Looks like everyone already back into their senses, eh? Kabu-Dence, by the power of unity, that engaged everyone, even the system itself, finally finished the last and only angry Gadoll. By the help of Jill, they could create a nice upgrade for the Deca-Dence. Great! The punch was not a punch anymore. Then, unfortunately Kabu used his limiter power to unleashed the greatest amount of energy to help Deca-Dence reach its limit. And then, its end! That was surely a massive amount of a joy. Eventhough i must be honest that their resolution kinda rushed, and be forced. The relations between cyborg and human. But, in general, its okay, its understandable, how short amount of this serialization had on its duration. What happened in the end? You should guess by yourself, how touchable the ending between Natsume, and Kaburagi. XD A FIN line at the left side somehow made me tears my eyes off. This show surely had an underestimations from some people at the beginning. However, its turned out to be a better original story when you give your time up to stick with it until its end. The art just beautifully amazing. The sounds of their ost surely easy to listen and very catchy. The insertion song while Kabu-Dence launched his final punch just amazing. Its so touchable. Even though i don't quite like a rushed ending like happened on their end, once again, its understandable. Because Natsume characterization, plus their cute chibi cyborg, had a great personality, at least for me. Story: 8 Art, animation, design characters, backgrounds at general: 9 Soundtrack: 10 Characterization: 9 Enjoyment: 10 Overall in average scores: 9.2/10 I really missed this show. 12 episodes really served so less and really need more of it. Hopefully Nut can do another continuations for this little thing. Because its really deserved. Thats it for me. |

They didn't brought Pipe back 0/10. Just kidding, it was a very good anime, the only thing I have to say is that it deserved a few more episodes, 13 or 14 episodes would have been perfect, the epilogue deserved an episode of its own. (8/10) |

I'm so glad I continued watching after the plot twist (Which I didn't like at first). It was a good story in the end. 8/10 (would give an 8.7/10) |

BEST EPISODE of the Year... Incredibly Good... Best Moment: "Kabu-Dence" MVP: Jill by far... Favorite Scene: "The Faces of Natsume" (Memories) Some people would say this was just Ok, or kind of Good... But actually this was a GEM, and not one of those few Rare Anime Gems we get per year... this is a Ultra Rare GEM.. Hate me, but this series was at the Level of the Best Series we had in this year... (Re:Zero 2, Honzuki 2, Somali, etc...) 9.7 of 10.0 for me... (If series like Steins;Gate didnt existed, this was a 10/10). |

I enjoyed it very much, such a hidden gem we got here. The last episode was good, that break your limits part that finished the gadoll wasn’t really exciting, but after all that this anime brough us, it’s ok, there weren’t too much original ways to get rid of a CGI beast in that situation. We could see coming that Kaburagi return. Minato became the leader who knows why hahahahaha, I don’t know hoy much part of the Earth is habitable, but the cyborgs may have technology to fix it, they’re now living there. Jill brought Kaburagi back, for sure, it was charming that in the end, his actions had an impact. |

This series is a 7.5/10 for me. It was great but predictable and formulaic in certain episodes. Some of the characters didn't have much of a role despite their standout design, like the girl who bullied Natsume in the first two episodes? We only saw her again in this episode shoveling Gadoll shit lol. I thought she would play a bigger role. I loved the relationship between Natsume and Kaburagi whether that be father-daughter, friends or more. They really work well together. Kaburagi kept his promise. I enjoyed the plot and the ending was wonderful. However, I may be in the minority but I wasn't a big fan of the avatars. They looked so out of place in the series. It was like watching the Powerpuff Girls in Attack on Titan. My only favorite cartoony avatar was Jill and I'm being biased since I thought she looked adorable. Also, towards the end, Kaburagi seemed like he had bluish or purplish skin or was it because of the shadow on his skin? |

Jill forgetting about Kabu's backup for three years was such a "bruh moment" xD Anyways, pretty exciting and optimistic way to conclude this entertaining ride. It was a personal shame Kabu-Dence didn't end up turning into a huge mecha but the way how he defeated Gadoll Omega was still rather epic. This said, the episode indeed felt a bit fast paced for moments, especially with the addition of the brief time-skip in the end but all in all, I think this finale wrapped things up in a very satisfying manner. Not to mention also that the last scene with Kabu surviving and re encountering with a more grown up Natsume was particularly heartwarming. I'm a sucker for happy endings, can't help it. Now, on a more critical note, I'm pretty sure it was said/shown there were more "space ships" around the world so I wonder what happened in that regard. Also, the sudden three years time skip felt kinda disappointing in my opinion since I really wanted to know how humans would react to the truth about their existence being controlled by a superior force but guess there wasn't much time left to expand said topic. In this aspect, a thirteenth episode would have been quite welcome but well. Overall, pretty cliche in most of its aspects but honestly, that didn't stop me from having a really good time with this series. Especially during its second half. 7/10 - Not the AOTY contender so many people were claiming before its release but it was still a nice piece of work featuring a surprisingly solid execution. |

