His english are killing me. Anyways, I think it's a good ending even though this series could be stretched out a li ttle more. And I didn't get why he didn't heal himself to go back in time, save everyone and then redo the whole thing.

Oh, pitiful shadow cloaked in darkness.
Thy actions cause men pain and suffering.
Thy hollow soul drowns in thy sins.
How would you like to see what death is like?

Meh, i wouldn't say that they did a bad job with the series. To be honest i kind of liked it for the most part. It was entertaining and made me laugh quite a few times.

However i feel that the final episode kinda fell a little flat. With having to cover Yu taking taking everyones ability in the world along with returning, it doesn't feel that one single episode would have been enough.

Personally i hated the idea that he lost his memories as well, but that's just a personal preference. Solid 7/10 for me!

While rushed and introducing more plot holes, the final episode was not produced so badly. I liked the song in the end.

Overall, the anime had its ups and downs during its course. It had fine production values and not the best plot organization.

How could it end miserably like this? I'm not saying a drama or a comedy, I'm saying for a good start, you need a good ending and not standard typical predictable one.

This was just... well, let's throw away all logic and go with sweet ending, right? There were so many possible ethical questions surrounding his power stealing yet they didn't even dabble in it. And the engrish was just laughable.

Not to mention they left us with so many plotholes noone can even count them by now.

The last episode was somehow okay-ish when standing alone but the rest of the series before was just one big pile of shit not worthy of your time.

Things I learned reading threads comments about this shows finale:

-It was awful, it was such a disaster, a trainwreck, Maeda is the worst, so disappointing
-Yet still 7~9/10's everywhere for the show as a whole and apparently with a few of the most minor tweaks here and there it'd easily be a 9~10/10 masterpiece, it's just that close.
-It apparently was also only just now ruined by the final episode even though just by reading the archives you can tell people have been complaining about it for weeks
-70% 5/5 ratings for the episode

Holy fuck when did the anime fanbase turn into IGN? Why is everybody so damn insincere and contradictory about this shit?

if I give ep 11 -100, this one deserves +10. I wish they could have gone in different route from episode 8 on and cut out yuusha/ takajo from the series. Misa's moment is touching tho, but she is unnecessary for the story progression whatsoever. The execution and plotholes annoyed me here and there. TL;DR, 7/10 for a series with a wasted potential.

I wasnt overly impressed by this series but it was still quite enjoyable.

I loved all the characters and the art.

Was sad Yuu doesnt remember Tomori but I guess that ship has set sail and it's only a matter of time before they are together.

I liked the anime at first, it was a good slice of life mixed in with super powers etc. Know what else was exactly like that? Angel Beats. They rushed the 2nd part. Angel Beats rushed the 2nd part. Plot holes everywhere. Angel Beats had plot holes.
Yet angel beats is considered top 150 anime on the list.

well...

I liked Charlotte, was worth the 13 week wait, although I hated how they rushed the second part. Honestly they should've either lengthened it or just not included it at all. It's a w/e tho.

I give it an 8/10, same rating I gave Angel Beats

You would think they would force some kind of rushed action into the finale after putting a bunch of action that ended up nowhere in the previous few episodes.

Instead, they make the entire episode feel like a slice-of-life with like no drama and little to no (interesting) action. Literally was just him going on a trip around the world in...what - less then a year? - in order to collect thousands of abilities without any resistance onesidedly. Not to mention the relationship between him and the courage girl felt more realistic then ending with Nao who did a complete change in attitude (which I had liked before).

It was so hard to get immersed in this finale. In the beginning of the season, I was annoyed with Charlotte having no plot advancement; now, I believe that the first 5 episodes were actually quite more enjoyable for a slice of life compared to the pointless developments they added. Well, at least there's going to be an OVA for that.

Compared to Angel Beats, this had less plot holes and more things explained, but it...wasn't as enjoyable, I guess? Maeda tried too hard to make this Angel Beats maybe. It didn't even have any real tear jerking moments to make the anime be seen more in a positive light.

The implementation of what's currently happening in the Middle East was honestly the most interesting part.

Wow, this has reached whole new dimensions of awful.

This show's story and the concept is mediocre to the very bits but it's still as hell possible to make a really good show with it, that is, if it is given an appropriate run time and, most importantly, if Maeda is not writing this. I cannot fanthom that a grown adult has written and composed this, unless the studio or some other parties really did interfere with the creation process, I swear, this is coherence antichrist.

So many plot lines, characters abandoned and not explored, it's hard to count.

I don't understand it, like which is it? An absolutely uncontestable masterpiece on the season or one of the worst things to air during? Apparently it's only separated from one or another by the thread of a hair and again if it gets just the slightest tweaks it's absolutely a masterpiece.

Honestly the anime fanbase just looks fucking insane and bipolar to me nowadays, how might I come to understand it and it's extreme polarized positions on just about everything again? In any case in all seriousness five years from now people looking to find out about this show and whether they'd enjoy it are going to be extremely fucking confused cause there's clearly nothing even remotely close to a consensus on it.

I 2nd this, unless I forgot them pointing it out, I have no idea why she was ganged up like that.

Finale overall was.... meh? it tried to give feels but failed miserably.

I'm pretty sure they said that it was because she goes invisible to enforce the rules of the school, and since they can't fight her back one on one they do it as a group?

