About me (outdated, it's from 2016) Top 20 Anime / (20-11) 20. Monogatari Series What I liked: - the crazy directing style, especially during the climatic moments - the sense of intrigue and fascination with the series' atmosphere and its supernatural elements - the witty and absurdly long conversations - the character development in the second season - Hitagi Senjougahara, and the romance that carried the first season What I disliked: - not every arc is on the same level, the ones in Nisemonogatari are the worst - lots of trolling that breaks my suspension of disbelief - I'm quite tolerant, but there's a limit to how much shameless pedophilia I can handle 19. Hyouka What I liked: - a fantastic cast of complex characters that develop at a perfect pace - amazing animation that allows for subtle characterization, and it's used for lots of creative sequences - the mysteries are always well-structured and give precious insight into the cast's way of thinking - great attention to detail that makes the world feel alive and authentic, especially during the festival arc What I disliked: - not every episode is entertaining - anticlimatic ending 18. Log Horizon What I liked: - excellent worldbuilding that outclasses almost every other anime in terms of complexity and believability - great use of MMO mechanics to set up plot points and to make every battle seem exciting - a colorful and fun cast, along with some entertaining romantic developments - Shiroe strikes the perfect balance between being an invincible badass and an insecure, antisocial nerd What I disliked: - the first half of season 2 is weaker, and I couldn't even finish the second half - average production values 17. Attack on Titan What I liked: - gripping premise with lots of potential and undiscovered mysteries - compelling characters that constantly push the story forward and represent its themes - fantastic and tense action sequences that only get better as the series progresses What I disliked: - the pacing is off in episodes 9-13 - quite a bit of cheesy and repetitive dialogue 16. Shinsekai Yori What I liked: - excellent worldbuilding that is always relevant to the main themes - gripping mystery that only gets more interesting as we learn more about it - the soundtrack complements the good directing to create lots of terrifying and memorable scenes - very ambitious but successful attempts at creating a morally gray conflict What I disliked: - the show looks bad most of the time, and some episodes are just unwatchable - underdeveloped cast 15. Cowboy Bebop What I liked: - the best audiovisual presentation in anime history - the "main plot" is straight up perfect - the 3 main characters are all complex and their dynamic is always entertaining to watch - a couple of hilarious episodes, which all pale in comparison to Cowboy Funk What I disliked: - Edward - many serious episodes don't hold up to the rest and eventually become repetitive in the themes they present 14. Love Live! School Idol Project What I liked: - a colorful cast that eventually gets fully fleshed out - most episodes are full of energy, over-the-top and hilarious - the performances are fun to watch and/or listen to - Nico Yazawa What I disliked: - the last arcs of each season unnecessarily transition to a serious mood that doesn't fit the series, and the finale of season 1 is just badly executed - the CG models are jarring and don't look nearly as good as the standard animation during performances 13. Texhnolyze What I liked: - the visuals and soundtrack perfectly complement the series' dark and heavy atmosphere - a unique and compelling main character who goes through unimaginable hardships - a script that's unmatched in terms of conciseness and subtlety - the last 4 episodes are heart-wrenching and beautiful at the same time What I disliked: - I really need to rewatch it in order to understand some of the side characters' actions - it could have gone a tiny bit faster 12. Kuroko no Basket What I liked: - the fast pacing which gave me just enough time to get hyped about the next match before jumping straight into it - the instances of stellar animation that complemented the most memorable moments in the series, along with the soundtrack - the simple but effective rivalries and friendships that shifted and developed over time - the well-structured matches that kept me on the edge of my seat for hours, especially the final one What I disliked: - at times, the drama just falls flat, mostly because of some incredibly cheesy dialogue that's hard to take seriously - some matches aren't as memorable as the others - season 1 