Glad to see you giving Logh a try as I mentioned a few months ago!
I think it would be a good idea to watch the 2nd movie Arata no Overture http://myanimelist.net/anime/3016/Ginga_Eiyuu_Densetsu:_Arata_Naru_Tatakai_no_Overture

Eventhough it's an expanded retelling of the battle in the 1st couple of episodes, and it's best to have watched it earlier in the series (either before the start of the Ova or by episode 4 or so), it's still very worthwhile since it has important backstory and can amplify some of the tragic events from the first season.

Interesting, I have been hearing from many that ZZ may not be as terrible as it's paltry rating seemingly indicates. I have heard that it does a decent job with humor and not taking itself too seriously, which could make a nice contrast from the endlessly dragging 2nd half of Zeta. I will likely give it a go eventually, if only due to it being a prequel to Char's Counterattack and Unicorn which i would want to watch to complete a part of the Gundam universe.

Still ZZ is not a high priority of mine since i'd rather complete other staples from back in the day like Hokuto No Ken (I see you also think highly of it, not surprisingly since our tastes and scores seem to be pretty similar).

If there was one anime I'd highly advise you to watch it would be Logh. You have seen enough of the staples of anime to be able to truly appreciate it. After watching it any Gundam anime will seem like a poor joke relative to it, although that is applicable to nearly every anime even not of the space/military genre.

The dialogue in Monogatari is when they repeat the same thing using slightly different language, Arararagi's only defining trait is that he likes little girls and it the whole shows tries to act smart even though it's just a redundant harem.
Deep witty wordplay, spaztic camera movements, man you are so shallow don't you see how deep this is, brb dropping 10,000 bucks on this shit.

Haha dude, i watched some episodes of Fist of the north star when i was a child, i've decided to see it full only in these days, epic anime is epic.

I cannot fathom how Uchuu Senkan Yamato and Harlock came from the same place. Yamato would go on to influence shows like Macross, Legend of Galactic Heroes, Heroic Age, and more. On the other hand I can't feel harlock's influence at all. It's not like that was the first story with a gentlemanly pirate lord, and that's about all it had going for him. Just thinking about Harlock makes me remember the slovenly earth government, and the absolutely ridiculous treatment Harlock gave that little girl.
