I feel like they are really getting us to believe that Uryū is evil. Will he have a Darth Vader style redemption moment at the end of the season and kill Yhwach?!?

Renji vs. Uryu was incredible, I love seeing the anime give them both amazing showings. The full power of Soō Zabimaru especially stood out, although it still wasn't enough to defeat Yhwach's successor.

As for the Schutztaffel report, Askin showed why he's secretly a Joestar and Lille went on an epic killstreak. Too bad Gerard has no opponents yet, he must be devastated.

Mayuri and Kenpachi's dynamic is hilarious, it makes me wonder how a fight between these two polar opposites would go. But speaking of our favourite mad scientist, his poem makes me excited for "BABY, HOLD YOUR HAND" next week.

I didn't think a Renji vs Uryu fight would be as good as the Ichigo fight, if not better. I like to imagine Uryu hasn't forgotten the first time he and Renji fought, even after everything.

Incredible episode. Given how Uryu and Renji both got huge power ups in the last arc, I had always wanted to see them fight in the manga. The anime's really been a treat for Bleach fans

Imagine living in a time where quality series like Bleach and Arcane air back to back on the same day and they both deliver peak fiction, unreal. Yet another amazing anime original episode, fight was majestic and did wonders for both Uryu and Renji as characters as well as fighters.

It's a bit weird they changed Bazz-B vs Jugram and instead we're getting "BABY, HOLD YOUR HAND" next, although I'm not complaining, it's easily one of the best fights in Bleach as a whole.

Next week is Act 3 of Arcane and Mayuri's fight, I already can't wait for it to be Saturday again, even got a week-off vacation in preparation lol. It's gonna be so sad waiting for Cour 4 after seeing how much they've improved on this one in comparison to the manga.

Once again bleach is showing why it's a top tier shounen. Renji was always that character that hook me into bleach. I always remember that fight with ichigo where he shallowed his pride and begged ichigo to save rukia. Seeing him now getting some love when we usually see him under powered, is great to see.

This episode was awesome! It truly got my blood pumping with everything finally rolling into action and some action being taken! Not forgetting some sassiness~!

I must admit I chuckled when Mayuri and Nemu took their own private elevator, that wasn't that private. The fact Mayuri was ready to do some unthinkable things while no one would be looking (all for the name of science!) just to get caught by Kenpachi. xD It was hilarious how Mayuri had all but a mini-heart attack when Kenpachi strolled through his private elevator all sassily. Also, as a side note, it was kind of cute how despite Kenpachi appearing all rough and such, he diligently dried his hands when using the toilet like a good boy he is! Luckily Mayuri stayed behind, just so he wasn't left out of action. Along with his posse. The fact they dragged Hanataro along with them was a bit odd, but I suppose just like with the main shinigami group they knew a healer is a must in a battle.

Unfortunately, the main shinigami group's healers went down almost right away... Which made me think, uh, kido anyone? Like anyone? I feel like after a certain point Bleach threw into a trash can any "lesser" kido spells and now those are exclusive material to some OP people like Aizen. Which...isn't true. When Lille Barro started to shoot his shots, I get it when Hisagi went at first down it took everybody by surprise, but after that? It just felt like creators and animators were "oh no, we allowed too many characters to enter Wahr Welt, gotta weed them out." As manga readers know, there will be a few main battles that are mostly solo ones. But even so...it felt a bit odd. Of course, one could say they (not captain-level shinigami or Rukia and Renji who were trained by Ichibe) couldn't create any kido spells to protect themselves because Wahr Welt is the Quincies' turf, but even so...

Anyway, Renji vs. Uryuu Ishida was marvelous! Those who are anime-only watchers might not know this, but this fight wasn't shown in the manga. (Not to mention several other scenes in this episode, but a bit later on about that.) It was very joyful to see Renji using his real Bankai against Uryuu. It truly felt like Renji's hardworking training underneath Ichibe paid off! Not to mention, what's so bad just using brute force? Especially when Uryuu wasn't that different in the end. Or, at least I couldn't see any epic strategy behind his attacks, except from the 'I've few aces in my sleeve' and in the end, they're stronger than their opponent. Renji put up an excellent fight but sadly lost in the end to Uryuu. I'm not sure if it was about strength, but maybe because he hesitated as Uryuu guessed? Hard to write. But did anyone notice, once again, that we're going with parallels with this all? This fight ultimately made me think of Renji vs. Byakuya. The fact Renji showcased his true Bankai with pride, using his brute force and his opponent taunting him because of that? And the end 'the reason why you lost' speech? Yeah, reminded me awfully lot of from Renji's battle against Byakuya. Unlike Byakuya, it seems like Uryuu shattered Renji's reiryoku center. Which basically would render him useless, unlike in Byakuya's case Byakuya only shattered Renji's pride... Let's hope that isn't the case because then Renji would become a big burden to everybody and his career as a Gotei 13 member would end. I'm just waiting for someone to pop up in the next episode and help him!

