I think I just took a feels trip.

I sensed some insecurity with the shaking but I think that might be expected with what happened. I really liked how the guys were going at it with the practicing to improve themselves despite their harsh lives. And Nekota...oh man, that was quite a memorable moment there. His opponent can go bite the dust.

HOLY SHIT!!! Now that's how drama should be done.

The directing this episode had was just beautiful!

The despair could totally be felt and the feelz were just too damn realistic!

Nekota's condition and the way they animated his gritting teeth and his shaking eyes was so good!! Depicts the emotions he's going through perfectly!

And the love triangle with Yuki too. Damn!

Such a strong girl, coming from Hiroshima and still being able to smile like that :* l

The cliffhanger at the end was brilliant! Nekota having a down on the Bastard! Friggin intense!!

Nxt ep is gonna be absolutely amazing >_<

Bravo Based MH!

This whole episode sent shivers down my spine. A love triangle under those circumstances, what a bad time to be born in. Nekota's sickness really creeps me out.

That ending, Nekota brought him down quick. Now he just needs to finish him off before his sickness starts acting up.

These last two episodes have been amazing. I prefer them over this season altogether and would watch a spin-off if the plotting allowed it.

Nekota has an awesome presence as a fighter.

At least it explains why Nekota acts a bit dimwitted towards Aokimura. I mean when he first meets them, he mistakens them for foreign boxers and congratulates them on their "KO wins" against the Papaya and Battery lol.

But I loved how Miyano Mamoru has voiced acted as a young Kamogawa. I don't watch too much new anime and I am mostly familiar with his roles as younger characters such as Light and Setsuna so I like how he portrays a Kamogawa in the twilight of his career.

And when Nekota comes home, he is acting more like the old Nekota but in a very creepy way.

I think this part of the anime is being very faithful to the manga. I can't complain about Kosugi Jurota being underused as Anderson since he didn't have much dialog in the manga either, but I think his selection for the character perfectly compliments Ohtsuka Akio as Brian Hawk.

But I still feel cheated that this is a short series when the series is like 45 plus volumes behind in the manga and there is so much material to use (like Takamura's Japan journey after beating Eagle and Aoki being Broccoman).

This episode was a feel trip. Also, that cliffhanger if it can be called that way. But I guess the fight isn't over yet right? Because it would be a little of waste.

Oh, so the girl is from Hiroshima, probably suffering from radiation sickness and Nekota suffering from the early signs of Parkinson.

If anyone is curious Yuki has symptoms of TB (Tuberculosis) and Nekota is suffering from Dementia pugilistica which is a result of multiple concussions.

Yeah this is probably among my favourite Ippo eps, The atmosphere and coloring really helps to accentuate the time their living in. Animation was top notch too, some scenes reminded me of Hellsing Ultimate and even Kaiji.

Same here, especially as there's about 500 chapters more that haven't been animated. They should do 1 season per year really until it's down to something like 200 or so.

Great ep, Nekota is a boss.

well, when nekota was first introduced, it was already established he was punch drunk anyway. it's nice to show that the flashback is re-introducing he had it from when he was 28 starting his last fight with kamogawa.

but i like how the young nekota is a mix of sendo's wildness with itagaki's agility and miyata's footspeed. that is one dangerous combination.

What an awesome episode. When it was revealed that she came from Hiroshima to Tokyo it gave me the chills.

It's truly amazing how this series can grab onto your emotions unlike other average shonen series.

So much tension in this episode ;_; GO Nekota GO

With his skills, it's a shame that we don't get to see Nekota fight much. It sure would be interesting. Same goes for Kamogawa!

Wtf? How's the american on his knees? Did Nekota actually deal a decisive blow? But the real question I want to know is how is Nekota still alive currently? Has he been punch drunk all these years? And also that was such a good bro moment when Kamogawa was thinking of Nekota's feelings before his own. That's the problem when you and your best friend like the same person, someone is bound to get hurt.

When Nekota was introduced initially, it was established he was punch drunk and he did shake a bit. Watch the first episode or read the first chapter with him. Anderson's weakness will be addressed in the next episode naturally (I actually figured this weakness out playing the first PS2 game, though the cut scenes addressed this I never bothered with them, sometimes they could be longer than an MGS one).

Keep in mind Muhammad Ali is still alive and also has Pugilistic Parkinson's Syndrome and Joe Louis lived pretty long with the condition himself.

Yep. There's a stark difference when the original director is involved. After all, the first Ippo series was the best too.

But don't get me wrong. The rest of this season has also been really good.
