Great episode!

Just gun blazing and action!

Faye didn't need to interfere battle, but i'm glad she did since it shows she cares about Spike :)

Mad Pierrot is crazy!!! This reminded me on one of those Metal Gear Solid or No More Heroes bosses or those contractors from Darker Than Black :P

He was voiced by Banjou Ginga? I knew he sounded familiar :)

It looks like the pain he felt was too much for him to handle.

I notice how a lot of characters here are either mentally ill or being experimented on with drugs or any super enhancing program.

Good stuff! Only 6 episodes left! T__T

Can't wait for the next episode!

This episode is my least favourite, it was pointless and just didn't feel like cowboy bebop to me. I don't know..

yup.

Every series has an episode that you'd see as the weakest one - for me it is this one, and clearly so. I usually skip it on rewatching.

As a fan of Ray Bradbury and having watched some ooold films, I understand the (horror/insanity) fascination with amusement parks, but it almost exclusively works in them ooold works from about the 1950s and before. Sometimes it also works well with Childhood films.
But other than those - nowadays costumes, clowns and "freaks" are just not really scary anymore. Noone really correlates amusement parks with "creepy supernatural" anymore.
and even if - then it still does not really work in a sci-fi/ non-supernatural setting.

Still better than the amusement park theme in Deadman Wonderland.

His laugh got really annoying, really fast, but it was a great display of his insanity.
This is definitely one of the best episodes from Bebop. I like how it was directed.

It was all about atmosphere, and I must say this might the best episode I've seen; not just in this show, but the entire genre.
Anyone else notice all the ringing sounds when Spike tried to blow Perriot up?
It was like you were right there with Spike, listening to the trauma of his eardrums.

Also loved the part where Faye steals and eats Spike's orange right in front of him. Faye is hilarious.

So true, when I seen the preview in episode 19 I was left being like wtf!
Then damm!!! Amazing episode, really one of the best episodes so far (Spike backstory are also great), it had such a different and darky mood to it, and it worked so well since we had yet to see something like this in Cowboy Beboop. Really makes you think about some of its messages too.
10/10 episode.

The animation in this episode was insanely good! Spike's first person sequence from the beginning was a standout for me. Loved it! Anyone know of any series with this style (first person and/or insanely fast paced) of animation?

A real Batman villain. Well, he was basically Penguin. I felt sorry for him at the end, Bebop has these depressing episodes that are on a completely different level than the usual comedy.

Man I loved the creepy vibe to this episode. What coincidence with Spike running into him. But what a perfect, creepy way to make their first encounter, in a dark back alley after leaving a bar/poor lounge.
Mad Perriot was so beast and badass, too. Could fly, and had some sort of electrical field around him. And his insane laugh :D

Pretty sad though when he reverts to like child-like form and starts crying for his "mommy." Surprised that big thing was able to just crush him. He was a full-grown adult, though.. And the scenes where he was getting experimented on.. D: Kinda like the scenes with Wrath in FMA:b.

Who this villiian/ep kinda reminded me of with his hysterical laugh though was the crazy Christian character who rode on a horse and started that christian cult in that one episode of Samurai Champloo. I dont mean to relate a lot of these episodes together but a lot of them have episodes that seem to relate (which isnt a bad thing at all for me). Both are directed by Watanabe as well so it's no surprise. At first I was of the agreement I enjoyed Samurai Champloo more but as this series continues its not such an easy decision for me anymore.

Very noir atmospheres and full of seemingly surreal situations, but which are not. An episode to see it all in one breath, in which some elements Hard Boiled, are the masters. Interesting the pairing of man's cruelty to his fellow men and adolescent's immaturity. Drawings and animations, very good, all the characters to live and to enjoy until the end; this is class!

This Episode takes what I love about a villain and puts it into Mad Pierrot. A dark, pitiable past, resulting in an even more pitiable villain with a disturbing and twisted character.

Very weird episode, that I still enjoyed.

However, I felt so bad for Pierrot in the end. He didn't choose to be who/what he was, and to see him lying there, crying for this mother and then being crushed to death was... harsch and unsetteling.

Ughhhhh probably the most chilling episode of anything I've ever watched. I hate creepy shit, man. Everybody saying this episode is great but man to me it's just a mix of boring and ultra-creepy. Which I guess is good to some... to each their own.
I was especially creeped out by Spike shooting the animatronic that wouldn't shut up, and most of all by Pierrot getting freaked out by the cat and shooting it to pieces. Something about the animation of the cat-shooting really freaked me and nearly made me cry (I'm a cat person and a sucker tho, so y'know ignore me)

What did I just watch? Oh yeah... A laughing fat guy bouncing around and killing people. I'm sure this was very original for its time, but a lot here just felt cliche, and really out of place for this show

With his umbrella gun Pierrot reminded me from the off of The Penguin from Batman LOL!

He was insane, so he was experimented on and turned in to a killing machine but also regressed back in to a child like state mentally. Intriguing.

Poor Spike, he saw and then had to pay the consequences and it was crazy in the theme park! and poor him getting shot, poor Spike baby ;___________;
