Another great episode. Say what you will about the author's past works, but the script is pretty good so far minus the awkward boob joke that came out of no where lol. I hope the animation quality stays consistent.

Really liking the Gundam Barbatos even more. Whew.

Also, the character dynamic between Mika and Kudelia really shows the difference in their situations. Cant wait for more.

I like that this episode, after dumping so much info and so many characters and factions in the first episode, seems to take some time here to explain the conflict and were different sides are standing.

Barbatos is awesome.

Great episode.

Mikazuki has some blood loss.

Like how General Krank hesitates to fight children.

Wonder what those two guys that appeared in the end will play.

Also lol'd @ Biscuit, Cookie, and Cracker.

I don't really understand what Gjallarhorn is going for here... I assumed they were hunting the princess to quash the rebellion, but in this ep, the main commander guy thinks something like "the princess was supposed to die in order to create MORE hatred toward Earth". Which would worsen the rebellion. Do they want Mars to separate or not? I'm confused...

To be fair with the writer, its kinda like a tradition of Gundam to have characters with "peculiar" names.

Trust me, Biscuit, Cookie and Craker are NOT the worst ones...

I can already see how Olga dies.....remember that the Gundam's nanomachines system needs a child? Mika WILL be put out of commission sometime and Olga'll pilot it and die due to rejection or something.

PS. Since it says it's a child that it needs, Mika's probably in his 15.....and Kudelia looks 18+, no MikaxKude :(

The battle has good choreography and I'm loving it. Glad that Mika didn't hesitate to use any strategy to win the fight. For the rest, it's great like all others have said.

Next episode will be a GLORIOUS DEMISE. I'm just starting to like Crank and he'll be gone in the next episode. Guess that's some more character development for Ein. Here's hoping for another great battles in the next ep.

Whoever is writing this; stick to this, man.

(I honestly do not follow gundam for politics or that side of the story, more the fighting and personal relationship between the soldiers/pilots and their comrades, so I'm well aware I likely stated something wrong here)

The same creator of Toradora...

Wrong...same script writer and person in charge of series composition as Toradora. Toradora is not Okada's original work, it was an adaptation. But yeah, you can probably expect some (melo)drama in the coming episodes.

I enjoyed this episode, especially the part with Aina learning that she doesn't actually know anything. I like seeing characters understand their own faults or weaknesses, and then going forward from there. Although she's not technically at the going forward stage yet, but she's getting a better understanding now. I also like that she's smart enough to know that the target was her and her father probably approved of this.

Barbatos is an interesting mech, it does seem like it was pumping blood or something into Mikazuki, and not the other way around. It definitely took a toll on Mikazuki.

Krank not wanting to fight against children was good to see too, at least not everyone in the military will be loyal brainless soldiers. Although I can see Krank dying soon. Anyways, so far so good with establishing of the position the children are in and what they want to do.

One thing that has surprised me so far is how the war drama actually works. It's believable, unlike so often in anime
This, from mari okada of all fucking people, the person notorious for doing drama that isnt believable.

Great episode, loving the characters so far and am getting some serious 079 flashbacks with its portrayal of both sides of the war, with the higher ups being complete douchebags with some decent ones while the soldiers receive the short end of the stick due to their greed and incompetence, that was my favorite part of 079 and it was sadly lost in the future installments either in favor of a complete gray morality(which is arguably better) or unfortunate more prevalent foreys into just straight up hurr durr im evil bad guys (looking at you zeta gundam)

unfortunately hes gonna die next episode most likely since they show the black haired guy gripping his medal in the opening though i definetly will prefer it if he backstabs the army and switches sides, I actually wonder if the char and garma look alikes arent going to actually be our char clones but rather the black haired dude will be. I also wonder whenever starting up a new gundam as to who the main antagonist is going to be by the end, so far i got no clue with only the char lookalike being a possible candidate.

