@Su_mi_ko It's jealousy that causes the brainwashing. Now I don't hate Liz but I am frustrated with how most of the main characters are written. Like for example I don't like how Duke immediately fell in love with Alicia so quickly or how he can be so indifferent with Liz, heck I don't even like how they make Liz this such pure but extremely naive persona and Alicia where she keeps acting like a villain but doesn't do a single evil thing. It's weird and like the author don't know what they're role is
@RedChrome yeah true )

Liz is being very annoying duh, I was tolerate her in past episodes, but not now. Glad to see Duke stands up for Ali though. Also, the shirtless scene.........

what a great episode. I absolutely love how Alicia is able to be herself and make a great villainess at the sale time without loving sigh of her values. Liz is just so stupid I'm asking myself how they can consider her a Saint. who in their right mind tells someone to not defend themselfs!? Anyway Alicia and Duke's dynamic is so cute can't wait to see more!!!

I really wonder if this training is going to end up destroying her left eye, given how she wears an eyepatch in OP. Odin-like?

At this point it feels like the Saint is actually using magic to alter everyone's perception of her. Only once an outside factor (usually Alicia) is able to make a person realise how utterly brainrotten the Saint is does it stop working.
Very surprised by the Prince actually taking a reasonable stance in all this. It's crazy that the Saint binds Alicia even when a guy with a knife is about to stab her. Why did she not release Alicia's bind, why did she not bind the assailant, why does she not even acknowledge at all that she almost got Alicia killed? Only reasonable answer is that she's just playing an act and is in reality a wicked person, actively using magic intentionally to get everyone to worship her.

Alicia is a badass with or without magic.
Liz is a very annoying heroine, I like how Duke stood up to her like that.
Alicia is falling for Duke even though it's not supposed to happen in the story.
Not surprised she wants to get stronger, things are changing compared to the original game.

I have ADD, ADHD & AUTISM, but this won't stop me. Let's keep having fun together.

The scene where Alicia was being a badass was much more believable here than in a similar show called “Last Boss Queen”, there’s a line where it goes from being cool to really dumb looking, but I think Alicia passed the cool test, those guys she was up against may have been dumbasses but she handled them thoroughly without even using magic. It’s just unfortunate for Alicia that her cool moment was put on pause when Liz straight up paused her lol, I know in that situation it would be hard to tell who the victim is but it was still a pretty dumb move by Liz, and then she proceeded to yap about faith and whatnot after that, which was met with Duke’s ice cold fury which I loved to see, that right there is how you stand up for your babe.

And then there was the scene with Duke with his shirt off in the bed with Alicia, funny and cute scene but yeah I can’t fault anyone for not being into it, I didn’t mind it personally and I like the relationship Alicia and Duke have, but yeah it looks a bit sus lol. And it was here Duke’s feelings for Alicia were more than confirmed, Alicia is still in denial but Gill I knows it and we all know it, now it’s just waiting for them to get together. And at the end of the episode Alicia had her watcher privileges taken from her, and by extension her going to the academy, well she wasn’t happy with that one bit so now she’s off to become a level 90 mage, it’ll be interesting seeing how she makes it happen.

Of course the Duke had to ruin his badass action by getting undressed in bed with an underaged girl. He's been grooming her since she was a toddler at this point. That weirded me out more than Liz being delusional and blind (Alicia had once again turned the blade).
EDIT: Duplicates removed. Thanks for finally fixing the site MAL, though it seems "there was an error and your post was not submitted" was a bit misleading.
@maraviax I cite the precedent set by Rudeus Greyrat: This girl, when she died and was reincarnated was between the age range of 14-25 (the targeted age demographic for otome games), add that to the 7 years she was when her memories came back to her, and she is now much older than the prince. Also, as an avid fan of the game, she has more than enough personal information to, in fact, groom the prince, which by her own admission, was her target boy when she played said game. As with the Greyrat case, there is a predator here, it is once again the MC, and that poor boy has been a victim since he was 12!

Unless the translation I was reading was wildly modified, the anime deviates GREATLY from the light novel. In the version I read, she uses lethal force and offers NO mercy. Duke also is far more protective of her and uses lethal force as well.

I audibly gasped when Duke lost it on the Saint, that was so freaking cool! I loved seeing him stand up to her stupidity. Speaking of that, she seemed to reach peak stupidity this episode. Yeah, Alicia would've died because of you, girly. You're not going to stop a sharp weapon from falling with naive words. And the fact that Alicia's brother defended that stupid reasoning definitely confirms that suspicious feeling I have that the Saint girl has some kind of magic or power keeping her yes-men under her influence (though I think this is unknowingly on her part).