But did you think Natsume was a player like Kaburagi or thought she was ignorant. Unless its the latter, you my friend, had a very different experience watching this show than me. Now this is a rather interesting take. I'd probably make a fanfic out of the idea if I had more braincells to spend hh Look at it: imagine if she really was a bug [and so were other cyborgs who became Tankers], they as bugs got their memories of being cyborgs erased and they were forced into Deca-Dence to live with a finite lifespan while their cyborg bodies were stored in a place similar to the Avatar Hub where Minato kept Kaburagi's avatar in deep sleep with a kill switch so that if they die, that's it, Kaburagi and possibly other extractors would just get the chip for additional insurance. It would also sit well with how Minato thought of winnowing the growing number of Tankers in there like, in this scenario, you can only keep so many bugs in there before the system breaks before any scheduled updates and we have to prevent the system from breaking. So much to think about, wow. |

I really like the concept of this anime. But, tbh this anime so rushed because it's original story and just has 12 episodes. If it's a 24 episode anime, I think it will be good if they add more tragedy in this anime. Well, it will hurt my feeling but why not :'D |

What an ending! Kaburagi defied the system and changed it, what an MVP! And that ending was insane, glad that the bug and minato found the backup. I do wonder how their backups work, does it saves the current state and he can just return to it with all the consciousness? I do hope so! Unfortunately they haven't shown us the reunion, it would have been even better. Maybe an OVA? Since there is still some unfinished business with Kurenai xD Deca dance was a solid 8/10, but that ending! Damnn What a great run this was! |

Also turning Deca-Dence into something like post-apo SOL would be great. I'd like less of the fighting just people and cyborgs being happy, thank you. |

To be clear - I'm glad I watched it, it was very entertaining with some nice ideas integrated into it, but this is the kind of anime which cannot rise above a 7 for me ratings-wise personally without it having a lot more detail and depth which would only be allowed to blossom by virtue of having dozens of more episodes. A world like this, relatively fresh, with so many possibilities getting into post-apocalyptic speculative fiction worldbuilding, transhumanism, fate vs. determinism, the goals of evolution of a class of organisms or a system and its components and whether there could ever be lasting accommodation found between the principles of utilitarianism versus altruism, humanism, and allowance for deviance; whether burning down a village in order to "save it" (or its raw materials or particles) can or should be permissible from the custodial observer in the universe POV...These and plenty of others along with characterization for the main characters who while fairly archetypical standard to this type of hero's journey story were still likeable with enormous potential for growth and fleshing out their quirks... This is the sort of anime series which could ascend to the higher ratings for me, like an 8 easily or possibly even 9 or higher, but it would have to rebuild everything from the ground up and be like 50+ episodes with much more gradual and thorough character development. I find it's really rare for many of these 11 - 13 episode series to be as phenomenal in execution and final result as their premise would allow for. Negative points for me would be: 1.) Something projected to have astronomically poor odds of succeeding or a major heroic feat being built up to and then transpire and be concluded within one episode, because of the series' length. A sign of a rushed series to me is when monumental events are playing out in high speed over the credits. 2.) When there are so many important events to be crammed in in a narrow box, again, due to series' length, it only leaves room for the barebones cliff notes version of character development. Tell me again why studios insist on the 12 episode formula for series that could be so expansive and do so much more? 3.) The OST wasn't ever poor or creating the opposite effect of what it intended, but it was mostly just serviceable and didn't heighten or elevate the tension or emotional beats in the story either; it was almost a non-entity 4.) From the twist of the second episode or arguably even the end of the first episode all the way through the season/series finale of episode 12, I still can't help feeling how many constituent parts of the world relate to each other was poorly explained or left unexplained....like why don't human Tankers question why other, in their eyes presumably humans, have purple or green skin? Are they just educated/brainwashed that it's normality? And since the humans aside from a chip implanted in them (I assume at birth?) and some cybernetic parts, are still a biological species rather than a machine or digital computer program, what exactly does being a "bug" mean in this context? Why would organic beings be expected to be completely obedient working components of a computer system in the first place? And does the chip implanted on them control their brain activity/brain waves in some way and therefore their behavior or just monitor it and detect when they're erratic so that they can be declared a bug? The chip detects if they've taken actions which defy some probability law statistic or have developed "free thought" (too radical an emerging consciousness)? And cyborgs by definition are cybernetic organisms - i.e. Natsume would actually be a cyborg due to her weaponized cybernetic arm but because she is still a flesh and blood organic human with a brain. So why are the robots called cyborgs? Were they once human or are they completely mechanical and digital, 100%? But then they shouldn't be called cyborgs, but just robots or androids (depending on their appearance)... What I did appreciate were some of the Gadoll creature designs and general "cyborg" and avatar aesthetic, some basic exploration (I would say in the shallower end of the pool but it's partially unavoidable due to length) of the notion of cyborgs and humans both challenging, thinking, daring, and resisting the illusion of false inevitabilities constructed and made to seem absolute by those who want to deny them any ability to live and prosper. The city-size fortress, Deca-dence, had a nice industrial and retro-futuristic look and feel to it inside and out. And the show's existence in and of itself will create the possibility that more will want to explore this territory of sterile and caged or nearly extinct humans in apocalyptic barren, alien or cyberpunk settings so that's a net positive. 7/10 - Which I know based on one of the top thread topics on this sub-forum some people consider a "bad" rating, but I don't. 7s to me are "about the average of everything else I've watched" and my average skews higher and I think, actually more generous considering otherwise it would be placed at 5 technically. More appealing from promises of its premise alone than so many of the isekai LN adaptation anime ones which are just pure MMO/RPG video games or in a more generic fantasy setting, evident by the fact that I watched it in the first place and completed it. And it was worthwhile and at times, an epic jaunt with some moments of brilliance. But it could be magnificent with everything left unexplored given much more satisfactory longer treatment. |

