was pretty disappointed with progression. Only minor changes, like two characters kissing in the end and some supports getting closer too. Other than that, just some zombie shoot-out and fodder new characters dying. Animation was done great though.

Skippable movie.

End scene had me like O_o Indian movie?

Loved the animation and fight scenes! I Love Ikoma and Mumei together! In this kind of setting who cares if she's 12. As long as they're happy. When she raised her arm was she gunna hit him lol and was he licking her arm i couldnt tell wth he was doing. Hope they dub this and either make another movie or season.

Decent movie with great action scenes as always. There was nice development with the two main characters and man, that kiss at the end sure surprised me. At first, I thought it was just going to be on the cheeks but she just went straight for his lips.

I love how it has romance in it but MAL is dumb and can't tag genres correctly. ive probably missed out on a lot of good romance anime just b/c of that.

Anyways, loved the movie/3 eps. glad it somewhat continued from where it left off. action was top notch and so were the graphics. so happy it was able to put some romance into it but not enough to take away from the actual storyline. such a cute sneaky kiss at the end! cant wait for season 2 if there is one

Very Good this film, production 10/10, a pity not to have a concrete end, but ends the arc in a satisfactory way, I hope it has continued to conclude the story. My rating 8/10

I was expecting more information about Kabane's origins and history, but it only focused on a battle on Unato. So, that's that.

Beautiful art and animation, as expected from Wit Studio. Fluid af in some parts.

Mumei with dat moves amirite?

I still wanted to see about the origins of Kabane. 8/10

Good Movie with Stunning Production Values but fairly average Storyline/Plot!

Father/Daughter bit dearly missed some more screen-time and substance to it, to be frankly honest. I couldn’t help but sigh in disappointment to the exposition of the ‘big’ revelations. I would’ve preferred to see this Part 3 getting a bit more time, say up to the 40th mark or so, in all honesty. No new soundtrack for this Movie (except for the final glorious EGOIST piece) is a little disheartening too. But got to say, that EGOIST piece in the end was fantabulous! And the dance choreographies plus the scenery shots were stunning, props to Wit Studio for showing off their talents here! Battle Sequences and the Action Choreographies mostly from Mumei’s badassery were the real treat of this show and it’s always a pleasure to witness them, and this time it was certainly taken to the next level with even more mesmerising animation quality! Mumei and Ikoma’s relationship was handled quite good throughout this movie too and that’s always pleasing to see! Moreover, those Romance teases in the end between the back muscle-girl x Sukari, Ayame x Kurusu and Mumei x Ikoma were amazing treats to have! A nice little throwback to Takumi too and good to know a bit more about the Kabane from Ikoma’s POV (I wonder how much of this is valid though).

Overall, a Solid 7.25/10! A slight increase from the tv series (6.5/10).
Hoping to see more from this franchise!

The movie didn't feel like a real sequel and it felt like they ended it in there
I'm a little disappointed if that's all

Tho the Movie brought me back a lot of memories and it was to watch , however , I feel like it was too short , but better than nothing

Didn't feel like the overall plot advanced really. The movie almost felt self contained. The only thing that felt like it advanced for the most part is Mumei's and Ikoma's relationship. Still overall, it was enjoyable to watch at least to pass time.

Holy shit, this was actually very good!

A little bit to short, but with WIT level of GOD animation + great OST + a harbor of ships at the end and that bonus dance as the "ending"!

I hope that WIT will make a proper S2 before SnK Final saison next year.

cold blooded killer Mumei is SO much better than damsel-in-distress Mumei unlike the TV show...but damn does she always get significantly nerfed during big battles

eh...the story was a 6 because our two MCs gotten annoyingly dumber, the big antagonists were pretty much pushovers (one of them literally), and not enough Yukina's back-muscles service...at least the big idiots got their well-deserved comeuppance
the pretty visuals and the end song with the awesome dance sequence were an 8/9
so overall 7/10

This movie had me all up in my feelings. Lord Kageyuki was protecting his daughter, so it was hard for me to think of him as a total villain.

