THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Excuse me but I think I am crazy is how I will start this.
I found that the end of this episode was the most amazingly directed as a single episode end.
It is but a simple task of the scene below

and that of the spoiler below.
I must be insane but one single part of this episode almost makes me want to jump the score to a 9 or maybe 10.

It was incredibly showed of the reason that Kyouhei does not want to use the Kakashi precisely because he was there and saw Aki kill many people in front of him. While the spoiler clearly shows the grotesque face of Aki in blood and the anger of Kyouhei's face. It was shown in black and white as flashback should be IMO. Not only that but the BGM fitted the scene perfectly. I am really happy of this episode just for that. So really no one can blame of the terrible trauma that Kyouhei suffered that would justify his reason of not wanting to become a Seki for the sake of not killing any more people because Aki did that precisely as a Seki. But you see the way I see this is a wrong thinking being clouded by PTSD syndrome. I would try to think it more as of being a Seki to not allow the situation happen again. I am so waiting for the time that Kyouhei goes RAGE and really shows what he was able to do as a Seki.

Other things I liked about Kyouhei is the face he made at eating rice-ball made by Hibino and of actually having the guts to whisper to Hibino in front of Kuuko. Strangely enough I liked his somewhat idiotic funny face here in response to Hibino remarking that he acts more of a brother that's mature but only around Utao. Kyouhei was kind of funny with his blushed face while kind of being stupid to realize he does live with Hibino. Finally he realized it somewhat but he was still good comedy when Kuuko mentions to him a rumor of Hibino possibly dating him as he makes this surprised face. Despite all that he holds quite a dark past that he obviously tries to not remember.

About Utao/Kukuri, the first thing to mention is the importance of the ritual in understanding the link up of these machines. According to the following spoiler
it is obvious that Utao in giving her blood to the Kakashi that it's a DNA/Genetic link up possibly heighten to new levels of kinetic advancement in that through the blood the Kakashi can sense its master. It would be cool to see twins use the Kakashi as their blood is very similar if not the same DNA. In any case the Kakashi can recognize a lot its master by merely infusing it with one's own blood. I have a bad feeling that the user dies when the Kakashi dies. In any case after having done the ritual, I guess you have to wait but in so Utao was cute drooling here. So she fell asleep and waited for a while from the looks of the candles being blown out here. In the end it got enough of her blood into itself to work and I loved seeing Utao flying on it in the spoiler
she was really nice there. Surprisingly enough the height it can fly from the ground of those things is pretty high. What I find somewhat strange but cute is Utao kissing Kukuri in the following,

it was nice to show at least she cares a lot for it and she does a lot with her training by Kyouhei. Just from the looks of her efforts in the spoiler
that she tries hard to concentrate and I was surprised that the Kakashi were used from the old times of barbarians perhaps? In the end Utao did quite a nice job with Kukuri in saving Kuuko from the explosion along with her slave. Carrying them properly on just the car's door, wow that is impressive to control a Kakashi with just that as a bed. Unfortunately I ROFL at when Utao lost concentration and let the 2 go into the water. Poor them and I must say that I found Kukuri's pose with the knife in the spoiler
most excellent among his other poses. Utao looked really nice with Kukuri next to her playing video games and for some reason Top Gun kind of game or what is that PlayStation game that looks like that game Utao is playing? Anyway it's too bad but Utao lost in the end. Yeah well these games get harder as you progress in mission. Got to admit that I liked Utao's face her as she played the game, the face she makes in response to Kyouhei's remark about fixing her clumsiness and the face she makes when Hibino's father comes to see what was the noise in her room. Turns out that Kyouhei will be pissed off at his PlayStation being broken by Kukuri but this because Utao was bending while she should have sit up without moving. Too bad Kukuri was getting good at the game.

I was really happy to see Utao in another dress in the spoiler
I loved seeing her face when Kyouhei and Hibino asked what clumsy things she did while she did none other than break some plates. Utao was cute when she made this face in response to Hibino wanting to bring her along to shop around. In the end I was surprised that Kukuri reacted to Kyouhei's presence and it makes me wonder if that's what it was or was it Utao summoning it for herself as seen in the spoiler
I still liked seeing her like that looking at the stars. Really lots of Narutaru vibes.

Some points about Kuuko Karahari the new character.
Well the following here was a corny situation. Please next time try not scratch your balls in front of a friend especially if that friend is a girl and such a nice shot of Hibino's breast in the spoiler

About the end and preview. In the end we are presented with Aki in the spoiler
in that a very easy foreshadow of a massacre starting may be coming up. The preview just tell that it's going to get better and better. For one more Utao comedic reaction is great and Hibino in another outfit is nice to see but most important will be my favorite part from the PV whom is the props here. A further relation fortifier between Hibino/Utao. Oh yes! Mister 3rd user of a Kakashi is coming up. One of the cool guys with his shades and some juicy Kyouhei confronting Aki here. So like IMO it shall be getting better.

Discuss the ritual link up please, I would like your opinion on that one.

Oh MAL with it's fabulous lag.
Right. Ishikawa Chiaki. Still totally approve.
Though I still sigh every time those unnaturally huge boobs come into sight. ( ¬‿¬)
Now, where have I heard this guy's voice before, anyway?

Oh, good job. You blew it up. Way to go, girl. ( ¬‿¬)
At least that gave Utao some extra training, I guess.

And why does every damn anime have some of that absolutely awful CGI in it these days?

Also, I'll be damned if Kuga doesn't control his own kakashi by the end of the show.
Kukuri will stay with Utao though. Just for the sake of it.

Also, lolKyuubey.

Good to see that main character has depth. On surface he is your traditional lead fool, but there's something deeper, more complex, more mature, more dark behind all that and i like that.Reminds me of Alive-The Final Evolution manga lead post-timeskip a bit.

