Interesting episode, though I don't remember some most of it being in the manga... (which it probably was, I just have a bad memory). I guess I'll have to flip back through it again. Anyways... did anyone think the Kor in the garden looked awfully familiar? I know... I'm just being me. =P |

Oh that was a little weird I was sure that Mikage died in episode 4 but it looks like I was wrong ...uh but still I don't think Ayanami would just let him go meet Teito like that Anyway I think he is really doing to die soon if the anime follows the manga and another thing ,why on gods name is Teito still wearing those chains it's really getting annoying -__- Mod Edit: Added spoiler tags; please hide plot details. |

Love it~! We get to see Mikage yaay~ So many things I loved about this episode, I really like how the pace is slower, everything doesn't seem to be forced and crammed in together :P Razette is SO ADORABLE in the anime~, holy crap I really can't get enough of her, and I'm a girl too! Frau is awesome yet again, I loved how he showed some porn to Mikage and he was totally enjoying it XD. Convos between Mikage and Teito was wonderful and the fight scene was awesome. I especially liked the ending when they were in the bedroom I got chills when Mikage said all of those lines regarding revenge to Teito, since there is so much significance behind them. We'll learn later that Teito is always thinking about those last few words. I'm psyched yet sad for the next episode....to see Mikage's epic and tragic death and Teito's despair :(... Also, I never mentioned it for the last episode, but other people did XD.....but I can't believe they had Teito wear those poor chains for 4 episodes straight ahahaha XD you would think they'll take it off since I assume it takes more effort and time to animate the chains :P But I think I have a hunch on why they did that... I think they did it so when Teito changes to the mourning outfit, we're presented with this really noticeable and drastic change. Also when Teito changes into the "student" outfit....or whatever you call that..when he decides to take the exam :P Overall, I'm really loving this anime, I think it's doing a pretty good job at adapting the manga :) cressell said: Yea same thing happened to me, I looked on the internet again...and found a second version, so download that one :)I've tried watching the subbed version by Dattebayo, but the audio track is delayed, which is a first. I love the slow building up to something..some people might lose patience, but I think it just adds to the story. Yes, the chains are starting to bug me, but it would be a good workout. I went to dattebayo's sight directly and had no problem with the episode. And lastly, please don't tell me what happens in the manga especially about Mikage...Thanks! |

Oh hell, Angel is back. Oh well, on the topic of the episode I wasn't terribly impressed. Am I the only person who isn't absolutely in love with this show? While it's somewhat better than generic shonen, I can't see why some of the people who post here hype this up so much. The pacing is slow, the music is beginning to really grate on me, Teito and Mikage have some serious yaoi undertones rocking, and about the only saving grace of the show is Frau. I mean, it has promise, but I'm just not seeing where this is going. Past that, anyone have issues with the "fixed" version of the Dattebayo sub? I didn't have this issue with last week's Ghost, but I did with Bleach which makes me wonder... Basically, the video is "shaky", the audio and video are in sync, but the video doesn't sit still. I feel like it's gonna give me a seizure. |

So they're just not going to explain how Mikage got away? For now, I'm going forth under the impression that Mikage can't be trusted until otherwise stated. I just don't understand how they can gloss over such an enormous plot hole. I'm with Bakayaro...I don't really get how people seem to be creaming over the show when it hasn't really done anything novel. |

I don't mind that Mikage's escape hasn't been explained yet because at this point, it really seems like he's become some kind of puppet for Ayanami or something. So I'm pretty sure Mikage's 'escape' will be explained later. Still, I find the show kind of dull myself. I was planning on putting this on hold for now but I think I'll just wait. Some people are saying it'll get better soon and I hope soon means like within the next few episodes >< |

Okay. My inner Hakuren lover is saying, "Hurry up and get on with it! Lets see Hakuren!" To be honest, I never really did like Mikage. ANYWAY. Still great episode, veering off the manga a bit on this one, but hey, what can we do. Didn't really like the fight, felt that it was a bit forced. Not too excited about the next episode (carriage, wtf?). We'll have to see. |