Grimmjow deciding to join Ichigo's group, just to deviate from that was funny. His whole chase against Askin Nakk Le Vaar was something that didn't happen in the manga, but I'm glad it did happen in the anime! He truly showed his panther side and the fact he transformed his hands into his claws? So cool! However, it was a bit dirty for Askin to use his poison ball against Grimmjow. I mean, cat instincts seemed to be strong in Grimmjow...

As a side note, it was interesting when Ichigo's group was heading toward Yhwach they were on the street level while both Nelliel and Grimmjow used rooftops to move along. I'm not sure if their animal part played in that or if it was a tactical move as the higher you're, the better you can see, hence, Grimmjow spotted Askin first.

If we go to the beginning of the episode when Yhwach sends his Quincies to fight against the Shinigami and Ichigo's group, I couldn't help but wonder why Yhwach didn't use Uryuu's full name? It just felt odd. I would have understood if the others didn't have last names, but some of them had, so it felt odd. Also, the whole sending them off was very cool, but somehow comical? I don't know, it felt like a big baddie move where the Big Bad sends his henchmen to fight against the heroes, or in this case, maybe the analogy of King sending his most elite knights to fight evil demons would be more suitable? It depends on whose side one is and who we view as bad guys and good guys.

Gerald Valkyrie shouting he is ready to face all shinigami was funny. The fact that Bazz-B, Liltotto, and Giselle went on their own way, just for Giselle to call out they're back home was also funny. And I've to ask...did Jugram have a gigantic mirror TV he used to watch everything unravel while Yhwach was on a nap? I'm not sure if it's day or night in Warh Welt, but because Jugram is Yhwach's 'night' and if Yhwach decided to take a nap during the day...he would need a mirror TV just to see what's going on during actual night he would have Almighty. Unless there really isn't night and day during Warh Welt? Or it's both at the same time? Or when Yhwach adsorbed the whole Soul King Jugram can't really anymore use Almight? But yeah, it seemed like he had a huge mirror TV.

Ichigo: Let's run and fight them together.
Grimjow and a Quincy: *played tag together*
🤣🤣🤣

Epic series with Uryu's new power.
But Renji's new bankai is kinda not that cool, but his skills were cool.
Since the others have also trained with the zero squad, I'd also like to see the others' new bankais—especially Rukia's!!!

P.S. Bringing along weak shinigamis just to be fodder to the sniper... lol?!

I can't wait for the supporting characters to have their own scenes.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Hey, I'm saddened by all the cheesy reviews and comments about the action and animation everywhere. Everyone is too simple-minded or too stupid. Sure, this episode was well-moved and had a lot of action, but that's not where it should be. What I want to praise the most is the opening scene before the opening credits, which didn't have any amazing animation, just above average 3D animation. But the flow from that scene to the title was just perfect and a GOAT scene, and the combination of the OST playing behind it was also GOAT. And then the pressure of the scene where Yuha calls the Royal Guard from there was a shock to my life that I've never experienced before. The best thing about this episode is not the animation or action in the second half, but the extraordinary direction of the opening scene by Pierrot, which Kubo is the general director of. But if you want to see animation and action, there are plenty of other works that can be copied, like JJK and Mob 100. But the fact is that it's just a mundane thing that anyone can make if they have an animator and a budget. These works are 100% animated, but 0% directing from my point of view. The directing that moved me in this episode is something that no amount of budget could make, it only takes one genius to make this. This is just a guess, but I think it was Kubo who made the title appear this time, he has a particular love for pentagrams and we all know he's GOAT when it comes to art. This episode was the first time I've ever been captivated by such a cinematic feel in a regular late-night TV anime.11/10

That was a good way to have the fight with Renji without wrecking his new Bankai but showing all the cool stuff it can do.

God bless Pierrot for giving us quality episodes week after week. This fight wasn't in the manga, but they managed to make an absolute wonder of an episode. I say that even if Renji lost he still looked awesome. In the manga we don't see his Bankai after the fight with Mask de Masculine, so seeing it with all that power and even versatility was very cool. Uryu is an absolute monster tho, that technique at the end was way too broken.

The scenes of Grimmjow/Askin and Kenpachi/Mayuri were hilarious. Added some needed moments of levity in an otherwise action heavy episode. And god damn those scenes of Lille Barro sniping the Shinigami were cold.

