Last episode was lackluster in some ways, but it was pivotal and perfect for building up to this episode. This had to be one of my all time favorite anime episodes, and if it keeps up this quality it will be one of my favorite anime too. That final fight scene was one of my favorite fight scenes in anime history.

As Akira has lost his parents, he now hates devils more than anything. He's full of hatred, and sadness and he cannot contain himself. He's letting out his more demonic urges, he's craving sex like never before; having hilarious wet dreams and he's going out of his way to use a devil list of Ryo's to slaughter devils before they had even planned to, letting out his hatred and violent urges. Akira was already on a demonic descent but last episode, not only was thematically beautiful but it led to this amazing episode of furthering those ideas and developing Akira. Alike FLCL, the character development in this is giant, the episodes seem to start with Akira one way, have him learn something that changes him, and then have his world change from acting on those changes next episode- and repeat. I can't express how happy I am with this episode.

I don't think the brutal attack and rape of Silene was edgy in a bad way, it was the breaking point of him releasing all his anger out on these devils. Recall how he said, "I won't tolerate anyone who takes others lives", not even specifying human life, as well as how this was to illuminate the contradiction and the hypocrisy here? There's a double standard here and Akira is willing to go as far to brutalize and rape a form of life himself, not to forget how he tore apart devils fleeing and begging for their lives, and tolerates Ryo killing people for getting in their way. It was to maximize his descent into madness and to make his realization that devils can feel emotions, and love hit so much harder. Before it even showed us the heroic and glorious statue-like death of Silene and Kaim, I was wondering if they were going to let Akira live, that they're going to die anyway so all they needed was to triumph over him. If that's true, and Akira realizes that and he see's that devils can love then this is going to be an ever-changing experience for the man who was just at his lowest. He even nearly raped Miki when he got home late. I wonder if he'll feel guilty now for what he's done. Remember how he told Ryo how he can't get rid of the feeling of hatred, the feeling of wanting to beat the shit out of, and kill devils. It was perfectly aligned with his character at this point. I have to wonder if the distinction he constantly makes of Devilman and devils is that meaningful, in fact it may be worse to be a Devilman, at least devils aren't hypocritical in their actions, at least they don't kill each other like Ryo does to humans. The devil FBI force seemed to be actively trying to stop this.

To further the idea of devil's being reasonable and not that different than us as they also have urges they try not to act on so they can exist, was the FBI like room of devils. They were discussing finding the person who was terrorizing the devils around their area, wondering if it was one of them! Moreover, this is contrasted by the TV telling us about cops being murdered. They are not that different than humans. Kaim with his love, and Silene with her tears proved they have higher emotions than destructive urges! Don't forget the subtle emotions we see in characters such as Kaim where he takes a smoke out of jealousy for Silene not requiting his love. Those two were simple but god damn effective villains.

The scene that Ryo told Akira, who feels only hatred and sadness all the time, to escape from his emotions by acting out on urges that let him forget was telling too, going with this theme. Keep in mind that at this point in Akira's transformation he hardly physically and openly cries anymore, if at all in this episode.

Lastly, it looks like Miko and Kikun have transformed, they've embraced devils like that super highschooler, but in that fake robbery scene she showed that even with the power of a devil she still loses to Miki. Her friends ran from her to Miki's side to tell her how cool she was, and even the rappers thanked her. The clothes moving in the background kept it feeling alive in the static moments, and the body language and the voice acting of the rappers was on point. I grew fond of them for the first time in this episode, they're not bad guys at all. Moreover, the scene was there mostly for the Miki and Miko dynamic in my head. The non confrontational Miki confronted the police this time, afterwords noting she did so with Akira in mind. I can't wait for a rewatch so I can understand her character more, her development is even more nuanced and subtle than the others. Devilman has some great supporting characters for sure.

I'm glad that Silene and Kaim have some personality before being killed. So dark the fights. Finally, an anime that have the balls to do something very human. Miki vs. Miko yeah! 4/5

Wait, where was there rape in this episode? Did I miss something? Silene invited Akira in and literally took his pants off @_@ Sure, it looked pretty violent, but they're both demons after all, so it's not that unexpected.

Kind of mixed on this episode. While it was great I didn't feel like there was a true moral dilemma until the end. The action was always cooler in context of the moral gray area, that's why the human fight scenes where Akira and Roy fight with guns was just as impactful as some of the Devilman scenes. Still, I did like how the episode ended a lot.

Personally, I'm really interested to see how Devilman controls his sexual urges(that's not something I ever expected to write in life, btw). I keep having to remind myself Akira is a very young teenager. I like how the series respects the teenagers enough to treat them like young adults rather than ... well .. every other anime ever.