lacks most of the strengths of the other 2 seasons, before episode 23 11. Five Centimeters per Second What I liked: - the art - the romance feels true-to-life and its development feels inevitable - the dialogue complements the visuals and soundtrack to create some incredibly powerful scenes, that could be effective even out of context What I disliked: - the second act isn't as compelling as the other 2 - the ending song is bad Top 20 Anime / (10-1) 10. The Tatami Galaxy What I liked: - the witty and fast-paced dialogue - the disillusioned, but still lighthearted and positive way it presented its themes - the way a lot of seemingly meaningless scenes become important by the end - the emotional climax What I disliked: - the art, especially when they used real-life backgrounds with shitty filters - the animation, which felt like it was missing some frames every time they tried to create a fluid-looking scene - the repetitive structure 9. Kill la Kill What I liked: - everything regarding the gorgeous art style and the creative use of animation shortcuts - the engaging flow of the story, which doesn't have a single dull moment - every character had enough presence and colorful quirks to make his/her scenes fun to watch - the strong thematic and emotional core, embodied by Mako - the soundtrack and the way it was implemented, even showing some self-awareness at times What I disliked: - the ending didn't live up to the hype - I love how it looks, but I would have liked to see more fluid animation 8. Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica What I liked: - the way every part of the story is relevant to the characters and themes (I watched it 3 times and I still picked up new details every time) - the atmosphere created by the visuals and soundtrack - all the memorable scenes, including the entirety of episode 10 What I disliked: - the Soul Gem controversy halfway through the series - some scenes could have had a bit more build-up 7. Ef - a Tale of Memories -What I liked: - the engaging dialogue which made even the most mundane scenes fun to watch - the moderate use of the Shaft-style - Miyako Miyamura - the elegant way it handled the sweet and heart-wrenching romance between Renji and Chihiro What I disliked: - the switch to heavy drama in episodes 10 and 12 is a step down in quality, compared to the rest 6. Yurikuma Arashi What I liked: - the extremely quirky, but always purposeful directing style - several scenes are just brilliant, in the way they perfectly portray real-world issues in this idealized setting - the series touched on basically everything that's relevant to its themes in such a short time - the climax is stellar and incredibly emotional What I disliked: - many episodes aren't the peak of entertainment value 5. Fate/Zero What I liked: - Kiritsugu Emiya and Kirei Kotomine - the over-the-top and campy dialogue between the heroic spirits - the strategic approach to the action - the consistent tone and atmosphere - the way each character was relevant to the main theme What I disliked: - the less-than-stellar handling of exposition, especially during battles 4. Steins;Gate What I liked: - the comedic first half, and the friendly atmosphere of the lab - the masterful use of foreshadowing - the romance - the last episodes are awesome and extremely satisfying What I disliked: - the awkward implementation of dating-sim elements in the second half - several characters are underdeveloped 3. Hibike! Euphonium What I liked: - the attention to detail and the purposeful shot composition, which make every scene feel fun and/or meaningful - the subtle and masterful handling of several members of the ensemble cast, especially given their screen-time - Kumiko and the way she reacts and is influenced by every other character - the romance friendship between the main duo - the gorgeous art and animation What I disliked: - shameless yuri-baiting that goes nowhere 2. Angel Beats! What I liked: - the comedy and the feeling of being part of the SSS brigade, which I fell in love with from the first episode - every part of the soundtrack, especially Ichiban no Takaramono - the optimistic attitude with which it tackled the extremely heavy subject matter - the fascinating concept and its ridiculous potential for both comedy and drama What I disliked: - the last 3 episodes, except for a couple scenes which became saving graces for the show - some of the dramatic and romantic elements are really corny 1. Ame and Yuki Wolf Children What I liked: - the tone of the movie is almost always in a perfect balance between happy and sad, serious and