Yup, even Alicia herself is surprised that the Duke is interested in her. Kinda interesting since in the original game/timeline, it didn't seem that way.

Alicia also seems like the type of girl who isn't afraid to take any risks. Even going undercover and infiltrating the school. That takes guts.

I guess I was unobservant, but I hadn't realized just how much of an age gap there was between Alicia and the boys. I think it's like what, 5 - 6 years. I thought it was more like 2 or 3 years.

The scene with Gil showed the true potential she has, but she does need to be able to keep her composure a bit better around the others, lest she start to dip into the realm of being a Bakarina.

hmm seems like they were really concerned because of the possibility of losing control of your magic. and alicia was really close to trying level 25 dark magic despite being able to only do level 10 stuff...

We finally get introduced to Liz the heroine/saint! Like most of these otome game adaptations she and Alicia are intrinsically linked and destined to become friends even if Alicia don’t necessarily want it. Liz trying her best to sweeten up Alicia was funny as hell, but I can’t get over Alicia outing herself for no reason lmao. Like did she not know you weren’t supposed to be able to use magic at that age?! She did all that magic study, but I guess she forgot to do some history of the kingdom 😂

I was a little worried the king might try to have her killed after we learned the story about people losing control of their magic.. but looks like he’s just gonna be observing for now.

“She’s a bit strange, but she’s a good girl at heart” lmaooo that whole interaction with Gill was great. I get she was trying to get him to have the will to live and to recruit him but it turned out so silly from the outside. She might want to be a villainess, but purifying the village’s water supply and saving homeless kids is the least villainess thing ever.

So we finally have timeskip Alicia, but even with that I can’t get over how weird the age gap is with Duke, especially cause bro had a thing for her when she was like 7 too. Even at 13, her brother and his group are still like 5-6 years older than her

@Stark700 NOT A DUKE, The Prince. Duke is his Name. Yeah, they should have done that better.
Well, we already knew she was a prodigy, this Episode just drove that point home.

Every one of this otome game heroines will eventually get infatuated with the villainess rather than hating them. Atleast Alicia still trying to make it a rivalry and she didn't use status insult which is a good attitude. The way she handled Jill was amusing. She is playing the anti heroine role well so far. Story is not special but Alicia is reason to stick around. She is fun to watch. With a timeskip I hope something happens plot wise, like a inciting a rebellion/WAR which they keep teasing.

Good animation but bad adaptation... 😖😖😖
Could've been better.

Anyway, it really feels unnatural watching the characters in this series, in a bad way.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

That's quite the change in appearance for only three years.

The age gap is rather strange. Usually in these sorts of stories the villainess is typically the same age or a little older than the heroine, but here it's considerably the reverse.

So, they apparently made her look ~16 after the time skip to make you forget she's actually 5 years younger than the prince/heroine. I typically don't expect logic in these types of shows, but somehow the original (otome) villainess got into the academy at a young age, but Alicia was supposedly granted entry for her extraordinary talent, which is only the result of honing her skills from a young age, having prior knowledge to everything going on, which would not have applied to the game version. The age gap being a whole 5 years is just bizarre and unnecessary in general, I've never heard of such a thing in this cliché type of academy plotline.
If you reply back to me and I never respond, I lost interest and don't care. Sorry about that.

Alicia is still doing a great job of being a horrible villainess, glad to see she is still accidentally being a good person. As alot of other have pointed out the age difference between the characters feels kinda weird, and not just when talking about love interest, i really expected the heroine and Alicia to be the same age. It feel so unnatural for Alicia to be so much younger than every other part of the cast, being bullied by a kid 5-6 years younger than you doesn't have the same impact you know.
I don't really care for the romance in this one, so i'm still enjoying Alicia just doing loads of dumb stuff

I guess magic kinda works like muscles or stamina does, nothing stopping you from going to a higher level than your body can handle, you just end up destroying yourself

The time skip is annoying. I know they needed to get Alicia to the Academy, but in the meantime, the other characters have aged from 15 to 18 and all been together. I'm sure their relationships have remained conveniently static in the intervening 3 years so a more grown-up Alicia can just pick up right where she left off.

Alicia's answer to how to conquer the neighboring country is the first actually villainous thing she's done the entire anime so far. Maybe there is hope for her after all.

