| Finally getting into this show a bit, because this was the best episode so far. Not sure if it's crunchyrolls subs but some of these sexual innuendos in the dialogue are cringeworthy lmao. "I can feel myself going deeper inside you" haha. |
| I think it's the best episode out of all 4. We finally see Hiro piloting, but it's kinda meh that he has no trouble piloting Strelizia, like, everything's too good for him to be true. I like that I saw some teamwork in this episode, but the other characters still seem too weak, and Ichigo even if she's the leader (at least I think she is) she only talks about responsibility but doesn't do anything important in fact. The art is the best thing in this anime, I really like the characters design, and Mitsuru's too even if he's so damn annoying. I hope from now on this anime will get better. I read one review on this, it said that ''This show is about characters having sex in giant robots.'' and it's kinda.... true. I think if there was another way of piloting and the possibility of two people of the same gender piloting the same mecha would be better. And the characters, be it their nice design, look like 12 year-olds. |

But this episode is full with energy and I hope when the blu-ray comes out Masayoshi Tanaka will get around to fix some character shots. Anyway, I really like this episode. The spirit of Gainax is truly alive and passed onto new generation. |

| Now the show is finally found its groove and this episode was really impressive. At least this should stop the silly comparison between Hiro and Shinji Ikari for now as Hiro showed his backbone and declared to Zero Two that he wanted to pilot with her. Her smile must be protected! =D Apart from Hiro's surprising innuendo about "going deeper insider her", which made me chuckle, the following action animation was very good. It looks like Trigger handled this episode, not sure how much, but it was still really well done though. =) |

For now, Hiro seems to be turning a corner as well, but the other pilots suck, and I hope they become klaxosaur fodder. I really dislike Zorome, but I do hope he improves. Miku isn't so bad, but still just snobby. I get though that it's a big cast, so it's hard to give everyone proper shine. Nana is the worst though with her flawed logic at every single turn. |
| I agree that this is the best episode so far. Finally the story progresses with Hiros confessions which is way better made than I've exspected. You can actually feel the desperation of Hiro and his relief afterwards as they run to the FranXX. Also the teamwork is a nice addition to the combat. However, the scenes showing Hiro struggle to make a descision at the beginning of the episode are to rushed in my opinion and fail to built up a appropriate atmosphere for this story determining moment. I hope the next episodes will focus on our main duo and worldbuilding because there are still so many questions about world's society unanswered. I've lost my interest in the other pilots as they seem as bland as in the first episode. So I will be somewhat disappointed if their character interactions becomes the main focus once again. |

| It's nice that we finally see some action but fighting scenes were pretty lousy. As far as mecha combat goes whatever Sterlizia was doing around that worm thing was really underwhelming. I just don't know if they didn't have time to make decent battle or is it just their style. |

| Bought time!!! He finally got in the robot! Gotta say I'm still in love with the mech designs. This episode definitely had some amazing action scenes and the look Zero Two gave Ichigo right before the final attack was sweet. |

It does seem she drains lots of stamina but Hiro seems to be taking it well but it's probably not good for him to go on for a long time. Small burst fights should be completely safe for him. |

Not everything in this show is meant to be interpreted through the lens of sex; the show also serves as a lens through which to look at romantic relationships and the question of trust. | Waiting was totally worth it xD Best episode! This episode was hilarious, especially Hiro & Zero Two moment inside the Strelizia, their lines hahaha This is an anime about a boy and a girl riding a giant Mecha? Right? xD The action was superb and the plot made this episode the best one yet. But for real, this episode was really good. At the beginning, i was afraid that he would be like Shinji, but after this episode, i can safely say that he is not. Really enjoyed his little "speech"/declaration and when she said "how can i leave my darling after this" 10/10. Can't wait for more!!! Loving this one. I don't know what to say xD  |

Well, there's no beating around the bush anymore, the(dare i say) BOLD and flamboyant use of innuendo and sexual OVERtones is a staple of the series. so I don't blame someone for being turned off by that blunt delivery. Its kindof our societal programming with sex that causes us to cringe at such open remarks about it though... but i digress. IDC. I Love this show. I'm dying laughing when he says "im so deep inside you" and the fact that the title for the episode is has clear double meaning "Flap Flap". Yup, Birdman Hiro has combined with 02 in the analogy they set up with the birds and set soaring to the skys! Also....maybe im finding what i want to find but cmon...... just a coincidence? Flap Flap.....Hmmm what does that sound like. Too be fair, im clearly just a child. |
| On other notes. This was a fun episode. i agree with many that the horn poke was cute. and the smirk to ichigo was devlish and wonderful. There is no wonder 02 is getting so many "best girl" comments already. there is a lot of characterization thrown into her scenes more so then most characters in anime ontop the rest of the cast of this one. And, TRIGGER. nuff said yeah? Just take over as much of this production as possible and we will all be happier for it. |
| Papa and the higher ups will notice what happened but probably not in a positive way. Since they wanted to seperate them it will be interesting what they do now. One thing is clear that they cannot hold back Zero Two now how they always did since her Darling finally broke the rules how she wanted it the whole time. Some simple punishment will not do it because she is now ready to risk anything since she is so close to her plans like never before in her life. Her next step should be to induct Hiro about her true intentions (let's hope for some flashbacks of their childhoods soon, I want to know so badly how her past was.) It's highly possible that Papa knows that Zero Two wants to escape from APE once she finds a compatible partner and now this is the case. I predict that Zero Two and her plan "to run away with Darling" will happen soon (and I mean probably in the next episodes). Or they fail to escape with Strelizia and will be imprisoned or some other punishment will come. Anyway I see one hell of an interesting story coming at us since the prolouge is finished and next events will be anything but Klaxosaur battles every episode or training. The core of this plot is all about our main pair to break out of their birdcages and to fight the twisted authority of this world I think. |