lighthearted - Hana's struggle is as painful as the small joys she obtains are rewarding - the kids' growth is well-paced and the way they end up feels like a natural conclusion - the visuals and soundtrack complement the subject matter perfectly What I disliked: - the hint of romance towards the end of the movie isn't well-presented Favorite action scenes Madoka Magica: Rebellion Sword of the Stranger Rebuild of Evangelion 2.0 Hunter X Hunter 2011 Cowboy Bebop Movie Fate Zero Sword Art Online 2 Naruto Shippuden Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Movie 1 Fate Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (TV) One Punch Man Bonus: Idol Section Love Live The Idolm@ster Favorite Openings/Endings Death Parade OP Kuroko no Basket S2 OP1 Ergo Proxy OP Soul Eater OP1 FMA Brotherhood OP1 Anohana OP Fate Zero OP2 K-On S2 OP2 Zetsuen no Tempest OP1 Shingeki no Bahamut OP Favorite OSTs Jun Maeda stuff Air: Natsukage; Natsukage (piano); Aozora. It's really funny and it introduces a ridiculous amount of intriguing mysteries. Kotori Route: 3/10 It started out really well, and it was solid up to the date, but as soon as the infodump started, I knew I was in for a wild ride. The drama with the familiars is the kind that I hate the most, and it was incredibly rushed, but it was still amazing and well-paced compared to the laughable and abrupt ending. Kotori's motivaiton for defending the Key was revealed waaay too late, and I spent half the route trying to figure out why the hell she was going through all that pain and why Kotarou was acting like an idiot instead of stopping her immediately. I still don't know what he planned to do by defending the Key towards the end. Not even the great voice acting from Kotori could save the incredibly cringey dialogue. Thankfully the route was very short. Chihaya Route: 5/10 It was mildly entertaining and I felt the hype towards the end, but it was basically a less ambitious version of Fate Stay Night. Chihaya is already a better written character in the small section of the Lucia Route that I've read than she is in her own route. Lucia Route: 5.5/10 It started out well, with some decent drama between the girls and some funny moments, and then got even better when it became a horror story. The greatness was short-lived, because the mystery was solved with a romance that, despite how many times the protagonist said "I don't want to protect you out of pity", never felt sincere. The date scene was the worst part of the novel so far, and the resolution at the end dragged on for no reason since basically Kotarou had reached his conclusion 5 hours earlier and forgot about his love for Lucia/Haruka just to create more frustrating drama. Shizuru Route: 6/10 It was the most unambitious route (up to the ending), but at least it had cohesive themes and the romance slowly grew on me as the story progressed. It was short and painless. Akane Route: 8/10 This was what I was waiting for: epic scale, ambitious themes, and even a mature sexual relationship between the two leads (not to mention that Akane has the best chemistry with Kotarou along with Kotori). It dragged a bit when the apocalypse started (the throwaway enemy didn't deserve that much "screen time") and it didn't have the strongest start, but I was hooked from the timeskip onwards. We even got a couple awesome Yoshino moments, his dynamic with Kotarou was really interesting to watch towards the end. I finally understand exactly what Rewrite is supposed to be about, even though I feel that this route tried a bit too hard with the Gaia VS Guardian conflict and everything that it represents. Moon Route: 8.5/10 This was just insane. The beginning gave me an otherwordly and unique feeling, and the ending was absolutely epic. I wasn't too thrilled by the fact that this turned into yet another waifu route by the end, but it was executed well, and the last scene was amazing. Terra Route: 7/10 It started out really well, and I was dying to know Kotarou's past, but by the time Kagari shows up I was already missing the other heroines. Too many side characters get an amount of focus they don't really deserve. Kotarou saves this route single-handedly, even though I thought the conclusion was anticlimatic and his realization was a bit weak. Overall rating: 6.5/10 Character ranking: 1. Akane - Waifu tier. Antisocial, cynical, narcissistic, lazy, trollish... she's basically perfect. She's even more perfect in her own route. 