Wow, those Titans are bastards. Beating up poor Bright-san like that.

How come the Titans' green ships looked like Zeons at the end? Or were those actual Zeon remnant pilots?

Its an interesting way to start the series, with an unlikeable kid who's an antagonist, but I am still very much...lost.

Damn Titans!

Yeah, that's the one flaw with many Gundam's I'd say. They often just kind of throw you right into the pit, especially with Zeta here. But it certainly deveops and the delivery for the series itself is well done ... not exacty sure what I'm wanting to say here, but yeah. :P

I like the way the new Zeon Mobile Suits look. Nice battle at the end aswell. I got ultra-pissed when Bright was getting the shit beat out of him. Also, I wonder when we will get an explanation for all this. Who are the Titans? ._.;

wow, he turned traitor, that was unexpected; but can't blame him, those titans are jerks! now they have two gundams, compared to the mass produced model one ones the federation has, and the titans have zakus... that seems strange considering they are a anti-zeon faction

Intense episode, but let me see if I got this straight, you have the Federation and in the Federation you have this new "faction" that are the Titans, and the protagonist is going against these Titans? If so did he just ran off with Char? (I think it was Char wasnt it??)

This episode reminded me a lot of SEED.

Camille is really immature and acting like a brat, he stole a Gundam in order to get his revenge and he joined the group of terrorist without thinking twice. Maybe he hated his own colony but that was really an immature and too hasty decision.
Also coincidence for the win, he really had a lot of chance that a retard destroyed the building where he was interrogated and he really had a lot of chances that at the same time a group of terrorist created a mess in order to steal the gundam, so that he could join them.

And that's quite surprising the military have such a low security.
Camille stole the Gundam quite easily, it's all due to the mess I guess, but the group of terrorist also didn't have a lot of difficulties to pierce though the colony.

It's kinda funny how almost EVERY Titan we encounter is a total meathead jerk.
They have no right to push around Bright like that!

I'm watching the dub, btw. I miss Bright's old voice.
It was so fitting and had such a natural commander-feeling to it. I dunno how else to explain it.
Char's new voice sounds like the old, but I think it is. 'Cept it's toned down a bit.

Again, with all of these factions..
I don't know who to trust, yet.
But so far, I'm with Char.

Don't you know?
You can't actually pilot a Gundam unless it's been stolen or taken without permission.

If by the off chance you do pilot a Gundam without stealing it, your skills in the machine decrease by 95%. As evident by the guy who couldn't pilot the Gundam MK Two that well against Char.

Interesting choice, pitting Kamille against the old protagonists. I'm thinking the Titans are a group of Newtypes organized for the Federation military. Their genetically-superior nature probably cause a class division and a lot of social tension.

If that's true, Kamille might be like an angry teen version of a civil rights warrior, with a giant robot.

Really though, those robots need to get some password protection. Security is lax

Right? This Kamille kid's such a renegade! He's 17, though, so it isn't too surprising. ;) I don't mind him as a lead at all.

..."just a common officer"? Don't you dare touch him like that! He's /Bright/. Every last person in that room should be slapped.

An interesting episode and series so far, yet certainly confusing. I like and instantly recognized Captain Bosk's voice actor, namely Gouri, Daisuke , the same voice as King Cold, Gyoumo and others from DB/DBZ , as well as the Zabi named Dozle from the original Mobile Suit Gundam. I predicted a slap to Bright, not the full on assault that happened, however i guess that indicates we are supposed to not like the Titans this series.

Another point to consider is the somewhat lackluster reason Kamille decides to snatch the Gundam, namely to get "revenge" on the crony Titan or whatever that beat him up after Kamille foolishly charged him and his men in the first place.. Seems like a thin plot line for why someone would want to steal a Gundam, and travel to outerspace with the official "enemy", all the while being in imminent danger once they get the Gundam and decide a 17 year old boy is expendable. While surely Char's fascination with the Newtype Aura he is reading from Kamille will prevent that from happening, there is no logical reasoning behind why the supposedly intelligent Kamille shouldn't realize his plight. The only explanation left sans the obvious "That's the way the author wanted it duh" is that Kamille rushes headlong into dangerous and foolish situations without worrying about the consequences. This atleast is in line with his antics in the first episode so its acceptable. That is however quite a contrast from Amuro, who generally was not oblivious to the consequences of his actions and was aware and nervous of the dangers of his predicaments.

I think that after the One Year War, all the leftover Zeons surrendered to the Federations and even joined their military and I guess whatever Zakus were left are being used as well... Just my speculation.

And wow Kamille is already proven to be a bigger pain in the ass than Amuro.
Really enjoying how things are panning out and the animation is really great.

Nope you weren't only one who is lost and who laughed when they slapped Bright. Well, when they strted to punch him more and kick him while he is down I stopped. That wasn't fun anymore.

Kamille is in intresting situation. Pretty intresting that Gundam pilot steals Gundam from federation and then just joins freedom fighters/terrorists. I wonder if he is going to desert to federation at some point?

Really loving the start to this series compared to MSG 0079.