Also the show VERY nicely meshes the dark situations with lighthearted ones. I like that.

This was rather a mediocre episode. Nothing special happened save the rescue of the red-haired researcher girl by Utao's doll. Utao still has problems to manage her doll and I think Kuga will return to the doll masters. I hope in the next episode there will be more action.

I wish something more happened, but it looks like next episode will kick things up a notch. I did like seeing how difficult it was to control Kukuri, though.

Full thoughts for the episode here on my blog.

I'm curious to learn more about what happened with Kyohei and Aki in that flashback.

Nice episode thought not much happened... it makes me wonder what the plot of the anime is, is that other guy (with the white hair, what's his name?) the evil person they have to catch and stop?

Seems like the main char snapped at some point or the other guy did, looking at all those corpses it seems like something nasty happened...

The "saving people trapped in a car" cliche has got to stop. Honestly, if such events happened in real life, the kakashi would have probably added enough injuries to those people to kill them. This episode was overall a step in the wrong direction in my opinion because of how lighthearted it was, but we'll see how this will go.

Now that was an episode with nothing in it. Sort of pointless 23 mins but at least we got to know the lead dude a bit more. Bit of a complex character is always appreciated.

Hibino was overreacting over that scene >.>
So Seki's are quiet the divine creatures. They must be looked upon by the villagers like prophets. The ability to bind one's soul with a God; wow.
Hope it picks up the pace of the 1st episode because I do like how much ever pieces of the plot we got so far.

One mention:

It starts as soft and goes wild later on. The manga is even more sick. So this will be darker than the manga from what I am hearing? Good because Narutaru chickened out on the heavy stuff from the manga. Is there a LN of this series and if so then is it following more the darker side of that LN?

I'm a little worried at this point. So far, I can only see two possibilities: either it'll have a wildly changing mood throughout, which isn't good, or it's pretending to be light-hearted so it can shock us later, which makes me wanna punch the writers.

I'm saying it right now: if either of those girls die within the next three episodes, I'm dropping this show. I don't need that kind of cheap drama.

I get this weird vibe that the Kamisama has a personality that merges with it's Seki. That what the Seki feels the Kamisama feels. When Utao asked Kyohai "do you not like the kakashi?!" i started to get that vibe. My vibe was also reaffirmed when Kyohai talked to Kukuri and it decided it decided to go to to Utao after he asked his question like it was a response. Utao also acting as if she was talking to Kukuri when he appeared and woke her.

maybe Aki's Kamisama has a dark side that twists Aki's mind. not that he wasn't that stable to begin with.

Decent show, I'll keep watching.

Going by the opening hints of nature/technology contrast, I would not be surprised on if its used in the plot. People finding out about these things is bound to be bad.

Maybe its madoka magicka influence on me, but I can't help but feel that those dolls are evil.

Kuga's narration about them bringing only despair gave me a strong flashbacks of Mai Hime anime(and mai otome manga).

Hm, why is that not good? That worked perfectly for FMA:Brotherhood, Chrono Crusade and about a dozen of other masterpieces.

And why exactly is that? Perfectly executed mood swings are what makes these kinds of shows enjoyable. Its no interesting unless everything happy falls apart

There's shifting mood and WILDLY shifting mood, which is like the difference between a roller coaster and a car wreck.

No, it's interesting if there's something meaningful to the conflict. If you rapidly strip away everything good, the conflict can easily lose all meaning, as you may lose interest in who comes out on top. I've seen this happen quite a few times, where a story gets dark enough that who wins or loses has no effect in the end, and that kind of story just doesn't work for me.

Best part for me was when Utao dropped the two people they rescued into the water. Also.
I just love the similar expressions on the siblings' faces in response to that.

When Kyohei explained about how the power of Kakashi only brings misery...yep, pretty much fits the description of Kyubei.

It was... ok. I actually found the first episode better though I loved the way they managed to switch the mood from lighthearted to serious without feeling forced in this one. I give them that.

I'm still really interested in the village, the kakashi, and the mysteries they hold. My main complain about this episode is that not much happened. I guess they needed time to introduce the new characters (I already hate Kuuko, she was the worst part of the episode) and to develop the relationships between the main a bit while everything is still happy. I just think they could have done that in a better way.

The one thing that will always work in literature, whatever type it may be, is suspense. You keep watching because you want to know what will happen. I want to find out more about the dolls. Guess I will keep watching.

Well I think this ep was pretty good. I hope the story goes uphill from here! Haha, I'm also getting tons of Narutaru vibes, though I think it'd be kinda cool if things got kinda creepy insane like they do in Narutaru...haha. Well whatever happens I hope it's interesting. :D

And I gotta admit Aki is the most interesting character to me so far. I'm such a sucker for the staple pyscho bishounen killers. TwT;;

I was about to drop this because the storyline doesn't seem like my cup of tea, but I love gore and since there's probably some (hopefully a lot) gore in it I'm continuing for now.

This episode was a lot better than the first, I really liked it.
I'm hoping we'll get a seriously good storyline soon. And not just that dude's history, but an actual storyline and plot development.

Also Miyuki Sawashiro ‹3

Kamisama Dolls was a total cliche, very predictable and dry. I had so much expectations for this and they failed me. To think that Mawaru Penguindrum with less funds allocated would pave better than this one. Argh.

It would be best to have the title changed to Cornysomuch Dolls. Argh.

Miyuki Sawashiro just managed to make Kuuko 10x more awesome.

Interesting episode. I'm really curious about our main guy's past.

Also the show VERY nicely meshes the dark situations with lighthearted ones. I like that.

This, plus the direction is just great, the plot compelling and the characters deep/interesting. And Angela of course. Best new anime of the season so far along with Mawaru Penguindrum.

In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.