The ending credits were fun to watch.

I had my doubts at the start of the movie after that dreaded second half of the original show that still had me feeling salty over the wasted potential whenever I remember it and the assholes from the Alliance and the awkwardness of Ikoma and Mumei's interactions didn't help but I was thankfully proven wrong when the action really started~

The movie was great and even if it wasn't perfect, this captured what the show should've been like throughout its entirety. The backgrounds were gorgeous, the music was godly, the action was awesome, and seeing the main characters kick Kabane ass once again was great. Hell, I even derived more emotional value from the villain (who isn't really one) and his daughter than I did with shitty Biba despite their very minimal screen time.

The end where the three ships of the Iron Fortress sailed was cute and that dance ending is one of the very few dance endings I can get behind. It's nice to see that my last memory of this series would finally be a pleasant one.

Im watching this on netflix where its split into 3 episodes for some reason and wtf is that animation quality. This is supposed to be a movie and it looks worse than the show from 2016. Some shots are pretty nice but others look super cheap.

Not that I dislike Mumei being called Mumei but a pretty huge part of the finale was that she actually has a name and mumei was the name her brother gave her. And its not even really a name.
So why do they still call her Mumei?

It was a weird watch overall. Even not thinking about the plot too much its weird. It jumps between good and not really all the time.
Like Mumei being badass in the beginning, good. Another round of "cant trust the kabaneri" and yeah Ayame doing shit about it, bad. More stuff about the Kabane than we saw before, good. Absolutely necessary shady human factions, bad. The whole castle thing was a mixed bag. Apparently villain dude controlled Kabane by playing blood paintball though the movie hinted at there being more than that also somehow he doesnt get attacked by Kabane like other kabaneri, bad. Mumei and Ikoma werent affected before but now they are because plot, bad. Annoying speech about Kabane just being angry bois, bad. (Though that might be bad netflix subs) Mumei being princess to save, bad thought I guess thats kinda in character.

Atleast we got a nice dance in the end I guess.

I actually liked the series so I hope we will get more of this stuff in the future.

You know, I'm surprised that this series don't seem as popular considering it has many selling points. It's got the waifu, soundtrack, art, concept, story and animation done so well, and yet you get generic harem shows getting more attention. Truly sad.

I don’t know why I found it divided in three parts, but its like I watched three more episodes of the anime, with opening and everything. I gladly say that it was much better than expected, I had some issues with Mumei and Ikoma changing roles, for a bit it felt like Mumei was a damsel in danger, but then she has these badass scenes destroying kabanes and fighting with the villain. I don’t remember the characters being this charismatic, I absolutely loved them, especially Mumei, she’s a cute girl and the funny scene trying to give Ikoma the stone and kissing him in the end. The story was good, I was kinda disoriented watching all that metal cables or webs, but I’m not sure what they’re made of, because kabanes are like zombies and don’t create such things, I liked the story of the main villain and how he felt about losing her daughter through something that could’ve been avoided, which made his resentment grow, the essence of kabanes, as Ikoma remembered. The animation was pure and excellent, super movements, fluid, explosions, steampunk, bullets, even the village’s landscapes are great. I’m impressed by how good the movie was, that it actually developed characters and could be stated as relevant for the story, despite it doesn’t declare a closed end. I wish this could be included as episodes 14, 15 and 16. The story isn’t over yet.

I guess this was an improvement in a way from the TV series. Probably because it's not 12 episodes, which means there's fewer flaws.

Kurusu is tamer now.

All the ships has sailed. Poor Kajika, though.

Heh, I found it funny how they can still dance while the Kabanes are still running amok.

I thought the movie overall was pretty good, Mumei and Ikoma's relationship is quite nasty though considering the age gap.

The dance at the end was wonderful, along with the amazingly animated action scenes, and a villain that felt more believable than Biba.