They really downplayed how Alicia was kidnapped. owo
But Liz's character is much more downplayed, like her character is not even realistic (she's not real and a fictional character at that but you know what I'm talking about, adaptation just went brrr) in this story so far.

=====
@Kiramay From what I can see from the DB, they're making it PG-13, so the censoring is probably here and there already. (Not that I know what I'm talking about)
=====

Edit: added an image.
P.S. Yes, don't become immoral, dear Alicia.

Her innocent, pure self is all I need.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

This show was starting to grow on me a bit but this episode had so many stupid little things at the start that had me groaning internally. I seriously hate Liz. She acts like a joke character but the writing doesn't play around that at all. "Alicia, I know you and your retainer boy were kidnapped and tied and beaten up in a shed by a band of ruffians but you mustn't attack them in retaliation!" This show feels like an accidental parody of itself. Zero self-awareness. All the guys are so "on liz's side no matter what" that I truly believe there's going to be some kind of mind control plotline revelation later on, because that's seriously how everyone acts. It'll be the only way to redeem it.
Also, I really like how ice prince dude gets shanked and he just pulls the knife out and tosses it away without any hint of pain at all.

I hate Liz so much. She needs to get her head out of her ass saying shit like that. Who chastises someone for defending themselves, that’s idiotic. I'm happy to see the Prince defending Alicia and taking a stand against Liz’a bullshit. Whatever control she's exerting on her followers is beyond dangerous. One of them just tried to have Alicia killed because of her. That’s unforgivable and he’s lucky the prince only beat his ass to a pulp. Here’s hoping Alicia can back at Liz for her trespasses. Someone needs to put that crazy bitch in her place.

Finally Duke did something that wasn't just drooling over Alicia like an idiot. Though it still was because it's Alicia lol guess I'm just glad he turned off that annoying arrogant attitude for a while and did what I wish I could do to Liz. but alas, the feeling didn't last long and he was nearly naked on her bed and I hate him again.

Back to Ms. Saintess, she sure is making it obvious that she probably has some mind control power and is either really stupid or has some other motives. I wonder if they'll pull a "I'm a reincarnation too and I'm trying to get the story back on track"

Considering her ditzy over-idealistic personality, it was still within acceptable stupidity for Liz to preach her idealism when she arrived on the scene. But when she saw Alicia almost die and still tried to make Alicia the bad guy, I've become almost certain that she is the true villain and is somehow brainwashing the guys. Otherwise I can't imagine Alicia's brother being such an idiot in his response and how he changed from being worried to ignorant so quickly. Her final comment about Alicia and Duke was also waaaay too fishy.

I'm partly suspicious that "Liz" might actually also be a reincarnate like Alicia with past life memories, which might be why she's trying to make Alicia the villain and herself the center of attention at all cost.

Either way, that confrontation scene had me feeling more annoyed than I've been in awhile. Duke stepping in and giving Liz a piece of his mind when he did REALLY felt good lol.

At least I'm glad the saint is not just harmless and brainless character. That would make things too easy for Alicia. Now Alicia will witness how dangerous a blind faith can cause, it's very hard to convince people that refuse to see the truth.

But honestly the shirtless prince is the highlight of this episode.
@phantomfandom At the start I was a bit annoyed at Alicia for picking fights with the heroine for seemingly no reason, but now... well, Liz is either incurably stupid or just an evil manipulator.

@Matt0384 Yes, the reincarnation age loophole is loved by mangaka almost as much as the "you're actually secretly adopted, so you're not blood related" one. And both are used to rationalize some pretty questionable behaviors being played out vicariously on the page/screen.

@CrazyButNot4U Okay get rid of the violence but keep the part where the older guy is shirtless in bed with her 😭
Makes sense they're easing up for the rating though. Either that or they couldn't stand the idea of an MC who is violent.