The thing that weirds me out is that

@dahayama Good post. As great as the animation was, everything else was greater (even in the fight, I believe the choreography was most impressive). The biggest winners of this episode were the direction and art. This episode was especially rich in artistry and cinematography, and part of that is simply owed to Kubo's philosophy as a writer and the aesthetic nature of Bleach. For example—and one user here actually noted this earlier—the ED visuals for this episode were reversed, which is thematically resonant to Uryu's character and by extension his schrift. Manga fans will catch this foreshadowing—this anime is essentially a gift to them with how often it does subtle things like this.

Any standard, soulless anislop can suddenly have state-of-the-art animation with the right animators and budget, but it will never be able to replicate the creative soul of the aformentioned because those traits are conceptual thus they run on a deeper level to a piece of work. Since they aren't as layman, the finer details tend to get overlooked/missed for surface level components of an anime like "sakuga" and whatnot (especially by social media normies).

Bruh, this ep had better animation than the Ichigo vs Yhwach fight which everyone, for some reason unknown to me, overly praised xD I hope the animation level stays that way.

As we know, huge holes in the chest are nothing for characters in this anime, so I'm not worried about anyone for now.

Yes, I'm glad you understand. Of course, I understand that the animation and choreography are an effort to keep us viewers interested, and that's true (I also liked the overall action of this episode so much that it was in the top three of TYBW). But more than that, I was very impressed with the way this episode was introduced. It reminded me of how important a factor production is in anime works. I also realized that it's more important to show great production in the introduction to keep the excitement going afterwards than to show it at the end of the episode. This episode became special for me, it's really unbelievable, I wonder who on earth put together that thrilling OST at that timing.

Grimmjow's chase against Askin was funny, based Askin to immediately run and bargain with the enemy for a truce lol.

Always love to see Kenpachi and Mayuri interactions shits so funny with the contrasting personalities and how they constantly "joke" about killing one another, maybe right besides Kenpachi and Byakuya.
Kenpachi's reason for also missing the first train and following Mayuri cus he was busy in the shitter was funny, also him yoinking Yamada who just wanted to use the bathroom and not be dragged into the final boss dungeon was great.

Holy FUCK was the Renji vs Uryu fight good. Two past allies now fighting to the death is always interesting character wise, Uryu pointing out at the end that he could feel Renji's hesitation to kill him and probably got it from Ichigo was actually a nice show of Renji's character, i also had the impression their time in the hueco mundo arc was just a platonic "joint force" team since they were stuck in a life and death situation together, and they're dynamic was simply "friend of a friend" but knowing Renji still had restraint against killing Uryu even at this point in the story made me respect him more as a character tbh.
The fight itself was insane, camera work, animation, choreography was peak, both sides were pulling out all their trump cards. Loved that Renji actually get's more then one ability with his true bankai and i actually love how we got to see them lol, shit was insanely flashy, but also liked how Renji managed to push Uryu into using more of his own tech as well.

Reversed Ending theme was also an eye catcher, not a clue what it could symbolise or hint too yet but i'm excited to find out later.

The Uryu vs Renji fight was well done, with both of them showcasing their new abilities, which can only be found in this anime adaptation only. Sadly Renji had to lose for the plot. The interaction between Grimmjow and Askin was funny, with the latter having the luxury to drink coffee and running like Joseph Joestar (JoJo reference maybe?). Lastly, I noticed that the visuals of the ED theme were shown in reverse order and I feel it might allude to something (Uryu's Schrift?). Next episode will surely be interesting, based on Mayuri reciting the poem and the next episode's title.

Don't get me wrong, i've been fan of Bleach for 15+ year but basically every TYBW Bleach fight just goes like this:

-Character A start doing some crazy combo on B, B has a surprised Pikachu face during the combo
-Character A finishes the combo with a big explosion, thinks he won
-Character B either appears behind A back or just get up and basically say "you thought this was all what i got?", A does a surprised Pikachu face
-Character B start his revenge combo on A, A keeps the surprised Pikachu face
-Character B finishes the combo with a big final explosion, thinks he won
-Character A either appears behind B back or just get up and basically say "you also thought this was all what i got?", B surprised Pikachu face
-Character A starts his revenge combo with a big final explosion, B with a surprised Pikachu face, but this time A wons

And don't forget, during the fight characters would be constantly shit talking about how they're more powerful than the other. I wish Kubo could write something different in fights (and i know this is a original but Kubo is heavily involved with the anime), but i guess, put some good animation on it and no one even notices lol

It seems only Haschwalth is the only one left who is still wary about Uryu, always keeping tabs and watching him like a hawk. Kind of silly to me how Kubo expects the reader to believe that all the soul reapers think Uryu has betrayed them all cause "he's a quincy and they're soul reapers", like the history between Uryu and everyone didn't count for anything. I suppose Uryu is playing his part well, because this reason would be ever worse if Uryu's betrayal were to be real lol, but not even a little bit of suspicion from Ichigo and the team? Unless I've forgotten past developments...
