This show is not an action thriller but some of the content from this episode made quite an impression. Nancy in particular was quite amusing to watch with that supernatural vaccum of hers.

I like how the way they added comedy in this episode too, almost unintentionally. That cliffhanger is chilling though.

Lots of action in this episode. Fighting that big soot didn’t look too hard for them with the help of Oliver.

Oh yeah, the iconic Belle twins breaking coffee bottles scene, the most important event and the most tragic of this arc imo

Such an unpredictable, just when I thought I'm gonna see how Emilico avoid drinking coffee this time, sudderly a lot of scorches appear.

I guess the barbie figure is Christopher, I guess he's trying to rebel the house by using scorch to control the twin to destroy the coffee. His soot power might associate with scorch.

Definitely feels like a potential turning point in the series. If the belles really didn’t break the coffee of their own volition, it probably wasn’t them that made emilico bark like a dog earlier either. Someone else must be pulling the strings behind the scenes. Can’t wait to find out who.

After seeing the Living Doll Christopher's performance, now I understand why he's so revered in the Shadows House: he's one that even his Shadow companion can attest of his likeness. It's the same for both Barbie and Barbara's affluence...that somehow in the process, got tragic.

Kate's investigation into the Star Bearer process gets a start, and Louise's interpretation of Sarah through her soot...is definitely interesting. The Belle twins Isabelle and Mirabelle who's been cooking up to the Star Bearers, it soon becomes reality that being one is not so easy at all to escape this House.

Once again, the Party of Delight to instill manipulating coffee...is cut short due to Rose getting soot sickness, but in effect from scorches that are much stronger than those in the Garden Labyrinth, and it's become a real commotion especially for those infected that need treatment immediately. But...the scorches fusing together to become a phantom, not even Ben and Shaun can fist them out, so it's Oliver's research experimentation to the rescue with his vacuum cleaner. While Nancy is a good helper, it's Emilico whom takes the deal to help him do a major cleaning.

The masked cloaked entity makes its first appearance as the one controlling the scorches, so that's an alignment from the manga. Barbie doing her job as a Star Bearer to direct things around, and it seems like she's doing a better job, thanks to Emilico containing the scorches phantom.

On this day...the Shadows House is tormented by an outside force, and containing this will be a problem going forward.

Glad that it wasn't just a simple repetitive story of "How will we avoid the coffee?". A huge scorch monster was the main foe this episode, and that huge soot machine that Oliver made came in handy. We also got to see the cloaked individual, and he/she remains shrouded in mystery.

This is getting interesting, and this could be a major turning point in how the children's wing of the Shadows House functions.

Thought Olly was looking to Ben to handle the vacuum but Emilico took the initiative. As per usual she's got guts. I wonder why Rosemary gets targeted by them. And why do the scorches target the "living dolls" instead of the shadows?
Love the mystery aspect of this series.

The second night of delight episode. And its chaos because of the attacked by scorches then combine to be a huge phantom. Other faces are hit by soot sickness. And with the help of the invention of Ollie and Oliver. And Emilico uses the vaccuum to sucked the phantom with her acrobatic skills.

Robe figure appeared that Shaun and Ricky chased but they come short. New character cameo like Nancy. And at the end of the episode is the plot twist that the twins broke the bottle of coffee. Overall its a good action and great episode

Quite a fun episode to watch. and that fight against the giant shadow, I just saw a scene from The Simpsons with that same problem with a hose
The ships intensify

And well, that ending puts the twins and Maryrose at the center of my theories (because we already saw the power of the shadow twins and because it was Rosemary who started the attack)

Things really heating up now, although that fight was a little too comical for my liking, given the nature of this show. This show has one of the best mystery elements I've seen in a long time, always left wondering what the hell is going to happen next and where the direction is headed.

Emilico really loves playing hero. The way she operated the nozzle was fantastic though, mainly in destroying the phantom. Poor Rosemary and Mia😥

The mysterious figure Shaun and Ricky were chasing got me up. If it wasn't for Ricky's chatter they might've ambushed it silently.

Really terrible episode. The animation budget and direction for the show aren't strong enough to have such a long, drawn-out battle. "Wow, this vacuuming thingamajig sure is unwieldy. Let's give it to the tiniest little girl in the whole house!" You'd think there would be betting on whether she will die or not, but there's no real currency, I suppose. It's probably going to be a very easy guess as to who the robed-figure is. The music is also dreadfully used during the battle and "funny" parts. :(

Yeah, this was not a good episode, and I would argue it's in fact one of the weakest of the entire show so far. Other than the twins breaking the coffee, I don't think we really got anything new from this episode, and I definitely don't come to this of all shows for drawn out "battle" scenes like the Scorch fight. More to the point, the show already did something similar to this in season 1, albeit on a much smaller scale, so we gained nothing new from that. And no way in hell I believe that Emilico, the smallest Doll in the entire house, could handle Olliver's device so easily compared to everyone else.