I get a kick out of how whenever she says she's a villainess everyone just laughs because she's so obviously a good person.

Kinda funny how the heroine found Alicia instead of the the other way around.
All this talk about Divergent's and stuff was interesting.
They way Alicia spoke to Gill was very villainess like, either way she got his support.
Looking forward to the next episode to see what magic academy life will be like.

I have ADD, ADHD & AUTISM, but this won't stop me. Let's keep having fun together.

The not-so-evil villainess had her first encounters with the heroine Liz. Liz is a very cheerful and positive person, but I feel that could change, especially with the news that her mana has gone out of control.

Alicia has made significant progress and is considered a divergent due to her premature mastery of magic; already at 13 years old, she has a magic level of 80. I wonder what level the others and the heroine are at?

I have a question regarding Alicia's military strategic knowledge. Does she know a lot about it from the game’s knowledge or from her past life before reincarnating? Maybe this point is more detailed in the VN.

Don't know why you're limiting it to academy plotlines, but if you step back from that, there's plenty of examples. The age gap in A Bride's Story must be just as appalling, right? 12yo boy, 20yo woman... that can't fly, can it?

So, how was she supposed to be the heroine’s 'rival' if the heroine would already be 20 and probably close to graduating from the academy by the time Alicia enrolled? Also cleaning dirty items and cleaning water is surely a weird way to level-up you dark magic.

It was fun to see Alicia meet her antagonist. Especially since Liz is such a fluffy optimist. it'll be fun to see the heroine trying to befriend her while Alicia works to brush her off.
And I just have this feeling that, even with good intentions, Liz Cather is going to make trouble down the road.
Finally, welcome aboard Gil. Buckle up kiddo.

Liz is giving off villainess vibes with how overly friendly she is. I won't be surprised if she ends up someone being reincarnated into the game too & is doing her best to manipulate the outcome to her advantage. Now Alicia is tasked as guardian to the Saint lol

Just like someone else mentioned....I also found it weird when realized the age gap between her and the heroine/"routes"

Makes me question the "OG game"....if Liz was the heroine then in the game timeline wouldn't there have been 3+ years where the heroine lacks an antagonist during the academy since OG Alicia doesn't enroll till much later?
It doesn't bother me much with the dudes but it's so weird that such a huge age gap is present with Liz & Alicia...

That's a messed up game (if it was real) and seems like a huge unexplained plot hole...MAYBE it doesn't matter as much for this anime I GUESS... but that seems like a careless detail the source material did not think thoroughly about.

Putting that aside. Oh man I need to see more Gill, I'm way more interested in him/his character development than Duke (who's obviously very interested in Alicia day 1)

(My avatar is an original creation-please don't take it)

What kind of awful otome game hides the heroine and doesn't even say her name? This "heroine" feels too much like a side character.

And since when do you use dark magic to clean things? Is she just using light magic but calling it dark? That would make sense for her...

They just had to fit in Rieri in somehow in this anime too lol, giving her the shota role. She really do be in all anime these days.

The heroine of the game seems like a nice girl but kind of bland. Alicia is much more interesting with her characterstics. We finally got the timeskip with her joining the magic academy, been waiting for this. Also she already reached lvl 80, OP. Like how she remembered the kiss rather than the usual forgetting trope but it didn't matter after that.

the heroine with her expressions looks like a sociopath.. she's creepy!
also always having positive reaction for everything .. is not natural at all.

edit: what i hate about this show the most .. is the comments i keep reading about the "age difference" bullshit.
you are watching a show about a girl living in the medieval times, where arranged marriages were very common, and having kids and newborns instantly pre-engaged was the political norm.
so having older men showing interest in potential wives or concubines, is nothing weird, also this is NOT the states, nor the united nations.
this is a fictional world, so spare me your swine rigidness to enforce specific age gate keeping on everything!
the world doesn't run on the cursed god forsaken "18" humans are born under normal biological clocks, in which age they mature, in what environment the mature, and in which nation they mature, it doesn't matter!
i SPIT at the LUNACY of enforcing a "one age fits all" JOKE of a rule! "18" is a made up JOKE! "the whole world enforces it" .. i'm glad i'm living in a clown world then! also NO! the planet doesn't enforce it!
this is a fictional otome game, it's FICTION! it doesn't exist!
people getting so much triggered over a kid with the mind of an adult who is capturing the attention of everyone around her.. BIG DEAL!
if you don't like this content, go watch something else!

i'm here to watch what kind of magic the main character will develop, and how will she become the most infamous villainess in the history. whoever she gets along with, is none of my business, can't stand the STUPID "romance bullshit comedy TURD" BIG DEAL! get over it!
the show is for its preferred audience, can't stand it? it's not for you then! end of the CURSED story!

