fact that Godai would welcome her with open arms.

I've always thought that Kyoko's thoughts on her dead husband and fear of losing him forever if she fell in love again were the source of some of Maison Ikkoku's best scenes and it happened again in this episode. Though she is trying to get over him and is definitely making progress, I know it must be hard to fall in love again. She's worried she'll forget Soichiro and I think that is a very relatable fear.

On a side note, I've noticed that the further we get into this show the less the story seems to focus on Godai. It seems that now Kyoko and Yagami are the focus, and this is something I have no problem with what so ever.

yea it seems these last few arcs they have been focused more on kyoko and feeling towards soichiro and godai. because of this the arcs have been dealing with people who are people to force kyoko to face her feelings.

Yagami is a smart girl, and is totally correct in criticizing Otonashi.
The way she is so direct really makes my heart swoon. She's like the perfect females character.

One of the better MI episodes. A number of fans seem to dislike Yagami but, after enduring so much of Kyoko's unintentionally manipulative personality, I find her direct brand of honesty refreshing. If not for her correctly pointing out how cowardly Kyoko's acting, and how she's accepting Godai's love without giving anything in return, the two probably wouldn't have ended up together. She's so concerned about her feelings for her previous husband that, because she feels so strongly for Godai, she'd rather marry a man she feels less for than her first love.

What bothers me about Kyoko is that, if not for Godai and she had been left alone with Mitaka, she'd have eventually married him. But in the case of Godai, even though she feels strongly about him, I find it hard to imagine her accepting Godai's love without love rivals forcing her hand.

As much as I love Kyoko I must confess that I often wonder whether Ibuki would have been a better match for Yusaku. Or maybe I'm just projecting my love of spunky schoolgirls onto Yusaku. Ahem. She seemed to bring out the worst in Kyoko until confronting her with that uncomfortable truth. And Kyoko knew it was true.

I never considered the possibility that Kyoko would have married Mitaka simply because she didn't feel as strongly about him, thus enabling her to "preserve" her love for Soichiro. In the movie there's a brief but interesting conversation between Kyoko and Ibuki about how to reconcile love for one person with love for another.

Ibuki's too childlike to be a good match for anyone, at the age she's at. It's pleasing to see her be so aggressive when Kyoko is the exact opposite, and it was great to see Kyoko - the 'mature' woman - put in her place by a child. But she's more of an obsessive stalker than a love interest.

Oddly enough, only Kyoko has boobs, out of Godai's harem. And short hair is a big no-no. Because of those reasons, I could fully understand why Godai only saw his long haired Goddess throughout MI.

Aside from assuming Kyoko truly is a classy prostitute in disguise, her using the logic that being penetrated by Mitaka wouldn't be betrayal in the same sense as Godai doing the entering is the only other theory I can think of that makes sense... aside from Takahashi screwing with Kyoko's characterization in order to make the story go on... and on... and on.

It wasn't really a serious suggestion. The projection thing is much more likely :P

Still, thinking back to his stint as a student teacher, it can't be denied that he was tempted when she tried to seduce him in the equipment room at school. I liked that scene.

What bothers me about Kyoko is that she has feelings for no one else but herself and her bloody past! She has no regards for Mitaka, for Nanao or for Ibuki's feelings and I totally agree with you - if all these people stop pressuring her she would probably loss interest in Godai as well! She loves only herself!

Episodes with actual content are indeed very refreshing after all those pointless ones. :D

It's definitely getting interesting now that Kyoko is being confronted with the fact that she has to fess up and acknowledge her feelings... If she can only think of loving Godai as equivalent to forgetting Souichiro, though, it really makes me wonder how things will progress from here. (Pretty bad way to think about it, IMO, actually.)

I'm glad whenever Yagami appear, she accelerates progres in Godai and Kyoko's relationship's, They almost kissed man that's something i excpected around episode 90. Yagami's comeback is exactly what this show needed.
I also like how hard she works with her love interest in mind, that's breath taking , ofc she's got tendecy to go bit too far but her view is the one of Highschool girl she's not supposed to be exactly mature at her age, is she ? what more she's good girl even came to revive Kyoko's fighting spirit, undirectly asking her to be proper rival haha

Great episode! Ibuki is constantly bringing out Kyoko's true feelings, it's clear why Kyoko would be so indecisive if she holds onto the belief that by marrying someone she loves as much or more as her husband, he's truly deceased. I'm glad Ibuki came into this series, her aggressiveness helps balance the show, making up for Kyoko's lack of assertiveness.

She's more mature than Kyoko. Well unless matureness means more games, more strategies and more nonsense.

