I suggest to try playing the video first and see if there's any problem, since I really doubt you'd see 40mbps maximum bitrate when the overall bitrate is just ~3Mbps. But if it is problematic, then go ahead and convert it to a lower bitrate.

Well, anime is more passive and costs less time ^^. And I don't like to read online, so manga also costs me money :P
But I've heard the manga is great too and includes much additional material (2 more students + stuff about the other teachers)

I have my reasons. And really, LoGH =/= oldfag these days. Any old casual chum can pick up and watch that show, then go around "YEAH I HAVE THE HARUHI MOVIE AS ONE OF MY FAVORITE FILMS OF ALL TIME, B-BUT WAIT I'VE SEEN LOGH, IT'S COOL DUDE, IT'S COOL"

I've seen several of those types having seen the series. Real oldschool fags not only have LoGH as their favorite anime, but also the likes of Touch, Future Boy Conan and Maison Ikkoku.

I finished it yesterday too, but I won't read the manga (too lazy for mangas). Also I need to finish some series before Tuesday :/
But it's pretty sad, that that was already everything from GTO :(

Easiest way is to use Handbrake, or MeGUI (google them). Reencode the video to a lower bitrate. Search google for tutorial on how to use them, since I don't use them myself, sorry.

Anyway, you sure the file is 40Mbps?

lol, the guy got self-owned. Well actually, I was disappointed with the movie if you ask me. I thought the series' open-ended ending was fine the way it was, and maybe they could release another series long afterward to tie the lose end; the FMA universe still has a lot of potential.

I was putting it off until I had enough money to get the Blu-ray version so I could watch it on my TV. Plus, I was afraid they'd rape(figuratively speaking) Asuka's character. They didn't, so I'm happy. It was a great movie, btw.

Well I agree about regretting that there are only 43 episodes, however for anime in general that is already quite much. Many great series only have 11-13 episodes, which is even more of a shame :/
But your watching tempo seems to be in sync with mine ^^