Also, I really don't think the "Robed Doll" is anywhere near as interesting a mystery as the show seems to think it is, not least because it's not really clear why its presence is relevant to literally anything. On top of that, the presence of the Christopher flashbacks when he's supposedly absent from the house just makes it incredibly obvious that he'll end up being the Robed Doll, so it's not as if there's even any intrigue on that front. On top of that, I think it's also reasonable to assume that the Robed Doll is the one with those "puppeteering" Soot powers that were used on Emilico and seemingly used on the Belles too, otherwise there would be no point introducing the Robed Doll at this point in the narrative if it's not relevant to everything else going on.

Maybe it would work better if the show actually gave it proper focus rather than having it running so low-key in the background as to be very easily forgettable until it's brought up again; that would also be infinitely preferable to wasting half an episode on an inane, ill-fittingly comedic Scorch fight.

Yeah, the small amount of scorch fighting in the first season seemed fine, but I would have assumed they'd handle it in a more elaborate fashion at this point or if there is an "invasion" it wouldn't be handled so directly.

The other thing that bothered me was that you'd think they would have gone for the cleaning gear after a few of the characters were zombified. If you can roll in a massive vacuum cleaner and have the characters twiddle their thumbs for so long, I'm sure you can also regroup with the suits and masks.

I'm anime only with SH, so I'm not sure, but I kind of get the feeling the author is going to conveniently forget the cleaning gear, which would prevent the scorches from getting in the mouth. Indeed, the only surprise at all was the coffee smashing...

Not gonna lie, I thought Emilico acting like a dog was just Emilico doing Emilico things lol. So there is someone in the house who is able to control other Living Dolls, huh?

Also gotta love how, in the middle of all the chaos, Olly still had a moment to properly explain how the vacuum cleaner works to Emilico.

Pretty good episode, loved the small details and how some shots were identical callbacks to the manga. I think it's the first time I watch an anime where I have read the manga beforehand.

Kate owning the twins will never get old. Also Mia getting wrecked was surprisingly satisfying to see animated.

Can't wait for the next episode, I hope Kate's VA kills it. Soot icicles hype!

Gotta bear in mind that it's harder to pace this stuff in anime. What may seem like a few panels in the manga takes several minutes (the whole machine + explanation on how it works) in anime, so it seemed like a lot of time had passed and the giant ghost was there just chilling, that also bothered me a bit.

Edit:

That was the twins doing (to which Kate retaliated by making them trip), I also felt like the anime failed to make it more obvious.

The huge soot attack was already tense but it's nice that finally they're teasing a lot about the mystery side and who's behind all of that regarding the attack or even the controls with the coffee being destroyed, at this point it will only get better and better for the investigations

The direction of the soot fight was quite clumsy, but at least it delivered something to watch for during the next episode. I honestly dont like how the series is approaching the different scenes, seems like it has too many things to tell at once, but I honestly dont see those concepts anyways

Nancy is super adorable in duo with Ollie, the crazy scientist living doll. Emilico took full advantage of the situation and battle-tested the soot cutting machine. All in all it was a very entertaining fight plus we had a glimpse of a mysterious figure who may be (in)directly involved in the incident with the twins.

And also it took me three episodes to get used to new OP and ED, they are pretty good in their place.

Well this episode is a shock and I love it. These Christopher flashbacks sure are a sight, we're pretty much waiting on what made him fuck up to get the title of "We Don't Talk About Christopher" in this Shadows House.

Anyways that Scorch Cleaning scene sure is funny for some reason, there are parts where for some reason they're making it comedic even though the situation sure is bleak. Nancy is fun and Oliver (which might be me in short time) is madman as a motherfucker and I love how they interacted with our Emilyko.

They did succeed in a way but Rosemary and Mia have the soot still stuck in their system (alliteration tho) and the Belles fucked up the coffee...yeah if they are not going to be executed, the punishment is sure going to be as severe. Yes Emilyko the Childrens House is fucked up this time around.

hahaha

i considered dropping this after episode 2, but i saw people saying this season starts to get good with episode 3. THAT was good?

no, it wasn't. it was a mediocre, wannabe comedy for most the episode

only part of the episode i liked was when those 2 bumped heads trying to catch emilico. shit had me cracking up (i like watching "fail" videos on the interwebz) even though that type of scene has nothing to do with the general tone of this anime

5/10. not good. dropped. the first few episodes in season 1 were SO GOOD, and now i'm so bored

this show has a serious problem when it comes to action scenes. The same thing happened in s1 (when MR got the sickness in one of the first eps) but this time it got 10 times worse. They're supposed to be in danger and yet they spend most of the time just standing there doing nothing or having conversations, like when that big a$$ monster was right in front and they decided it was time for some good ol' teaching....... but the monster was nice enough to stay still and let them finish so that's nice of it. lol. come on now.

This show has no right to be as slow as it is. This type of story is not suited to be dragging forever. It'll lose both it's magic and mystique and i'm sure it'll devolve into some type of battle shonen if it drags on too long.
