I have noticed that you watched Hyouge Mono. sorry if this is out of nowhere, but i really like Hyouge Mono that i actually browsed people who have watched it. Do you mind if i have some discussion with you about the show? i thirst for people who like to discuss it. the thing is most people i know didnt watch it or dont like to discuss things. again i am sorry for coming out of no where, but i dont really know how to start a conversation.

Saw your forum post for recommendations and came here. Not sure if you are into sports anime, but you should check out the Major series. I actually got into it not expecting much but I was pretty much dead wrong. Interesting and goes through the full circle of baseball and life. Great binge watch as well (I ended up binging all 6 seasons and OVAs in about a week).

... But as it seems, we seem to share medium high affinity as far as anime goes! How cool is that! :>

You asked about if the TV series was based on The Princess and the Pilot. And my answer is no. Both have different story and character. I recommending watching both, but the movie is better out of the two if you have to choose one.

Yes Volume 5 picks up right where the second series finished.

I believe Volume 5 is dedicated to the development of Koneko.

And I know what you mean about balancing things out. Most of my uber serious shows are live action though. DxD gets very serious the more it goes on but it still maintains its light hearted aura of fun

Can't compare it to anything because I haven't read many Light Novels but it's really, really good. I prefer it to the average English novel.

It gets ecchier than ever and develops actually quite a decent story, by the genre's standards.

Sadly Season 2 stopped RIGHT BEFORE IT GETS AWESOME. Season 2 ends at Volume 4 of the LN and Volumes 5-11 have some seriously epic moments.

And yes, Akeno, like all the others, has her own volume, dedicated solely to the development of her character amongst other things.

Have you tried reading the DxD Light Novel?

Fair warning, the last plot twist they had really caught me off guard big time. Its going to be similar kinda twist to the Gorilla... you'll see.

Just posted this as a response to your take on the weird turn. Stick with it dude. The king torture part is enjoyable after a while but be prepared for a really "wtf" turn after that ends. Get past that and then you get back to the feelings the first set of episode gives you:

As I said before to you Dofy on your profile, stick with it. The weird twists aren't over from episode 7 but it does get better. The show makes fun of a lot of the regular super hero tropes while using them to bring out a series of plot twist that make you think "wtf" up until you see the final plot twist which sets the final arc in motion.

The feeling you got from the beginning returns in the next few episodes and I have a feeling you'll enjoy king torture's character.

Here's my advice. Try to take this series easy and relax through it. When the show gets serious it gets back the feeling of the first episodes all over again. Trust in Samumenco and keep going.

Well, he just doesn't understand that most character development in visual novels usually have stories behind them. You know, like pasts? Does that make sense? Maybe it's just me.