People really are hung up on this age gap thing huh, I can see it being kinda odd that she would even be a love rival as far behind she is from the main characters of the game, but we don’t really know how the game’s plot plays out exactly so it could have worked there somehow, for me tho I just don’t really care lol, it hasn’t impacted the show much yet besides the fact she was discovered as “divergent” for being able to use magic so young, and now she’s allowed in the academy so the age limit isn’t relevant anymore, yeah they could have just made her older to begin with and avoided all of this but I have enjoyed seeing her wow folks as a kiddo lol, but I suppose it’s an understandable thing to have a problem with. The other thing some are mentioning is how Alicia looks older than 13 after that time skip, yeah I can agree but it is just an anime art style after all, that and irl kids can just shoot up like that in just a few years, you don’t see someone for that long and it’s like they’re completely different lol, so I don’t really have an issue with how she looks older here.

And Alicia came in contact with the heroine of the game, being Liz, and she’s super friendly to the point Alicia had to try and be mean to maintain her role as a villainess, only each effort backfired, yeah that seems about right lol, I like that Alicia has little versions of her in her head too, kinda reminds me of the council of Katarinas in “My Next Life as a Villainess”. And then later Liz tried to play villainess when trying to help that Gill kid in the village, and while what she said sounded pretty cold, she ended up coming off as a good kid but just a bit of a weirdo lol, yeah I don’t think Alicia is going to be convincing many that she’s a villainess at this rate, but I do really like the unique aspect that she’s trying to find ways to do things like a villainess as opposed to purposely getting close with the good guys to avoid certain doom.

What a beautifully animated EP, I bet you they're using the latest tech known to man for some scenes, namely Macromedia Flash.... (If you're too young to know what that is, that just tells you how old the tech is). Liz wants to hold Ali's hand, animator draws the background and Ali's hand in one layer, and Liz hand in another layer. They move several frames ahead, and place Liz's hands on top of Ali's hand in the layer below. Left click + motion tween. Magic!!!!

In case you haven't figured it out yet, the paragraphs above are sarcasm. The point is, the animation looks so bad, my boomer self even remember my middle school days playing around with flash animation back in the day. Still not as bad as Skelter Heaven tho, but they might actually be learning from the best (again, if you didn't notice, a sarcasm).
Python is the best programming language ever. FIGHT ME!

@IzanaSolos It's an otome game, so it's either self-insert or named heroine. In this case, it's self-insert and I guess the game doesn't have any spin-off materials.

That's the weirdest part about the magic system.
My guess is that the first 25 or 50 levels are universal magic that any elemental could do, and levels 51 to 100 are specialization magic based on the element.

I re-read the manga and I wonder why they chose a weird place to end the episode.

Also, since Alicia is 13 now then Duke and supposedly Liz are 18 which is pretty funny that the supposedly heroine is antagonized by someone 5 years younger than her.

Now that we're entering the heroine vs villainess arc I hope the animation or at least the pacing is gonna be better.

Well, based on this episode, we can guess that with such cleaning skills, she’ll definitely become the most infamous villainess to every maid and housekeeper in the country by depriving them of their jobs. Not sure about the rest of humanity though.

Welp, the anime was almost "ended" at episode 3, LOOOL

Where Alicia didn't hear the whole thing and thought they were talking about the heroine (which they're talking about Alicia)

Almost got MIB'd

.

BTW...

I just noticed... but the 13 year olds in this Isekai... looks a lot older than they are in our world. In our world, people would think they're age 15 or 16, LOL.

This includes the "Duke" guy when he was 15 and able to easily princess carry a age 10 Alicia. (and how much taller he is, I though the dude was age 18 or something... before the time skip)