2. Kotarou - The best Key MC by a landslide. He's strong and clever, and he gets a harem eventually, but thanks to his flaws and the presence of other characters who constantly troll him, it never feels like the game is worshipping him (as it happens with Tomoya from Clannad and Yuuji from Grisaia). Not to mention that he's also hilarious and perverted. He gets even better in his own route. 3. Kotori - Waifu tier. She has a terrible-yet-hilarious sense of humor, some great chemistry with Kotarou, and an absolutely adorable voice. She would have been the undisputed n.1 if her route wasn't complete shit. 4. Yoshino - He can be annoying at times, but he's so stupidly serious that you'll grow to like him. He has a lot of badass moments later on. 5. Sakuya - Bah, he's cool, I guess. 6. Kagari - I just don't know. Kana Hanazawa. 7. Lucia - Her internal conflict is handled well... excluding the ending, when she does an incredible 180 in terms of personality. She's one-note and unfunny in the common route. 8. Shizuru - She's a fun twist on the emotionless girl archetype. 9. Chihaya - She's stupid. In the most unfunny way. She gets a bit of characterization in Lucia's route, ironically. Little Busters! I got addicted to LB! and I completed it in a week. It has some really huge flaws, though. Common Route: 8.5/10 Komari: 5.5/10 Kurugaya: 4/10 Haruka: 7/10 Kud: 5/10 Mio: 6.5/10 Rin: 4.5/10 Refrain: 7.5/10 Overall: 7.5/10 Favorite characters: Kyousuke, Kurugaya Fate/Stay Night This VN has huge pacing problems and other issues. Fate: 7/10 Unlimited Blade Works: 7/10 Heaven's Feel: 5/10 Overall: 6/10 Favorite characters: Shirou, Saber, Lancer, Kirei Danganronpa It was a solid 7/10, the mysteries were fairly engaging, but the way it presented its themes was awful. The trials are HYPE. Favorite chapters: ch5 Favorite characters: Celestia, Kirigiri, Togami Danganronpa 2 – Goodbye Despair I had to watch a Let’s Play of DR2, so I won’t rate it, but I thought that while the comedy and mystery structure improved compared to the original, it had a bigger focus on the weaker aspects of the series, like… characters and themes XD. Favorite chapters: ch3 Favorite characters: Komaeda, Nanami, Ibuki Narcissu: 6.5/10 VN I dropped or put on-hold Grisaia no Kajitsu Clannad Katawa Shoujo G-Senjou no Maou Fate/Hollow Ataraxia Saya no Uta Movies, Games etc. Favorite Movies The Departed Good Will Hunting Se7en Inception The Shawshank Redemption Inside Out Fight Club Dead Poets Society The Godfather Goodfellas The Avengers Schindler’s List Frozen Favorite TV Series Fargo The Wire Game of Thrones Rick and Morty True Detective (S1) Breaking Bad The Sopranos Sherlock Games I played (In chronological order) Warcraft 2 and 3 GTA: San Andreas Pro Evolution Soccer World of Warcraft Final Fantasy 10 Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Series Metal Gear Solid 4 Call of Duty (MW2, BO, MW3, BO2) Little Big Planet 1 and 2 Uncharted 1 and 2 Assassin's Creed (2, Brotherhood and 3) God of War Trilogy Portal Starcraft 2 (I even followed the pro scene) Red Dead Redemption Final Fantasy 13 Mass Effect (2 and 3) Skyrim Pokemon (White, Black 2, Platinum) GTA 5 Fifa Hearthstone Persona 4 I also used to play TCGs like Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, and mostly Magic: the Gathering |

Avoid AoT threads like the plague, and if you use fb for some reason leave all anime related groups/pages.
Though if you're going to read the manga anyway, you probably should start asap so you can burn through the early chapters by the time S3P2 ends.
Now for later content, to each his own so idk, read/watch and find out. The fandom is not helping at all being an indicator considering the bulk of talk about it is stupid shipping wars (yes, of all things.... )
Now for the number of chapters, I think episode 5 ended around chapter 80? give or take a chapter maybe. The most recently released chapter is number 117. There's still quite a bit of content left basically.
They're doing pretty much everything right, and my god the music! I wish more adaptations were handled similarly instead of just being glorified ads.
What do you think about the recent leaks/news that studio WIT is leaving it? I think it'll be fine since it's such a big title (plus it's likely IG will be the ones to continue anyway, so it's cool).
MAL forums are doing fine, it's almost scary. Although, most of the old users are gone it seems. The O/U club is dying though (blaming discord for this however).
What have you been up to? If you still use MAL I'm assuming you still watch anime. Anything exciting? :D
You still amongst the living? How are you doing?
But I couldn't resist ^ _ ^
Thanks for the comment.
so if Kiznaiver ep6 gonna be more serious, which means
