Lol, Inori still looks like a goofball at times. However, I respect her work ethic even in this episode. I also kinda like how they featured a variety of skaters this time, so not just the poster girls.

Inori's encounter with Ritsuki could've gone better when they bumped into each others' heads. Ritsuki has talent though so maybe she can also be one of Inori's rivals.

Yeah, it really wasn't looking good for a second there, but thankfully, Tsukasa being the goat he is, and Inori being influenced because of how much of a goat he is, both of them were able to lock in and hopefully be able to take this one home. But yeah, I also love the chemistry Tsukasa and Yuudai have, even though they just met a couple episodes before.

But I don't think any chemistry will beat that of Inori and the jiisan that works at the rink. I mean, bro's been there by Inori's side since day one, and even there at the competition rooting for her. Truly up there with Tsukasa in terms of goats. But yeah, we saw a lot of goats in the rink in this episode, but now it's Inori's time to shine, and we know she'll kill it... like usual.

So glad everything worked out with Inori skates man I had the most anxiety ever like how tf do you misplace those on the day of your biggest moment 😂! Coach Tsukasa again being the best coach and male role model possible by running back to get the skates so inori could compete! All’s well that ends well.

This actually might have been the best thing that ever happened because Inori was very nervous about this competition and all the talented people there and just seeing how much faith Tsukasa had in her, to run back to the train station and get her skates because he KNOWS this will be a win for her. That just instantly improved her mood and got her more locked in to her warmup!

“I’m gonna do my best” *falls* I love inori sm man she’s so derpy 🤣 I can not wait to see part two next week. Lot of tuff competition but I have full faith in her

So glad that Inori got her skates back and can now take part. Hopefully she can just relax now and do the best performance she can.

I was already so hyped to see Inori's performance and boom a cliff hanger. Here comes the pain of waiting for one week. It will be good for future watchers though.

Seems like she figured out how to use the edge to skate faster. Looking forward to a cool episode next week, hope she wins!

Wouldn’t an ice skating rink have spare skates she could’ve used?

It's amazing to see children, most of them in single-digit age, recover from their mistakes.

But are they gonna ignore the hole in the ice rink?

So if you have have moves that punish the ice a lot, is better to be first, so the people after you may get disrupted.

I really love thie anime but I got to say this ep is just mid. The storytelling is quite chaotic...... I think ENGI is saving some costs for the next one or two episodes to show Inori and Ema's skating......

Another week of waiting......

The rink receptionist coming to cheer Inori on was such a sweet and cool surprise. Can't blame Inori's mom at all for becoming fast friends with the dude lol

Going along with Tsukasa's love for dessert analogies (which are hilarious), I hope Inori serves up a super triple deluxe strawberry parfait taiyaki supreme or whatever as compensation for leaving us on a cliffhanger like that.

@ajw215799 often times the skates an ice rink has aren't made for figure skating- they might lack a toe pick (like a hockey skate) or just be a straight skate for casual skating. The skates that Inori has would also likely be baked to her feet, meaning they fit perfectly around rather than being a generic size like a shoe. It would likely cause issues with fit and feel.

And on top of that, not only are they less than optimal, but if the skates haven't been fully and/or properly broken in, they're actively painful to skate in. Like at that point you might as well just forfeit, it's at least less embarrassing than completely screwing up your program

(also, and I don't think this is something Inori would ever do, but plenty of times I've seen people refuse to compete bc they've forgotten their leotard and the generic ones were too ugly to be seen in. So yk, people will throw competitions for far less than forgetting a vital piece of equipment lmao XD)

Let's go, "Deluxe Strawberry Taiyaki"!

I wonder if there's something wrong or different about the ice, as Inori mentions her skates suddenly accelerating.

Like the ice rink manager put it, I appreciate the anime for showing many different ways to gain a competitive edge. Also, I like seeing how each athlete juggles a hundred different things, like staying confident and motivated, focusing, managing stress, recovering from mistakes.

Episode 4/5

Tsukasa gave it his all in this episode, he literally had to run for two hours straight lol I really admire this guy, he really loves teaching Inori, and it's amazing how a child like her can be grateful to him. The interaction between the two continues to be the best strong point of this incredible anime.

Even though things go well, Inori still makes a mistake at the beginning. So I think she probably won't get first place, right? But if she can do it, it will be amazing.

So glad inori finally got her skates back!! Coach tsukasa the GOAT. I love how this anime is able to balance serious and emotional moments with funny, goofy ones, and this episode is no exception. Inori’s resolve was really inspiring, it’s amazing how far she’s come in just a few episodes, can’t wait for her performance in the next episode. GANBARE INORI!!!!!

Based Tsukasa, going out of his way to collect Inori's skates by running most of the way there and back. He looked like a mess afterwards, but it was totally worth it in making sure that Inori would be able to participate in the competition.

The other competitors performed pretty well, all with their own style of moves that were enjoyable to watch. It did make Inori's nerves increase a bit due to how good her rivals have done so far, but Tsukasa was there to make sure her mind was focused on what mattered the most.

Seconds after that pep talk and words of encouragement, she ended up falling on her butt. A bit embarrassing for that to happen just before your due to start your performance, but she did recover quickly, noting why she tumbled and knows what to do with her improving speed and skillset.

I really hope that she performs to her utmost best. Same goes for Ema, who has worked hard to get where is she right now. =)

Oh that is horrible ... build us up all the way until her set and then ... end of episode.

Oh I really felt that one ... Aaaaagggghh!

Well, I am going to be distracted all week with the next episode, and whether they are going to do things right or blow it.

I am usually able to prepare myself for these types of endings, but I was distracted with other things I was doing while watching the episode, so I just got all ready for Inori's dance and then it ended ... oh I feel so pathetic right now.

Hahahahaha! 😅
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

Why do I feel like Inori is gonna get a cramp mid-performance? Oh god, hope I'm wrong with this one.

Another nice episode. We got to see other ice-skaters and gotta say the bored-looking one was the one who caught my attention the most. Mainly because it was like looking at Kanna Kamui doing ice-skating lol. I mean, they both even have the same name.

I thought the cg looked fine with Hikaru's routine a couple episodes ago but it kinda looks kinda bad in this episode. Ema's routine in particular wasn't great, making her skates the same color as her skin was definitely a weird decision too it makes her look like a mannequin. I thought Inori's finish weirdly lacked impact as well. The stuff outside of the skating was pretty well done though, I like that this story is willing to address the affect that puberty/body growth has (in this case it's seen as a raw negative) rather than kind of brushing it aside like a lot of shows with characters in this age range tend to do.

I'm glad that Tsukasa was able to recover Inori's skates and I hope that her missing/forgetting her equipment and outfit doesn't happen again because there are more important things to worry about such as beating the competition which has been impressive. On that note I think Inori will do well but I am a bit concerned about the ice crater that another girl left behind in the rink.

are ice skates custom made for each skater? I feel like sure if you can retrieve her pair go for it but I imagine there would have to be a store that sells skates near by an ice rink, but I digress since I do not know much about ice skating; Tsukasa just straight up booking it on foot instead of taking a taxi was pretty crazy though really goes to show how athletic an ice skater is

Inori almost missed the call.. almost. But yeah, running all the way and bringing her skates back needed some huge dedication. Again impressed with Tsukasa, and his role as someone more than a coach to Inori.

I don't expect it'd be THAT easy for Inori to jump straight to the top of the standings, but yeah, we know she'll land somewhere very very near.