Oh, and i like how Mika bashed on Princess's cliche words (Ihappen to like this kinda type of MC, seriously)

This was a great second episode. The action was very entertaining and fluid. Mikazuki fighting those other Mobile Suit pilots on his own was really something. He lost a lot of blood though and his fuel ran out pretty quickly. Kudelia felt really guilty about the whole situation and the amount of people that died. RIP Danji though, his dream was to die in someone's breasts. ;~;

Orga having to take up a huge beating from the leader of the First Corps was brutal. I really like Orga though, he's one tough guy. The OP is so hype, really like the visuals too. The ED is quite nice, beautiful visuals. Biscuit's siblings called Cookie and Cracker gave me a good laugh. xD Really liking this anime and hope it keeps being this good.

So, is Mikazuki some kind of.....Cyber-Newtype?

Nice battle scene this time, I like how Mikazuki didn't give a damn about being "cowardly", there's no honor in battlefield.

Barbatos Gundam's design is quite nice, a melee-type Gundam eh.

It's a Char?

I'm loving the interactions between Aina and Mikazuki. Although Mikazuki is harsh, I think it's good for her; if she's sincere in her peace-promoting activities, then she needs a full picture. The way Orga handled his beating made for an excellent scene, and the Orga/Mikazuki interactions continue hold promise as well. Krank's reluctance to fight children reminded me a lot of how the original MSG portrayed both sides of the war, as Jizzy mentioned. I appreciated that.

The action side of the episode was good. I'm glad there was an explanation for Mikazuki being able to make full use of the Gundam from the get-go. The combat tactics were appropriate for a war setting (no nonsensical version of honor before reason), and gave the enemy a legitimate reason to retreat.

The overall political background is still a bit fuzzy, but we still have plenty of time for that.

It was an impressive second episode; IBO looks a lot more promising now.

I completely disagree. While it might sound odd if you're thinking of it as some form of fanservice (which your "poor choice of words" seems to imply), the soldier who said that was actually in a state of intense mental stress. He probably joked with Danji about dying that way before, but now that Danji has truly died, his friend is falling back on it as a coping mechanism.

I thought it was a surprisingly appropriate reaction for a group of immature male teens forced into the military.

They want to worsen the rebellion so Earth has an excuse to crush Mars/quell any possibility of independence, I think. Independence might be more likely to happen through politics than war. If they can force war, their interests in Earth maintaining control of Mars are satisfied.

I like how Kudelia put two and two together and immediately acknowledged that her father could be involved in the attack against her. Especially more so since we usually get idiots who refuse to believe it even when they're told it straight out. Props to Okada Mari for that. Also, please have her stay in those clothing and that ponytail for the rest of the series. She looks so much better this way.

Yep, when he got into the gundam he couldn't read the screen and asked the engineer what it was saying. The engineer then mentioned that those guys were uneducated and the reason they have those implants was so that they could gain the ability to pilot the mech (through the machine basically telling them how to). Notice that no one on Gjallarhorn has those.

I thought this was a really awesome way to justify using younger MCs compared to most other mecha out there and it fits the child soldier thing they have going on well.

I get Relena + Leila from Code Geass from Kudelia. Which I hope she does not become useless later and nowhere close to... Asseylum. And at least so far she is not worshipped like Lacus.

Overall, good action, I suppose the loss-blood situation will be used as a plot device.

Better than episode 2, but I can stand hardly any of the characters. If they were hommages to older Gundam characters that'd be fine, but all of them, without exception, are just simple cliche's and stereotypes from anime and media in general, and the voice acting is bad too.

This was really good. I very much enjoyed it - the tone, the characters, the action, the dialogue, the political/military situation ... all spot on. Mika and Orga have this spectacular chemistry that is quite prevalent in their scenes together, which I found really nice to watch. The scene between the two of them at the end of the episode was probably my favorite of the episode.

Needless to say, I can't wait for next week.

Know, I been wandering how much is the budget for hair care in this series? With Kudelia & Orga I’m curious to know how many hair sprays they bought to maintain that style… Lol!
