Oh silly Taiyo, always seemingly getting caught with weird people in this show like it's a common trend. He should get used to it though.

Meanwhile, the episode gave him and Mutsumi a date and time to enjoy themselves. However, it wasn't just all fun and games after all. At least they got to spend some time on that date. On the other hand, I'm glad Mutsumi and Taiyo gets closer every episode.

Taiyo being interrogated by police officer Seiji Hotokeyama of the Yozakura Family's top-secret missions that have been circulating on the dark web, he's more than just an ordinary cop...and this just one of the tests from Kyoichiro, being his close friend. Even in school, Kyoichiro never stops training Taiyo, conversing in Morse code, and making the entire class a battleground between big brother and husband. The rivalry never stops.

Even romantically, it's considered spy work, and Hotokeyama has a mission for him at the same amusement park with the famed couple ferris wheel. Mutsumi joins him since this is a couple's work finding a couple with a gun...and the shenanigans of Taiyo suffering with similar looking bad people, they're just normal people with normal circumstances...and with that one lovey-dovey couple...who ends up being the assassin couple in question with custom-made guns of their own and causing a ruckus with their lovers' spat.

In the end, Taiyo still being able to give Mutsumi a rose, that's his dedication, in romantic terms, to her. Good for him.

I didn't think he'd be a real detective, that's for sure.

Taiyo gets taken by a man claiming to be a detective named Seiji Hotokeyama. A video of Taiyo fighting an enemy is circulating on the dark web for some reason. Hotokeyama suspects Taiyo is linked to a secret organization behind the scenes, as it's unlikely one person could cause so much trouble alone. Despite this, Hotokeyama struggles to uncover any info about Taiyo's associates. Taiyo faces harsh interrogation tactics. Additionally, Hotokeyama hints at Mutsumi's involvement and threatens her, but Taiyo senses something off.

The detective who beats up drug dealers with a hammer but doesn't kill them is less crazy than Kyoichiro... sureeeee. These guys have some funny bets going on. Ya know, more than anything, I wish we could see more of Taiyo's life at school and as a spy. We've seen so much spy stuff, but hardly any school stuff. Also, a nice little date this episode. The ending was cute. I wonder how Kyoichiro will react to the fact that they need to get closer for the sake of the bloodline.

Who's the mysterious pink-haired person at the end? Guess we'll find out in the PoPoPPo Arc.

If I was Taiyou I would have been a bit suspicious about the footage. Surely Shion would have scrubbed every trace of his and Shinzou's appearance at that place.

Really wonder what the students were thinking while they were having that Morse code conversation.

Speaking of Morse code, I wonder how it is in Japanese and if it is ever accurately used in stuff like this.

Work life balance seems to be on another level being a spy. Glad they got to enjoy a bit more of their date. Would've been messed up if it ended up being Kengo disguised as Mutsumi.

Nothing was as obvious as the fact that this most "normal" couple is evil xD It's a bit stupid that some suspicious guy approaches MC at night and the first thing he does is end the phone conversation with the person who could save him in case of danger, I know it's a stupid comedy but still XD The episode about the date, the development of the relationship is typical but even pleasant.

A fun episode today.

It's been a long day for Taiyo and Mutsumi who are carrying out this mission. And once again Taiyo is reliable on missions, good job from him.

And also Taiyo and Mutsumi's relationship is maintained and increasingly romantic. Very cute couple.

Kinda wish they woulda made that couple mystery less obvious but hey at least the school scene was kinda amusing + Ferris wheel scene was wholesome.

Someone mentioned two chapters got squeezed into 10 mins which if true is kinda wild ngl, guess I’ll be reading to source material soon

@jpexists Yeah, they rushed through the interrogation (chapter 9) and cut so much shit from the classroom chapter (chapter 12) they managed to squeeze all of it into 10 minutes. Fucking ridiculous. But the romance part was elevated more, so Mutsumi x Taiyo fans are eating good. I really recommend to read the manga, it's so much better.

I was surprised that Taiyo was suddenly attacked by a policeman, but fortunately the policeman was an ally of the Yozakura family.

Then, a very sweet ending❤️

@ame-furi anything sounds bad when you say it like that. Instead of looking at it on a surface level you have to think how it actually worked in the anime, which was very well. This is the pacing early Yozakura needs.

@Scarred_Hero15 Nah, I like the fun stuff early Yozakura has. But in the anime they're obviously gonna cut that stuff or rush through it and focus more on Taiyo and Mutsumi's relationship instead, at least for now. And since I never was into this ship that much, I guess this adaptation isn't going to be for me. They skip so much fun and engaging stuff that made me fell in love with the manga, and the parts they don't cut aren't even half as funny or engaging as they are in the manga, no matter how much the VAs are trying to make them so. But most people are enjoying it so good for them, I'm one of the few who are disappointed and on the verge of dropping it lol.