Plus the main reasons why I decided to pick up this series was.. 1) I wanted to try watching some series that are airing in Japan at the same time, other than FMA2 (I usually don't do this, I usually pick some series already aired and watch at my own pace) 2) The growing hype around it 3) it kept popping up as a recommendation for those who liked D.Gray-man Hopfully it will get better like what alot of you folks keep saying, and I have incredible patience, so I can wait a while. However, the shonen-ai hints are starting to get on my nerves. >< *not a fan of Shonen-ai/Yaoi* ....and when the hell is Teito going to do something about those chains?!? Anyways, first of all I think I've mentioned this so many times, but shounen-ai and yaoi isn't the same. You don't normally see people going around calling shoujo animes hentai. Second of all, I do know where you're coming from. In the anime, it really does seem like a forced shounen-ai fanservice, but there really is a strong theme of friendship in this series in terms of the manga. I think they are just trying their best to put that into the anime. If you don't mind spoilers from the manga: It's already obvious that there is a strong bond between Mikage and Teito. This strong bond that they have is something that is always important to Teito and he always thinks back about it. If the anime is following the manga closely, Mikage is going to die next episode. This incident obviously affects Teito greatly, and he changes drastically, he matures and struggles to live because his "reason to live" or his "light" was Mikage. You can't blame him to consider Mikage as "his life"; before that friendship Teito knew nothing of his past and everyone else treated him like crap, Mikage was the only one who supported him and accepted Teito for who he is. In amidst all of this, as Teito is slowly recovering from his despair all the Bishops and Frau supports him in their own way. Frau becomes a sort of comrade, a confidant, or a brother figure to Mikage. The friendship between Mikage and Teito is so strong, it transcends to an automatic bond between Teito and a small dragon, this dragon is actually a reincarnation of Mikage. I think this is pretty special especially since the dragon has no memory of its past life and plus dragons are usually not tamed that easily. Teito eventually decides to participate and study for the priesthood exam (to help him be able to move around freely to learn more about his past) and there he meets another character. At first they don't get along, but learning from his past, and motivated by the friendship he had with Mikage...Teito makes the first move (unlike when Mikage made the first move) to become friends with this new character (Hakuren). The bond can be seen as even stronger than the one between Mikage and Teito; Hakuren and Teito learns about each others' not so happy past and chooses to accept each other as who they are. I think it's so biased for you to go about proclaiming this is this and that is that when you haven't even given the chance to read the manga to see how everything is. Sure at face-value is seems all superficial with it's implications on shounen-ai between characters...but there really is no denying the underlying theme of friendship. I am a fan of shounen-ai, but I'm not blind as to assume every guy in animes has the hots for each other. I could interpret everything as shounen-ai, but to me it really doesn't make any sense. This show is slow. reminds me a lot of To Aru Majutsu no Index where they start off with a strong first story arc and then gradually slump down in to a cesspool of mediocrity. Although with Ghost only the first episode was really great while after that we go in to "Teito is emo at church" mode. Come on. we spend 3 episodes filled almost entirely with Teito being emo and whining about mikage while mikage gets asked the same question over and over and then poof, mikage appears at the church. Can you say letdown? My biggest interest now is not what happens in the story line, but how exactly Teito changes clothes with shackles around his feet and hands. I expect after the 25th episode he will stop moping around the church, lose the chains and then do something. After that maybe we will get another season full of him lounging around the church for 25 episodes before finally fighting a little in the last episode. |

Stupidity much? canephalanx said: Please don't spew me that friendship crap, it is clearly for fanservice. as in not believing the fact that there's a friendship theme in this series. But really, please point out the shounen-ai parts to me. Cause other than the rearrangement of when Mikage appeared at the Church and that random guy, the anime has a done a decent job at adapting everything in the manga. Meaning that most of everything you see in the anime, it's in the manga too. So while you're at it why don't you just complain about the manga or the series itself? About homophobia, I'm sorry but in perspective your posts "reeked" of homophobia, I'm just saying. Whether or not you are, you don't have to call me stupid. That's just...mean O__O;;. Hmmm that's all I can say I guess, other than suck it up if you're planning on watching it still. I'm bothered by the fanservice in both K-ON and Hatsukoi Limited...you don't see me complaining :P except maybe that annoying word "moe"....ugh.. |

People actually thought the hug between mikage and teito when they reunited was something guys whom were merely friends would do (answer: no)? It seemed like something straight out of a romance anime as if two lovers were reuniting after a long time apart. Nothing wrong with that really and as long as they pick up the pace of the rest of the show and get out of that damn church (new anime category: church life?), teito and mikage can make out every episode for all i care. I dont think the show is full of it though as Frau (i think it was him) was clearly looking at magazines with nearly naked women on them. |
