| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- The game continues! Kou threw the bat away accidentally when batting. Aoba believes in Kou. Seishu seems to protect the point well, but Ryuoh still have confidence. (The truth was, Kou was shocked at that batter hitting his ball. That's why his hand didn't catch the bat well) That new pitcher is batting and he hit his ball, too, and Kou is trying to do the same with that batter he was afraid of, but the ball passed his grove. So... Seishu lost, no extended game. Kou was trying to prove that his hand is fine and is wondering why he missed. Others/ 3rd years thought Kou did incredible even though they lost and hugged him. Next day Kou woke up with a noisiness. They live normal life again. Aoba is in practice. The noisiness is from the construction for the Soba shop that will be opened next door/near to Kou's house. At night they met the girl who looks like Wakaba. |

| Nice game. I guess we can tell from last episode's preview that the game would end in this episode, and life goes back to normal after that --> Seishuu will lose the game. Such a pity since Seishuu was just so close! But I guess they can't reach this climax that soon ^^; Aoba seems to like Kou more, after watching his incredible performance in the match against Ryuou. More importantly, From what I saw from the preview, is the next episode a recap episode?? At the end of the episode, they were giving away free limited-edition wallpapers if you answer the quiz question correctly. | Great ep, such a shame that they lost thought, but I knew they were gonna!! Aoba is falling for Kou, but what about this "Wakaba"...she's gonna throw a fork in the mix. Is she just a look alike, or is she really her? As much as I would like it to be her, and have hear re-unite with her family and Kou, I hope not, b/c I think Kou and Aoba should be together, just my opinion though. Can't wait to see what's next...Urahara Out!! |

| Good episode. Though I'm glad that they seem to be addressing the whole navigating Kou to realizing his feelings for Aoba with this new chick, I don't like that she's a Wakaba doppelganger. It's too gimmicky, and I felt like Kou seeing that half smile from Aoba on the bus does much more for their relationship. Hopefully I'll be surprised. I guess now is the time to focus on getting Aoba able to play on-field. |
| I like the game in this episode despite they are losing. Other than that I have been waiting for that girl, not really for the sake of something but for what exactly they want to do with her now that we have been having Aoba all this time. |

| Best episode yet? Probably. I'm starting to really fall in love with this series. <3 And isn't the "Wakaba" only Aoba dressing up? I thought that was pretty obvious, but eh. |

The demographic for this show boggles my mind. There's some pretty heavy matereal in there, but the pre-show and post-show segments make it seem like its geared towards little kids... Azuma's a second year, so no worries. We still have the golden bat to look forward too. It amazes me how much I can get into this show. It's the first sports anime I've watched, and I never thought they would fit my tastes before. I can't believe Seishu lost! Bah. But, I think it was a pretty realistic ending to the game. This was a great episode. |

Aoba smiles to Kou at the bus after game ended .. 3rd yrs hugged Kou .. n Azuma was completely fine with Kou's play at the match! Mishima .. "Kitamura Kou, huh?" "Now there'll be no excuse for us losing. after defeating this pitcher .." n finally the Wakaba-like character appears! 5/5 ep! hope next ep don't rly become a recap >_<" n looking forward to more n more from this show~ |

| I loved how kou's voice was dumbstruck seeing wakaba, he took the words out of my mouth ^^ The only thing I can't figure out is what Mizuki's role is going to be and why he still hasn't left yet :P |

| It was a good game, with a somewhat lame ending. Aside from the match ending in an accidental kind of way - setting up Seishu's inevitable victory in the third year - I enjoyed it a lot; even with my limited baseball knowledge and lack of caring for the sport. I always knew they were going to lose due to the huge amount of time spent on the game, as well as Adachi liking to leave everything important until near the end/the last year of high school, but that didn't impact on my enjoyment levels too much. In terms of baseball, Cross Game continues to be very good. In terms of romance, it's been average at best, though - there having been little to none of it. Bringing a clone of the love interest (in this case, deceased love interest) of lead characters into the mix is done far too often for me not to roll my eyes over Wakaba's clone appearing out of nowhere. And if an AobaxAzuma relationship develops out of NOWHERE (suggested by the OP edits and new ED), just so that the romance drama matches up with the title, that will be pretty lame, considering there hasn't been anything whatsoever between them so far. I wish, instead of fannying around, Adachi would let the obvious main couples in his stories get together and have their relationships develop alongside the sporting side... ...oh, ja, and now Mizuki's character appears to be 100% filler. What's the point of him taking up time when he isn't a serious love rival and isn't involved in the baseball side at all? He's one of the most worthless characters known to mankind. |

| Despite the fact that they lost, it was still a great game. :D The "Wakaba" at the end though... Yeah, seriously, what?! I was also stunned. Can see from what others have said, though, that it's not actually her... but still. Having a character appear that looks exactly like an already dead character... Isn't that a bit cliché? D: Though maybe it'll speed up the development of Aoba and Kou's relationship a bit... Is it just me or does the ED also hint at the possibility of Aoba and Azuma...? o_O Probably just me, huh... |

| And as I thought... They lost. Well, it was obvious. Ryyou had a better team to compensate. Akaichi is a great catcher, but he's lacking skill at batting. Nakanishi also lack of timing. The rest of the team... It's hard to tell. Wakaba double..? Anyway, impossible that it's her. Errr, make it even more painful :( |

| Well sadly Kou's Team lost so it looks like they'll have to go to koushien on their final year. Sadly i knew about the wakaba clone not due to the OP but to me accidentally clicking on her character page when i was looking for wakaba. Interested on seeing where this goes. Kou doesn't show his "feelings" all to much within the show so we'll see what happens. |

| Bit of an anticlimactic ending to the game but I kind of expected them to lose. They introduced the "star players" very late and I couldn't see them only playing for a few innings only to lose. |

| I'm not sure how I feel about the Wakaba look-alike. Sure, it's one of the few ways to shake up the romance development, but I wouldn't have minded slow and steady in that department. I'll reserve judgement for now though. More importantly, that was still a great game despite Seishuu's loss. I think it was clearly set up to show that they can indeed make it to Koshien. |