13 episode doesn't do justice for a Key anime.

I guess it was nice enough seeing how Yuu took everyone's powers, and using a wide range of uses to it too. But for his memory to go bonkers, maybe Nao traveling with him would've made things a little more enjoyable, though in essence, she was with him already.

For Nao and Yuu to reunite, with Nao crying, and then having such a smile at the end, to a person that seemed really apathetic at the start (perhaps a defense mechanism from herself), but it goes to show what a feat Yuu did to affect Nao's life.

I didn't mind Yuu not wanting the time travel ability again, can Yuu handle all the possible undesirable consequences without breaking down. Doing this much to save the world is quite the task already, why be greedy and then having the chance to lose everything, but doing this much, he was about to lose himself, anything more would be a shot in the dark.

I liked series, though obviously not as much as the 2 cour anime from the same makers. There really should be a rule about it being 24+ eps for Jun/Key's works. 8/10.

Charlotte: After Story has a nice tone to it.

The ending was average. I really don't like the Yuu's approach in plundering all those abilites. I feel sad for the people who lost them like the healing girl. Even though Yuu claims that they are better off without the abilities, I feel like some of them might be better off with them.

In my opinion, Yuu is no better than the terrorists and the scientists. He literally caused a lot of destruction during his mission and stripped away some people's happiness. I don't like how Yuu was portrayed in this episode at all (>o<)!

Overall this anime is like a hurricane. It sweeps through the plot in a fast pace, causing some minor plot holes and step backs of characters, and then ends it with a sunrise.

welp, this was a lot less dramatic than i expected. first Key anime i didn't cry (not counting Air which i didn't like at all) and i felt there was so much more to be done. how much time had passed? did Yuu remember who his own sister was? what about the singer of the band?

it was a very good anime with an expected happy ending that was just alright, much like Little Busters. 8/10.

I do agree that Yu's journey should have been spread out across at least 3 episodes in order to explore his mental breakdowns and conflicts. There were unexplained and undeveloped aspects of this anime, including some characters. I still enjoyed it a lot and I'm glad about the happy ending, yet the exact same mistake from Angel Beats was made: They made a story worth 24 episodes and squeezed it into just 13.

I loved it, I'm not picky, it was a great episode, I was worried that the crossbow guy would get him. Some of those abilities he got were OP.

however, the subbed timing was all messed up where I watched it, and it would show up like 3 seconds after, making it hard to follow.

I liked the ending. For what it was, Charlotte was an enjoyable watch. People gave this way too much expectations just because it was Jun. Looking at it despite it coming from him, it still was a good watch.

It certainly wasn't a cluster f- like other anime I've seen.

But while this anime did have some flubs here and there, I' m glad I stuck through.

+1 I wouldn't have written it better.

I'm actually quite sad. Sad that so many people have such low standards to give this anime 7-10/10. Sad that they don't care about at least basic logic and plotholes. Sad that character inconsistency and bad pacing is overshadowed by some emotive song and nice visuals.

I'm sad they just passively consumes what's given to them, not being able to think for themselves and at least ask themselves some questions about what they just saw.

Well the fan base for Key works is really vast. Most people commenting here are veterans who feel emotionally attached to these kinds of works since they've been going through them over and over again for the last couple of years. Others are newcomers who enter the anime world because of how emotional these works make you. So, no matter how "objectively" bad it might be episodically, you can't erase that connection you have to Charlotte, Angle Beats, etc. For better or worse, these are titles that are not easily forgotten so no matter how much hate there is there will be people who love it to bits, which explains why the reactions are so contrasting to the scores.

I mean, was that actually a closure for the series?
I should have never bothered with this. The last few episodes made me believe that it would have an okay ending but yeah, I should've seen this coming the moment Tomori proposed that stupid idea which shouldn't be even posible to do in such a short amount of time.

I actually enjoyed it for the first half, and the ramp up til like episode 10 or 11 despite how corny and terribly written it was. Partially because I watched it with some friends which is probably influencing my own individual feelings for the show.

But the last couple episodes are so terrible. Despite that, it provided some decent entertainment.

So the last episode was a montage of Yuu stealing abilities and fulfilling his promise. Very bland episode, only the last five mins were worth watching. Charlotte started off as a character driven show which evolved into silly story lines and failed comedy,

well.. I'm going to miss Nao and Shun, probably nothing more.
I've had REALLY high expectations for this anime but turns out that the potential had been wasted.
no mystery, no purpose except plundering all the abilities, and now I have no idea why some random things even appeared in the middle of the anime. the bullying, the girl standing in the water, the matter of Sala as a character, where did that go?

was expecting a lot more than this cause Maeda has promised it'd be something unusual.. but well I loved the last dialogue between Yuu and Nao (her seyiu is SUPER great) and the final song.

3,8/10.

Wasting 3-4 episodes on fluff together with characters that barely mattered In the end, whose arc was either non-existent or was resolved In the most cringeworthy way possible.

-Why was Nao bullied again? No one knows, except that guy with glasses.
-Why did Yusarin exist In the first place? Her involvement In everything Is literally 0 and her character very forgettable.
- Speed running to the finish line with that ending. Yuu somehow managed to steal all abilities and potential abilities In the world within a very short amount of time. Somehow less believable than going back In time and destroying Charlotte.
-etc

EH. I most've watched this because I felt some potential...meh.
