That was.. visually one of the most interesting anime I've watched in a while, especially for a rom-com. It is a little over the top sometimes but that just makes it more intriguing to look at. I think it definitely made it more interesting to watch compared to if this had standard animation

Yeah, try to catch people interest with wacky "camera movement" to hide totally horrendous animation. They used 2 (TWO) models of cars for most scenes. Furniture, floors, stairs, walls, everything looked like it was made with basic models by underpaid artists. You people are either blind or never seen a good CGI. The voice actor of MC is also a total miss IMO. Definite no.

Nice first episode. The VA's voice matches her character really well. Funny how she didn't have a backup pair of glasses in case she broke her main ones. Feel for her though; not having her glasses two days in a row, falling asleep in class and getting bonked on the head by the teacher :(

>nooo please do not come near meeee I cant let the girl i like touch meee i need to get away from the girl i like aaaaa pleeeaaase you are toooo cloooose!!!!

I can't stand this shit. I can't fucking believe that every romcom mc has to be the most pathetic, most annoying, most repulsive loser ever. No human in the world would act like this. Japan, forget this trope, I fucking beg you, that's why your fertility rate drops year by year.

Also she didn't even notice the fact that she can't see shit till she got into the classroom? How did she even survive? How did she find her place? Why is her desk in the back of the classroom instead of being close to the table????????

I wasn't even able to watch half of the episode without getting a brain aneurysm. This shit is unwatchable.

How is this a 7+?
The jokes are weak. And neither the off pacing nor the overacting help. It's all so forced and unfunny ... it hurts.

The shots and camera angles in the first 3 or so minutes were experimental, and I still don't know if I love them or hate them. There was certainly an uncanny aura around them, and yet I was still super invested in them. I don't think I could watch an entire anime with these kinds of shots, but if given in small doses they could really give the anime some spice

Overall a really solid first episode

That's how an average middle schooler would act. At least some that I had known acted like that. You should act like that yourself. You just forgot. I was reminded of how awkward I was since my brother was a middle schooler. All dudes around the age of 12-15 act very awkward and pathetic, especially toward girl (cause you know, that's when puberty hits). #touchgrass

I’m 15, middle school boys do not act like this.
Yeah, kids don't act like this, but middle school boys would act like that if it wasn't that in our society kids are encouraged to grow up faster and they act like they are 19 when they are 14 and like 40 years old when they are 19.

People blinded by animation, saying top tier, mc is scaredy virgin chicken being flustered over single touch or single word, mc girl is ma ma good. Saving point for now is only animation this generation of kids is flexin on and raising rating to the top. Thats why old animes are top tier

Annoying and disturbing camera angles for some reason. I'd just like to say "STOP!" but obviously, they won't... I really x3 like the story though.

P.S. Now that someone said GoHands in their comments, I get to see "Hand Shakers" from their registered list... I see... (I guess I watched some series from them as well).

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

It's like I'm watching Guilty Gear with Unreal Engine Marketplace assets for backgrounds, kek. They don't look bad, but they could use a bit higher resolution textures. I like this art style though, gorgeous. 3D scenes in anime have come such a long way since the crappy 3D scenes in Naruto and RWBY.

I do wish they would use inverse kinematics for animating the 3D characters though. Like come on, it takes about 10 minutes to set up a character in Blender/Maya with IK and then you won't have the feet sliding on the floor anymore. It's really not hard or time consuming at all. Plus it makes all the other animations easier too. Unless they use Unreal Engine, where it's way more complex.

Now if only the MC could be less cringe...

Overdone wide angle camera shots and paperdoll movement aside, the art seems quite good. Unfortunately thus far the characters have not matched that quality. We never really got introduced to these two, and the guy's constant "scared chicken" behavior as someone put it earlier is pretty annoying. Maybe he'll grow out of it, but IMO they should have spent more of this episode establishing characterization rather than diving right into the blindness antics.

Honestly felt like I was watching Aharen v2, with the same "always shocked/overthinking" ML by fml and a soft spoken/blind cute fml. Some of the CG parts were pretty goofy but it looked mostly ok when they didn't use it.

Okay, so obviously because this is a Studio GoHands work, people will all be focusing on the animation and camera angles. Yes, I can complain all I want about the terrible composition, angles, and 3D work, but what fun is there in doing that? To be honest, it wasn't all that bad, there are far worse produced shows out there, but of course, the angles do get a bit distracting. The romcom elements themselves are decent, but I hope it doesn't get too repetitive with the comedy. Just a very wholesome, comfy show it seems. Despite its shortcomings, still probably one of the better premieres so far, but perhaps the bar has been set quite low to start this summer season.