That smile from Liz has made me suspicious of her. I'm starting to think she's not an idealistic moron, but the actual villain of this story. Spouting her love all nonsense while letting her "friends" act like assholes, and now almost getting Alicia killed. They gotta neuter this little shit before she gets another shot at Alicia.

yeh no, liz is definitely using some kinda magic that no one knows of probably, who in their right mind would have thought the situation was okay if Alicia got murdered for trying to speak to her assailant
and if they really honestly thought alicia is in the wrong for defending herself, they need a reality check and a big back hand against their faces until they fly across and break a wall from the impact, what a buncha infuriating guys, don't know if I hate these guys or the Akuyaku circlejerk more

possibly perhaps considering this whole series takes place in a video game with scripted events and a linear path and whatnot, it's definitely similar to Hamefura in which many changes effects the future
but perhaps liz had ended up becoming programmed to be as delusional as she is because in every similar story, there always needs to be the good and the bad and this would be the way of turning liz into the antagonist of this changed up plotline
considering alicia is originally isekai'd, kinda wonder if it's similar to Akulas where the same thing happens with the equivalent of liz there

@maraviax Welcome to Anime; Enjoy your stay. Back in my day, we'd just say "Japan is fucking weird." and move on with enjoying the show. All I'm saying is that if Rudeus is a degenerate pervert, Alicia must be as well. Or else, why the double standard?

So Liz is above 80 and Alicia had to reach 90. Anyway, this episode had made Liz really unlikeable. She's the villain either through naivete or perhaps a reincarnated being as some have theorised. (There's such framing when she had a close up of her chin.)

This episode is the turning point for this one. It foreshadows that the roles are reversed between Liz and Ali and how they'll end up. There were hints about it in the first ep as well. Typical reincarnation villainess plot. At least it's entertaining.

I actually like this show. I am kinda curious if anyone else saw it. For a slight moment Liz looked envious of Alicia for having Duke's attention.
@Moppit That smirk and the glowing eyes from the garden tea party kinda makes me feel that she's consciously controlling other people's thoughts

inb4 they come out with a redemption-ish arc for Liz stating that the mind controlling power emits subconsciously, and she just took advantage of it to spread her delusional/overly idealistic ideals. Then they're probably give her some sad-ish reasoning for her actions by saying that she never experienced true love and/or friendship thanks to the mind controlling powers

The thing is, Liz's "violence is always wrong, you shouldn't kill anyone no matter what" attitude IS actually that of a fairly common hero type character. You see anime MCs who refuse to kill even to defend themselves and other in shows constantly, and many posters defend those MCs when it's pointed out how naive that attitude is.

One of the key themes here seems to be to expose how ridiculous goody-two-shoes tropes are by showing viewers how much they suddenly dislike them when they are imposed ON our MC, rather than imposed BY the MC.

@Matt0384 You're right regarding Alicia and the mental-age loophole. That doesn't change that the Prince is ALSO a pervert because he A) thinks Alicia is an actual child and is very much still into her and B) puts an unconscious and non-consenting girl into his bed and gets in undressed. Even Henry and Gill comment on this.

I guess they're made for each other. It's like a pedo paradox.

Nah, what the actual fuck Liz?

Crazy that Albert asked if Liz was okay before even checking on Alicia. As soon as he became worried about Alicia, Liz mentions the fact that she was going to stab a bad guy. Then the brother says he wouldn't fight against someone who was going to kill a family member. What a joke.

Thankfully the prince came to save the day. Thank god he stood up for Alicia numerous times. Liz is now jealous of Alicia and Duke.

Duke is so fine ahhh so this time Henri does approve of one of his friends dating Alicia ;)

I'm at least glad there's ONE person in this anime with a brain, Duke. All these other dudes can't get Liz's dick out they fucking mouth ffs. Have no idea what that whole thing with the level 90 is but whatever will get Liz out of my fucking face.

at this point, the majority of us (it looks like) have a huge dislike for liz. i want to choose violence on her "innocent" face and her shitty naive ideals for the last couple of episodes. like bitch, alicia not only got kidnapped, she got attacked, then nearly killed and needed to defend herself. let's not forget that gil also got kidnapped, hurt, and his life was threatened. thank fuck for the duke and henri for being on alicia's side. liz is definitely full of sus in her last scene of the episode.

Another really good episode, there happened so much. It’s so cute seeing Alicia and Duke grow closer together, especially when he said he wanted to follow his own destiny. Definitely made me grow my respect for him.
I am curious if Alicia will be able to reach level 90 with magic next episode, knowing her she won’t give up before she reached that anyways
Also I thought Alicia looked real fierce in this episode fighting those bad guys.

Liz is wild for this entire kidnapping "rescue attempt" she tried to pull. She's such a living contradiction and now I can't be too sure if this off script scenario is causing it, or maybe her naivety is just too high.

Alicia's dad sure does have some valid concerns about no longer wanting her to be enemy number 1. Too bad he underestimates the extraordinary capabilities of his daughter, and how much she loves being a villainess.
