I looked it up seems to be a made up term. Instead of naming Christianity or Catholicism they say C教 (C religion). And instead of Poland it's P王国 (kingdom of P). So it's a kind of self censorship.
Yes, they are. But you'll see a mention to "Poland" in chapter 59 of the manga. The author somehow changed his mind there. Or it's another story in another country.

Oczy & Badeni said:
"About what you mentioned earlier, what is the chance of success?"
"It's quite unlikely."
"Wonderful. It's worth the anticipation to the very ending."
I'm not sure what the author intended to convey through this conversation. But he may have had similar notion to the following quote. It's a talk that I heard on the radio and has nothing to do with the show.
In a radio program, a script writer said:
One of my colleague, another script writer of a radio program, proposed an event to release balloons with postal cards and get replies from the audience. I thought "What are you talking about, idiot. It never flies so far". But the result was astonishing. Next week, a man walking at a sea shore in a distant prefecture happened to find one of the post cards. He happened to be a listener of the radio program and returned the post card. I regretted my attitude. The possibility is extremely low the post card to fly that far and to be found by one of listeners of the program. But it happened. The essence of entertainment planning lies there. The lower the success rate, the more exciting the show becomes.

Jesus Christ, characters keep dying! I'm starting to think Novak is the true main character, but after this ep, I think he's also probably gonna die soon...

Oh man I don't know how I'd feel if they tortured Jolenta more. She's a "must protec" type. I'm glad the inquisitor helped her escape, but it will certainly cost him his life.
What is Nowak going to do now though? Will he escape with daughter or will he go apeshit and start dropping bodies left and right?
I have no empathy for Nowak whatsoever, but even though it's karma his own daughter was proclaimed a heretic (no evidence needed to prove she is, as we saw), still Jolenta doesn't deserve suffering, obviously.

Rip to our heroes. Their death was inevitable. At least they weren't burned first.
I'm surprised Badeni kept the records. If church keeps them somewhere secret, that's still better than it getting destroyed.

Anyway, this was an amazing episode!

That episode was too short! But I have finally caught up with this anime, and watching this episode was brutal. I really thought Oczy and Badeni could survive for the rest of the series, but I was wrong. Trying to use Jolenta to bring down Nowak is very low. I hope this makes Nowak confront his beliefs and possibly turn against the church. I can’t wait to see where we go from here. (10/10)

This goes to show that Nowak is one of the best villains out there. He's nightmare fuel, and he even kept his daughter in the dark about being an inquisitor seeing that had Jolenta known about it, there was no way she was going to be this open about her research into heretical stuff. And to think that he knew that Badeni was hiding something goes to show just how ruthless he is.

I'm also wondering how Nowak is getting out of this situation... I really don't see a way.

Definitely not talking his way out of this. That senior inquisitor seems to have a personal grudge, and it would be easy for him to sell the narrative that Jolenta was the witch who charmed Badeni, Oczy, and now that young inquisitor who helped her escape. Who knows whether she charmed her own father as well?

It also doesn't help that she escaped. If she stayed put getting tortured, maaaybe Nowak could've argued that she's an innocent victim, but her escape "proves" her guilt (crap logic, but it's a witch trial, after all).

But Nowak is a smart guy, so he may have some ace up his sleeve... like some dirt on the senior inquisitor that he can use for blackmail.

Or he can go crazy and become violent, but that will instantly make him public enemy number 1 and he'll never be able to live in peace. And honestly that would be a less interesting direction for me...

At first I felt like the two inquisitor kids would be the new MC's carrying on the work but after saving Jolenta, I doubt the brown hair kid will last that long.

Can't wait for Novak to kill the guys that hurt Jolenta.

@kuroneko99

The title card in the first page of chapter 58 uses the words "Year 1470 Poland". In contrast, chapter 1 uses "15th century P Kingdom" to emphasize that the story takes place in a fictional world.

Volume 8 is the first time the word "Poland" appears in the series, emphasizing the distinction between these two alternate universes.

very time I watch an episode of this anime, it reminds me of a point in the life, but it's impossible, time doesn't match! My memories betray me!
12 years? Incredible but true for advanced or "smart" people!
The death of both confirms the theory, the person doesn't matter, but the idea!
Pulling out her teeth? Too cruel, but natural at that time, and they could be even crueler, especially since she's a woman!
Nowak's daughter escaped, but at what price?

Badeni realizing the true grievance of a father almost having his own daughter be converted to heliocentrism, Nowak has no reason not to torture them as hard as he can.

At thsi point, Nowak will not listen to reasoning, until he sees the evidence for himself, forcing Badeni to take the extreme measure to reveal Rafal's chest, which is exactly how he remembered the 12-year-old leaving it under extreme secrecy that it wouldn't be found, until this moment. Even as the two men know that they're heading to execution, leaving all of the words to Oczy might be for the best, because his writing will spread far. As the two stand out to the night sky, seeing the entrance to hell, the faith of heliocentrism is not so bad after all, being the salvation the world needs against false teachings of Catholicism.

The 2 newbie Inquisitors questioning their roles in the Church, and one of them certainly is more second guessing of what he does, as both met Jolenta to question her involvement with both Oczy and Badeni, and the Church labelling her as a heretic just as such. I feel pity for the two guys having to perform their roles out for order, only to have one of the seasoned veterans showing them how it's done to resort to the same measures. With the one guy not willing to resort to torture, he planned Jolenta's escape.

Kudos to the nice Inquisitor kid, but will Jolenta escape in time?

Bro what the fuck. I just caught up after falling behind a bit in December and I can't believe how these last few eps transpired. The main characters died, again?! Then Jolenta is about to be tortured? Man okay I can see how Nowak may end up "flipping sides" in a sense with what has happened with his daughter and I think there's a few characters from the OP we haven't seen yet so maybe another MC. I swear if the next OP has Jolenta at the starting raising her head imma be impressed.

Not gonna lie, I felt uneasy and couldn't stay still while watching this episode, especially the first few minutes.... it was very painful and scary. I felt horrible and scared T__T

And omg, didn't expect Jolenta to find out about her father's job so soon. Well it was inevitable but gosh, she had to experience this torture too... kinda relieved she managed to escape but honestly scared too... who knows what Nowak will do after knowing this...

The crazy thing about this anime is you never really know when the current set of MCs just dies. Its like what people thought Walking Dead and Game of Thrones were, nobody is save. It can hit everyone.

Wow just wow, Badeni really surpassing my expectation with his determination to protect Oczy further pain. After all he's just a pure priest, he can't be a perfect martyr like Rafal. Thus same with Oczy. But this duo surely have their own charm on this second part. Tho for further detail about Badani's plan preserving the research, gonna be another mindblowing set for the next. Looking forward....

Seeing Oczy and Badeni suffer was heavy for me and my heart and after that Jolenta was gonna face the same faith.

I hate Nowak, but that doesn't mean I wanna see her daughter, Jolenta to suffer even I a part of wish that he feels the same sorrow that he inflicted on others with family.

I'm sure it won't be easy for Nowak when he learns about his daughter getting involved like we saw at the ending.