That scene with blue snow and everything around it blossoming into wonderful plants... may Kageyuki-sama and Miyuki rest in peace now through love and forgiveness.

Mumei is great once again, entwining her own thread of necessity in Ikoma's presence even if the times are troubled.

Soundtrack is fucking amazing too.

Quite a lovely sequel movie, especially after watching the movie recaps and getting back up to date with the main highlights I can say that this movie seamlessly connected to the story it is quite great.

Loved the whole story as it felt really the same with just that additional extra sprinkles on top and of course the best ending the fa's could hope for.

So all in all a great movie I'd say!

What a beautiful movie, I don't know why but that kiss made me smile more than any kiss in anime has before.

Ikoma is the typical oblivious teenage guy who probably doesn't think a girl as beautiful as Mumei would be interested.

Mumei having her first crush and being so nervous all the time is cute.

I'd like to see this develop in a second season some day, thanks again Wit.

I don't remember much about the series but I checked and saw that I gave it a 6. But I enjoyed this more cause I'm thinking it's a solid 6 again lol. Probably because it's a movie and it's short that it didn't have enough time to piss me off. Visuals are good though and animation is awesomene as expected from a movie. Ikoma's voice though especially when he's yelling, it's annoying as fuck. It sounda throaty or something. And why tf did Netflix divide this into 3 episodes?

Wow, I was really surprised. This was a really great movie, I really enjoyed it, seems kind of underrated at the moment, I hope more people give a chance. I watched the movie version and not the 3 parts, I think it's better without interruptions. Story was okay, the emotional scenes were great, animation was superb and the ending dance was awesome. Really made up for the second part of the TV series which wasted a lot of potential; the funny thing is that I think the recap movies remedy this a bit because the pacing is faster. Here's hoping for a second season!

This movie was a little better than the main series. Decent animation, improved fight execution and a lot of character developments, especially to Ikoma and Mumei.

That last part though, didn't expect it that Mumei will give that to Ikuma

From the series 8/10 rate. I'm gonna improve this to 9/10. Really hoping to get this a new season since their journey or their fight is far from over and I'm super curious of what will be the ending be like. Definitely a good watch :)

The movie was action packed but was less surrounded with the zombies and the main boss fight as a whole, yes looking at the runtime I do understand what happened, but again I felt it was rushed. I mean, do not get me wrong, the fights had a good amount of work put in them. Mumei had a different fighting style this time, she went all out in a stylish way. The story was quite understandable and believable, so I give points to that. I felt like Ikoma was quite OP, as usual and the fact that humans don’t put any of their trust into the Kabaneri is sad to see. Fear is the excuse. Voice acting and animation was good. I had a lot of fun seeing the whole crew back in action and I am very glad that they did not kill off any of the Iron Fortress members, because then that would just be sad. Mumei got along with Ikoma and well, we know whats gonna happen next. Lucky Ikoma. And Kurusu blushed around thrice during the runtime and Ayame kept teasing him. LOL. Another good zombie series. It’s a 7/10. I would recommend people to watch it.

Finally got around to watching this and while the plot was still very iffy, I ended up liking it way more than the original series. Lots of really good fight scenes, fast pace, lots of quality Mumei screentime. Yea all the random soldiers are still acting like complete idiots and constantly antagonizing the only people in this world who actually know how to fight but due to the lower runtime of this movie, there's just less of that to pile on top of each other lessening the enjoyment.

The romance could have been handled a little better (Ikoma was acting like a dick at the start) but overall I'm still largely satisfied. That kiss at the end was just adorable <3
While this wasn't the best movie ever, it was still very enjoyable and great for what it is. 8/10

This movie was basically an extension of the show. No grand finale, just a self contained arc. And that's fine. Wit definitely left room for more sequels, although who knows if they'll return to this.

Same quality as the TV show. Not much of an improvement in terms of writing. The animation was slick as always. I wish we got more Yukina's glorious muscles though. 6/10.