Even if they cramped 2 story in half a episode the pacing is still fine. The main stroy was obviously the later part which was done quite well. The ending was brilliant

They have 27 episodes, they skipping quite a significant amount of moments. Why did it have to be Silver Link adapting this 😭. I thought stuff from Shieusha usually get better treatment than this.

This show is such a vibe the mc is great and has a great dynamic with the female mc, The side characters are fun and quirky. This show isn't anything too special for me but I'm not calling it bad in any way. It's just that kind of show you sit down and vibe with.

I liked the development between Taiyo and Mutsumi this episode, For a married couple I hope we get more moments between them.

I thought this would go 1 of 3 ways

the first was simple, they'd do a normal adaptation and cover the first 60 chapters (first 7 arcs)

or second they'd go the full action route and skip most of the comedy chapters and cover the first 103 chapters making it a pure battle shonen and resolving the first major story arc.

But we're getting the third, a weird combined mishmash of chapters randomly plucked from the manga and sliced together.

it's still a fun show but Taiyo has now been on 2 missions when his first mission was supposed to be a major event, if they do cover the flower bin arc (Chapters 5-8) now it just wont be the same because he has experience now so its been robbed of its weight and importance.

@Cestlavie_ I keep asking the same question, "why did it have to be Silver Link?" I knew they're gonna rearrange some stuff, but I never thought they're gonna rush through or just straight up cut so many moments. They might as well just cut everything from the story except cute Mutsumi x Taiyo moments, cause everything else feels lame and pointless. It's so slow but rushed at the same time, boring and unfunny compared to the manga. I'm putting it on hold and gonna wait for the 2nd half of the season, maybe it will be better. Copium is a hell of a drug lol.

The interrogation was a sham, thank heavens.

The whole urban legend Ferris wheel at sunset thing is something I totally would have wanted to do as a teenager. Actually even now come to think of it.

All the "fake"/real couples were cute.
* the overly loving one
* The punk couple (OMG that was insanely adorable)
* The muscle couple (Centrifugal force can't keep us apart)
* The suit couple lady pushing up her glasses saying "yes"

Everyone kind of knew it was the pink overly loving couple that had the gun, right? They were almost crazy to be honest.

So the mysterious guy from the previous episode turned out to be an ally of the Yozakura. Kyouichirou is getting more annoying with his obsession with Mutsumi, but at least it seems that the training he gives to Taiyou is bearing fruit; Taiyou can even go on missions alone now.

It's nice to see Mutsumi and Taiyou finally on a date and watch them develop their feelings for each other.

The first time they showed the creepy over the top couple in the matching pink, I knew they were the ones with the guns 🤣
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

The latest episode of Mission: Yozakura Family had some predictable punchlines in its major storylines, but its charm and cuteness make up for it. Despite the easy jokes, the show's characters, especially Taiyo and Mutsumi, shine through. The classroom scene with Taiyo and Kyochiro's Morse code gag is amusing, and the amusement park date is endearing, showing Taiyo's genuine efforts to be a good partner. Overall, watching Taiyo and Mutsumi's relationship grow is the highlight of the series for me.

Okay, didn't expect a couple of things happening in this episode, but it was hilariously fun to watch. Turns out the guy I mentioned before wasn't a threat but another test for Taiyou to overcome. Mr. Hotokeyama in more of the intel guy for the Yozakura's, which is cool to have him help out the family hide any spy activities from the public. This being both a mission and date for Taiyou and Mutsumi was a rollercoaster of ups and downs for your boy, but thank goodness he secured it in the end. W for Taiyou, he's starting to get good at this now.

SENCES THAT I FOUND FUNNY:

1. When Taiyou was being integrated by Mr. Hotokeyama and he gave him a "glass of water" to drink, I questioned how the heck a balloon came out of Taiyou's mouth, but it was clever for him to not swallow whatever he's given with like... that made me laugh like how he do that? but like any magic trick, a magician never reveals his secrets.

2. I knew once seeing Kyouichirou entering the classroom and being Taiyou's teacher, it wasn't going to go well. This man couldn't let Taiyou sleep for not even a second and is already out to kill this man for sleeping in his class. The Morse code conversation is such a spy thing to do. Between the three of them (Taiyou, Mutsumi, and Kyouichirou) was clever and funny to me. If I was a outsider classmate now knowing what was going on, I'll be like "how many times is the teacher going to keep clicking the chalk on the chalk board like that?" I be considered lol.

3. Lastly, the "lovely" couple with the pink shirts. I started laughing when I realized later that Taiyou was suppose to find the couple that were the main targets and it just happen to be them ofc. They both put out there guns for no reason whatsoever and started firing at nothing really lol. They must be bipolar if they were either in good or bad terms with each, but regardless, it was funny to see them go at it.

Overall an enjoyable episode indeed, more characters are slowly coming in and more missions too see Taiyou take on next, his actual family would be proud of him.