Well dayum, Yagami is going all out! Great episode... I can see why Kyoko is scared, but maybe this'll start to change her.

Also, yeh, kinda weird how Kozue-chan has been completely forgotten even though they're officially boyfriend/girlfriend. I feel sorry for her tbh.. I get the feeling she would be hurt the most out of the three girls when Godai breaks up with her considering that, from her point of view, their relationship is going just fine.

Definitely loved the way the Yagumi/Kyoko dynamic was handled in this episode, things should be getting pretty interesting as we go from here.

Oh, and the "let her drink some soy sauce" scene was hilarious. Drunk Kyoko is always entertaining.

Good episode, it's going to take so many episodes for Kyoko to realize her true feelings.

Can't wait for the love confession.

I really hate love triangles that's two girls one guy 'cause it brings out the ugly side in women. In this case, Yagami's interference may be helping Kyoko become more self aware of her feelings for Godai, but her personality and her sneaky plans of getting her way makes me dislike her even more. As for Kyoko, even though I'm on her side, I have to agree with Yagami on that Kyoko is afraid to love someone again and she's just holding back. I just hope Kyoko realizes she shouldn't let her past refrain her from being truly happy.

Great episode. Finally we have clear confirmation of Kyoko's feelings. She almost kissed Godai. Yagami just owned Kyoko, not only is she quite adorable but also honest.

Very amusing episode for most parts, but the mood has gotten heavier towards the end and we were shown more in depth focus on what is actually obvious since early on, specifically Kyokos feelings for Souichiro which are the cause of her hesistance towards Godai.

Yagami learned about this and keeps pushing things in the right direction, now even more so.

And maybe I'm interpreting too much into this, but I liked that Kamiyogi said to her that she wouldn't understand Kyokos feelings. Obviously, since she didn't have to deal with the loss of a loved one before, but I think she also implied that Yagami doesn't understand true love yet.

Well anyway, great episode.

I get it. Ibuki and Kyoko are complete opposites.
But I wish Ibuki got bitch-slapped by Kyoko in the bar after saying you-know-what.

I don't even hate Yagami. I know she's a highschooler. But she makes it very difficult for me to like her. Her only good thing is that she's unintentionally making Kyoko confirm her feelings towards Godai.

It took 66 episodes to get here. Well, I at least understand from Kyouko pov. But other characters don't add much to this anime whatsoever. In fact, I despised every supporting cast in this anime with my entire being. The only reasonable one was actually Mitaka out of the bunch. Remove them!

What a journey this is.

I like Yagami because she spices things up and adds variety. I honestly don't mind the slow development with the romance because the show is already very highly entertaining with what it currently has.

Yagami chan studying, doing all-nighters, to get better test scores at school - and for what? - to show off to Kyoko san that she doesn't need to be worried about her?
Yagami chan's studying was clealry disturbed by, firstly, her obsession with Godai san, and secondly, the tennants making all that noise.
Good for her if she bettered her scores and maybe learnt something, but all that effort was only to irritate Kyoko sa... oh now I get it.

Yagami chan saying she hates people who are not upfront, so most of people. Especially in Japan people are reserved with their feelings, as we have seen in this show alone. Yagami chan doesn't know what Kyoko san had to go through after losing her husband and first love (yeayea we know she loves Godai now). And like Kyoko san said, she's afraid to admit that she loves someone else and possibly forget about Soichiro san. But maybe Yagami chan understood something after the bar night and the chat with her teacher.

But still Yagami chan, your love to Godai san is one sided and you can't force him to love you.

They 'almost' kissed but you know it's not going to happend so suddenly - no heart beat sound, camera zooming to lips and all that other anime jazz.

People saying that the supporting characters do nothing - you don't even know how many times they've progressed Godai-Kyoko relationship, by let's say, stopping Godai san from running after Kyoko san so she can have a chat with Mitaka san, which evetually pushes Kyoko san closer to Godai san for an example.

Pouting meter was off the chart in this episode.

Damn Ibuki, poor Kyoko being bullied by some teenage girl. On the plus side, Ibuki did bring the more honest side of Kyoko and her addition to the series definitely spice up the emotional value of the series.

There was some real fine writing in this episode! "There are many truths in this world, but she's the type to believe that there is only one truth. So if she falls in love with another man, she'd think that her love for her husband was not true."

Oh, look, Kyouko making the same vaguely acknowledgement that she's in love with Yuusaku but is unable to tell him, just like she has done before.
Waiting for Shun to come back but it's nice to see Yuusaku's grandma back next episode.