I got two gripes, them sitting inside the canon probaly should have killed them when it lurched foreward, but anime logic, ah well. Kabu realy did keep his vow. Also: 3 years to check if you have a backup of Kabu? I get they got a bunch of stuff to do but gez xD Overall I realy liked the Ending, normaly changing something major about the world at the end makes it a less interesting place, but Im pleasantly suprised that they managed to convert the world from danger to wonderlust and exploration in so little screentime. For an Anime original that didnt pass through the great filter of popularity the story realy was pretty good. |

Of course, it was a drill. Of course, it was a bloody drill in the final battle! The Gurren Lagann influence can never be stopped! There was that one scene of Kaburagi talking directly to the system where I suddenly realised "oh shit it really is the Matrix" what with the whole 'the cycle of bugs appearing and being purged and the whole world going through the occasional hard reset are all a part of the system functioning as intended.' It even ends the same way the Matrix did. Kaburagi/Neo makes a deal to set everyone free because the system has finally found a bug/Smith that got too big to deal with by itself, and Kaburagi/Neo sacrifices himself to stop it. IT'S LITERALLY ALL THREE MATRIX MOVIES IN ONE! Initially, I was kind of sceptical about the ending because it felt a bit too easy, but I think it started to make sense after I realised that. I'm also a huge sucker for happy endings where we actually get to see the new world the protagonists created, as well as seeing how our protagonists have changed (and quick side note: time skip Natsume looks absolutely gorgeous). So yeah... they turned Attack on Titan into Stardew Valley, and who doesn't love Stardew Valley? |

It's not a giant fister anymore, it's a giant driller ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). That was a fantastic final episode, though here's me wishing for a sequel. This show has been very consistent, and for an original anime it didn't disappoint. Hopefully those who dropped it at episode 2 would reconsider because this right here is a gem. Yeah, sure there's some cliched developments but, I think they did it very well. And it don't matter. Natsume looks so gorgeous after the time skip like w o w. Kabu dying was sad, but I am happy Jill had some backup data. This really be a good ol' happy ending and I love it. |

What a great Final episode and what an amazing anime on its own(clapping) For a moment I thought Kaburagi actually died, yet here he is 3 years later! I really like Natsume's new look 3 years later. She turned into a great beautiful young lady Deca-farm looks peaceful and relaxing. Yet I'm curious to see what will become of it or will trouble occur in the second season (me wishing for a 2nd season) |

If only it were longer... 😭 The plot moved too fast to let us get to know the characters, i.e. how Kurenai and Kabu met, Sarkozy's & Jill's life b/e being sent to the correctional facility, etc. |

That was a great show. It reminds me of This Hero is Overpowered but Cautious, in that it is a self-contained story in twelve episodes, which you can enjoy from beginning to satisfying end. Without a manga or light "novel" (script) before it, that some will read so they can drop spoilers and hint-hint-hint-this-is-not-technically-a-spoiler, to get that sweet superior feeling from a forum. So funny to see them realize that the boss isn't dead after all, so there was no heroic sacrifice. No toast necessary. And then in the end, one of the areas of research is "Ways to handle Donatello". Ha! His brutish saga lives on. Sweet that they made a theme park. And an advanced computer should be able to make a computerized world to fight in. They could call it, say ... a Massive Multiplayer Online Game, or simply MMO. But then some would get bored and would like to experience the MMO in real life. And look, eastern Asia is practically empty. |