It's weird 'cause I actually like Kamille, and I usually hate characters that make the stupidest decisions like him. But I guess it's pretty funny how insane his character is. Punching anyone that thinks his name sounds like a girl's name, and using a mobile suit just to bully the guy that bullied him is pretty crazy. This guy has some serious anger issues LOL.

Yeah, he did say he hate the Federation but he hates Titans even more in this episode.

Poor guy, Bright doesn't deserve those beating.

So the inside faction of Federation, that is Titan, is a stuck up organization which founded by taking all of credit on the 0083 event. Now they're being jerk, not approved by civilians and already made an enemy called A.E.U.G. I feel sorry for the Federation.

He's definitely one crazy motherfucker, and for some weird reason I'm kinda rooting for him : insanity is not that common a trait for protagonists, especially that young, so it's pretty refreshing to see some mad kid running around and wrecking shit everywhere LMAO

Poor Brighto-san: they had no right to do that to him, those bastards.
Also, are we gonna get slaps and punches every episode ? Not that I'm complaining, though...

Liking this so far: I'm not that lost story-wise cause I'm watching 0083 at the same time, so I somewhat manage to follow, and with Char around things are bound to get interesting.

Amazing episode!!

Gundam Mk II looks ace!! And i lol'd that kids who steal and pilots these things are much much better than the actual pilots XD

Though Kamille said he had some data from his father so at least it's more realistic compared to Amuro where he read a manual for 2 minutes and instantly he knows how to pilot it!

So the girl's name is Fa!?! She reminds of Frau which have both similar names

Damn Kamille just bullied the hell out of that dumb officer. Seems Char and Bright is getting some Amuro vibes on him.

Emma Sheen looks like Mirai, i wonder if she'll works with Bright as well ^^

Feel sorry for Bright. The fact that he was one of the people who fought Zeon to end the One Year War and he get's treated like this.

Seriously WTF is wrong with these people, show some respect.

Char as usual owning these noobs.

I had a feeling we wouldn't be on the Federation's side this time, but I'm still ticked off at Kamille. Is he a freaking psychopath? Stealing a Gundam to get revenge on that officer is such absurd overkill, and beyond that he betrayed his country on the spot. I think he deserves to be locked up. I don't care if the Titans are jerks; he's worse.

Their beating of Bright, on the other hand, was pretty annoying. It sounds like people living in space are being discriminated against- something I don't find surprising given how the Federation treated everyone on the White Base in MSG. Because of that I couldn't really "root for" the Federation until near the end in MSG when it was made abundantly clear how much worse Zeon was in comparison. I may actually end up rooting for AEUG this time around.

I do feel uneasy about the possibility of Kamille going up against the former members of the White Base. Even though I don't like the Federation, my first impression is that I wouldn't want to see Amuro defeated. I'm sure there's a way it could be done that would make the story better, but I'm not entirely confident that it would happen in such a way. I feel like Amuro matured a lot over the course of MSG, and he hasn't actually done anything wrong in terms of how the Federation governs. Plus, again, I really don't like Kamille (though I suppose that could change).

Eh. At least we have Char.

Also, why is the Federation using Zakus? That seems really odd given that they're trying to hunt down Zeon remnants.

Not to be a blatant Feddie apologist, but part of that handling definitely had to do with them being amateurs, civilians, and spearheaded by teenagers to boot. If we implied elements expanded in side-material seep in, there's also the bureacratic factionalism against Revil's 'special project' to boot. So for an irregular force during a trialling war, it's not an unusual situation if not excusable.

No, no, I don't mind a bit. I'm not insisting that the Federation is rotten through and through, but there certainly seem to be problem areas.

That's actually what made the situation so bad in the first place, to me. They had no business forcing underage war refugees into being soldiers. It wasn't the White Base civilians' fault that they were exposed to military secrets; to then insist that they must either be imprisoned or drafted is too much, imo.

That doesn't exactly translate into all-out discrimination, but it did leave me with a general bad impression.

Why are spacenoids discriminated against? Because they're basically space-australians. Fucking convicts, the lot of 'em. Or something like that. It'll all become clear by the time you finish Unicorn.

Also it's not a Zaku, it's a Hizack. Basically, after the war, all three of Zeon's MS manufacturers (or, what was left of them) were purchased by Anaheim. Hence, some of their later designs resemble Zakus in the way that the redstone rocket resembles the V-2.

Also, anything that looks like a zaku is a handy way to show that whoever is piloting it is not a good guy.

The best way to get you to hate the new antagonists is to get them to beat up Bright, hihi. I'm starting to wonder whether I should start a random punching-counter as well. There may be a bit too many of them.

The Titans are a more interesting antagonist than the Zeon were because their morals are much more clear. While the Zeon felt like an empire battling against a republic or something along those lines, the Titans actually feel like an "evil" group. It seems like they are being taught from a young age that space people are inferior to Earth people. I like this choice, because as we all know, most of the best Gundam characters were born in space ^_^

I honestly hope some of the original White Base crew is among the rebels. It would be especially interesting to see them interact with Char as an ally, after seeing them spend such a long time as enemies. I am also curious about what is going through Bright's head right now... This is a promising show :3