If he's going to ejaculate like that just from a wet dream, it's a lot safer if he'll just stick to screwing demons instead. That's exactly what he did and Silene got what she asked for and even more while Kaim just stood there jealously before he tried to step in and offered his life to her even if it'll only last for a short while. Love makes anyone do stupid things and instead of finishing Akira off, they threw it all away for a few seconds of satisfaction. Pure beings indeed.

This episode is too much. We got sperm dripping off the ceiling. Demon fucking/raping with mutilation to boot. It was just alot to stuff to stomach in one episode.

Miki is awesome tho. Really liked how she stood up to those police to protect the crew. Shit could've turned real ugly.

Well, I was expecting these villains to play a longer role on the plot, so them getting done so quickly really caught me off guard, and it left me nerveous, because that was really a close one...

Man, that was both a beastly and terrifying fusion at the end, beautiful in its own ways like something out of a Greek and Norse mythologies crossover.
It took me some time to realize that the yellow substance that was covering them was demon blood and not some kind of paint.
We've got two other Devilmen on our playground, I wonder if they realize the kind of power they have or not, that would be a devastating fight between Miku and Akira.

I feel like this show keeps dropping things that would improve its quality, but then keeps pulling me out of them with flying demon sky murder rape, masturbating onto a ceiling, or something messed up shock value like that. If it could cut those moments or make me believe they somehow have a purpose in thr story, it could bump this show up a couple points.

This episode.lmao

Akira nutted so hard it's stuck on the ceiling and lots of it too. He kept motor boating Silene.

Sucks what happened to Miko. I liked her old look better. That rapper guy also became a demon too. I don't think he's in control though since he got his friends almost killed.

Akira fucked up Sirene big time in this episode, both figuratively and literally lol. Still though, one of the best episodes of the show so far, the way the music was used in their fight was brilliant and Akira's descent into madness after his hatred for devils grew exponentially (for the deaths of his parents) is quite the sight to behold as with the anger growing inside of him, so does the demonic urges burning inside him.

Ryou will never have the same level of understanding about humans/demons as Akira has. He's so distant to be able to learn or have any kind of empathy, even having a great antique knowledge and potential to rationalize things in general - So superficial! That's why he'll never get it,

That's a lot of cum. Miki changed into a ugly ass woman. Well, It's still hard for Akira to kill Demons. But I bet he'll do it easily in a few episodes after losing himself to drugs, women etc.

Wow Miki's appearance changes completely. I wonder what happened to the rapper guy.

Silene had demon sex with Amon, the rhino demon is in love with her and sacrifices himself for her last triumph, talk about true love!
Anime is fun.

This was the best episode by far for me, really liked the fight between Akira and Silene I thought her death of being still as a statue was a nice touch. Even demons can fall in love so it seems. And man Akira didn’t hold anything back when it came to just well for a lack of a better word fucking Silene. I mean he really went for it.

I think this is probably Devilman had some trouble in his fights because so far he just slaughters his enemies effortlessly. Well the rapper boy and Miko didn’t die but they did turn into demons because Miko is now pretty buff and it was awesome when Miki stood up for the gang when the police was threatening them. Other than that awesome episode.

The fight against Silene disappointed me, especially since I watched the OVA first. Silene also looked more beautiful in the OVA. People who think this is the best episode should watch Devilman: The Demon Bird and see how inferior this is. However, I did enjoy Akira doing sexual stuff with Silene in this remake. It was absent in the OVA.

Was this episode sponsored by Pornhub or some shit? We've had unnecessary nudity in prior episodes, but this one just takes the cake. We had multiple sex scenes, non-dream and dream ones. And the entire fight shawty was naked....

And up to now, I knew that Ryou was a shitty friend, but this episode just made me realize that he's something more than just a shitty friend. I mean, this dude knows that Akira's going though a lot of shit right now, from his mom dying, to him not being able to control his emotions, and such... and just gives him money and basically says "cheer up mate"... WHAT. THE. FUCK.

Fight was cool and all, but my fuck do they need to tone it down on the unnecessary nudity.

It's interesting to observe how Western audiences became hypersensitive to a theme of rape in recent years. This is particularly noticeable in contrast to gruesome deaths of innocent people throughout the series which doesn't seem to bother anyone. Not that I'm being judgemental, it's just fascinating how rapidly cultural environment can shape public opinions.
@adios I think it's because the person doing the murdering isn't the main protagonist.

@T-PainBeDamned Good observation.
That being said it's not the first time I observed this, to say the least. But that is surely a complex issue with a lot of contributing factors. Surely, US were always hypersensitive to sexual issues, and this sites audience largely consists of US and Canadian residents. But there were also some ideological shifts in recent years which made general discourse in Western part of the world more prudish. Anyways, it's not really a place for developing this topic.