Wow man, I loved it but also wow it was different in terms of art and animation lol, but I think I liked how it looked too even though I was weirded out at first. The 3D backgrounds with the animated characters looked off at times but most of the time it worked well imo, couldn’t really take my eyes off it lol.

And that was just the technical aspect of things, the show itself is very good, I really enjoyed the moments between Mie and Komura, Mie’s lack of vision and Komura being super jumpy made for some great bits, I especially liked the bit with the shoes lol. But it didn’t last long because at the end she already has contacts, that’s cool but I also hope this doesn’t mean we’ll never see her with glasses again because we didn’t get to see it much in this first episode.

But with that, I think we have a good ass show on our hands, this is one I’m gonna really look forward to every week! Now this has me wanting to check out GoHands’ other show this season, but I’m not decided on that yet.

I really love the manga and I have high hopes for the adaptation (although I hope that they won't try to squeeze too much in 13 episodes). I'm not much familiar with Studio GoHands, but I find their animation perspective really weird. The first 3 minutes of the episode made me feel dizzy.

But when the animation is normal, it's really beautiful. I love the closeups on Mie's face, her hair and her eyes. Mie's seiyuu also does an awesome job with her soothing voice.

As for Komura, yeah, didn't liked him at start in the manga too.

If you enjoyed this episode, be sure to read the manga. It's really wholesome and so sweet that it should have warning about diabetes.

There's a lot to unpack here. Why did they start the episode with early 00s level of car CG if they wanted to hook people in with an unusual shots? Why not just not show the street if they are unable to draw normal cars moving. They definitely tried to bite more than they can chew, since for the most part the animation was just plain ugly and off putting. First of all, there was no point for shots like these. They don't communicate anything, don't show anything more than normal shots and are not visually appealing with such horrid object models and jarring mix of full CG with drawn pictures. Animation was so annoying it almost made me miss that damn awful opening exposition inner talk. It's an anime, show things with movement instead of copying narration blocks from the manga.

Oh ye, the moment a car ran through imaginary Mie I burst out laughing, since it was so dumb and made me recall Truck-kun jokes. Especially Zombieland Saga. This episode was such a dumb mess. The manga has its charm but it's one of these series that are unfit for animation because there's barely anything in them to show.

The "camera" angles are way over the top. For me, it added absolutely nothing to the scene. Not to mention I dropped it halfway through the episode because Komura was making me cringe. Definitely a drop this season.

It's amazing to see that even a simple slice of life romantic comedy, Gohands finds a way to make it the most unwatchable thing ever from putrid art direction, acid trip cinematography, and seizure inducing animation. Why is every anime they do post-2012 has to look like K and continue to look worse lol.

Gohands is really the poor man's Shaft

I see Gohands is being as extra as ever with their animation. It is impressive they try to do these things, but they always go a bit too far. I think they should just reel it in a bit with the sweeping camera motions and Mie's hair. Her hair was constantly moving I swear!

Nice episode though. I'm familiar the authors other work about the movie fan girl. This one seems nice too so far.

It seems that it will be good.

What caught my attention the most is the animation and the "camera" movements they made at random moments, I would say that it is somewhat "showy" to put it in some way, honestly I don't know what to think, possibly those won't seem so strange to me for the next episode.

The protagonist does not convince me at all, Komura seems like he would be the typical "protagonist full of nerves", possibly he will change in the next episodes.

I'm going to give it a chance, see if it completely convinces me, since with this first episode it hasn't been like that.

Can clearly see GoHands animation right off the bat. Is it better though? Definitely an improvement over a certain previous work of theirs but something still feels off. I don't remember the term for it but it's when the character motion doesn't match the background. It still feels a bit like that. Seems like a lot if not all of the background is 3D as well, which might be why it feels like they don't match. Also those scenes that are slightly sped up and some of the weird angle shots felt somewhat jarring too.

Not a particular fan of the male lead but the female lead is very cute but her eyesight is very... questionable. It's all fine if played for jokes but I can't help but wonder. I'm nearsighted myself but whatever vision she has seems to be extreme if she has to dig her face into her books to see. She might live close but with the mistakes she makes, I'm still surprise she manages to make it to school or home.

I guess if I have this much to say about the show, I'm at least intrigued by it.

Oh man, I'm not impressed. The manga was great at portraying all the emotions and awkwardness just with facial expressions, and here Komura was narrating through the whole thing almost non-stop, explaining even most obvious things. All subtlety completely gone. Did they forget they were making an anime, not an audiobook?