Hold on a minute. You are telling me that Jill had a backup for Kabu the whole time but "forgot" about it and left him for dead for 3 years? Natsume had to live 3 years without Kabu thinking he will never come back. This anime was outstanding in every way posible man, fucking loved it till the end, i really encourage the people who dropped it cus "i got baited, its an Isekai! I wanted to see cool mortal engines and i got stupid robots" (which isn't entierly false), but still, it did so much in every episode, and i can't even pinpoint a single episode i wasn't hooked watching it with a dumb smile on my face. The show started off really strange but with an ending like this episode, I would say it's one of the better anime episodes I have seen so far. I do say episode because there where some bummer episodes on the road. Otherwise, this anime would have scored much more than just a 7 or 8. I would say they could fanfiction the story a bit longer tho. I really thought deca-dence would transform into a humanoid form after he collected those parts. Some waisted fighting potential hype there but you can't deny what we got in return. |

Fun final episode but I really don't know how I feel about the series overall. Felt like it had a 10/10 premise but with only 12 episodes it barely had time to scratch the surface of the world it created. Like it was fun, but it barely had time to breath with anything, most conflicts get resolved in no time at all, and I could easily think of like half a dozen things in the show I wish they'd fleshed out overall. So... overall it's "Pretty good" I guess? |

I was afraid this was gonna be just another Trigger-like over the top flashy ending with no substance but it was actually quite great. Even the initial discussions here about whether cyborgs were human or not ended up being irrelevant. And what's with all the plotholes? The only good part was when the system told Kabu he would die in any case and it would survive in any case. (Which proved wrong.) Where did the old system disappear, for example? What about its mission? Why did the revolutionaries get the admin rights so easily? The show didn’t really address the important difference between humans and cyborgs or its implications. Like the cyborgs’ longevity and spare bodies, their technology and their supposedly inhuman mental state vs the desperate postapocalyptic way humans live, the suffering and early death they experienced. The cyborgs didn't care about humans at all at first (they were NPC for them), so why did everyone become friends so easily and why did humans have to live under the rule of cyborgs in the end too? Why did humans not seem to care about being lied to, controlled and killed and about the weird ugly artificial organisms who did it? One of the main themes seemed to be living to the fullest, leaving an impact. But it didn’t reflect in anything besides Kabu persevering in the right moment. What about the gadoll? What they were, why are they peaceful now? They were animal experiements too which is immoral and had to be answered for. What about the artificial bodies and the digital immortality cyborgs have? Could it be extended to humans? Like why don't cyborgs improve the situation for humans with their tech? What will they do without oxyone? What's even their economy, in the end? Also maybe the cyborgs can be considered moe in some way but not to the extent the series tries to push it. What did actually happen with space compression? Or the dome? The system said there was no life outside of it. And it's the same with personalities. Take Minato. Initially he was shown as a very complex individual with his ups and downs – he had plenty of faults – so why was he suddenly in charge in the end? Being the “commander” in the game isn’t the same as running an actual society. He was dismissive towards humans too during the whole series. And there had been a lot of gay shipping between him and Kabu, yet they were too chicken to use the fact that in the end he basically controlled what had become Kabu's body. The way they showed operating Decadance from within sure was lame. And Natsume didn't evolve past a quirky inspiration. Basically the characters simply maintaned the status quo, and the fact that the good outcome was an endless fun fair is almost offensive. Though they showed that Natsume was tired from her service job in an unusually life-like moment in the epilogue, while all the others were happy performing in a circus for some reason. ...This ending felt like a placeholder, in short. It was very immature and rushed. Or maybe the beginning was misleading. I expected more from the juxtaposition of the two worlds, of Mr.Dob-like cyborg aesthetic and their tiring entertainment corporate dystopia, of the humans' role and legacy in all of it. Wtf? Seriously. Exactly this, I enjoy it a lot but this ending was disappointing. Who would thought that people have different opinions? If you liked this rushed ending, good for you, for me it's a dishonor to the rest of the serie. |

Since there is still some unfinished business with Kurenai xD Kaburagi can't just get back after a three year "sleep" like he didn't tell Kurenai she was the strongest, finest woman he had seen ever. Also turning Deca-Dence into something like post-apo SOL would be great. I'd like less of the fighting just people and cyborgs being happy, thank you. Exactly lmao, he still has some unfinished business with the finest woman xD It would make sense for a few OVA's i guess but not for an entire 2s fam. |

It's wonderful how you just omit everything I said and put words in my mouth I didn't said. I understand now, your truth is the only one and everyone who disagree is wrong. No need to continue this, clearly we will not agree and it would be just offtopic. |

Really itching to see them be together on a date or smth or even Minato-- OH WAIT KABURAGI HAS TWO HANDS WHY THE HELL NOT I'm content with OVAs as doing a whole season would probably feel like a waste at this point. There isn't even any huge threats seeing how they "updated" Deca-Dence xD |
