Hi! I came across to your profile from forum post in maison ikkoku. In your signature and about section you have asked romance anime from a male point of view. This is the type of anime I love too. Cardcaptor Sakura is the anime I really want to recommend you, its a magical girl classic. 70 episode long with a movie. CCS turns to a magical girl anime to a romance anime as the serize progresses, there is a movie also, I hope you will enjoy it. And the romance is from the male lead Syaoran's point of view.

Hey, so I just finished Muv Luv TE. Around ep 20 I had the ending from the VN spoiled for me and it just sounds so awful...

Devastating considering I really liked TE's anime. Finishing those last 4 episodes became really hard. By the end though, I was just like screw it...I'll ship Yui and pretend I know nothing.

Any chance if they do a season 2 they'd change the story?

Its 13 episodes. But only watch episodes:

1, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13

Episode 7 is the most brutal moment in anime history in terms of romance.

You dont have to watch the other episodes because Boys Be follows three different stories, and only one story is good (the episodes that I recommended you).

Oh yes, and I saw Sakamichi no Apollon in your plan to watch list. It's really really good (it has a somewhat old feel that I like, but the artwork is rendered very beautifully). It's shoujo but POV from the guy instead. Definitely one of my favourite romance anime in recent times

I don't really have anything much to add. I think you have pretty much covered the whole male-perspective romance animes. I'm not sure if you liked El Hazard, but I didn't find magnificent world in your list (only wanderers). Maybe you could try that
