True its secretive, but it really doesn't seem that louis cares. I also assumed that since she's not liked by other rabbits, she's probably sleeping with a couple other animals. I thought that Louis was the only one she liked out of them all, or something along those lines.

Louis not caring that he's having a sexual relationship with Haru or that he doesn't care whether the relationship stays secret or becomes public? Yea, he doesn't mind spending time with Haru romantically, but in the long run he doesn't want their relationship to last because he is engaged to his own kind and he doesn't love her the way that Legosi does.

Haru sleeping with other animals is no secret either; it's been mentioned several times, including the first episode when she meets Legosi in the garden club room. Louis is the one she cares about genuinely. Her sleeping with other animals doesn't mean she loves them - they are just her means of escape. Louis is one of the few animals who understands her and vice versa.

Ahhhhh my boy Legosi and that big heart of his :( It's a shame that they didn't animate the scene between Louis and Bill from the manga.. could imagine how good it would have been animated + the impact - damn. Hopefully they can fit that in somehow in a future episode. Also it's a bit late but wow the seiyuus really match with each character huh. I'm actual so happy.

Solid catch mate.

Also, the gun shown in the manga just looks out of place in this world.

It's a shame "that" scene of Louis and Bill wasn't included on this episode. It would have given Juno's scene much more depth and seriousness than it already had.

Also, that "being eaten by you might not be so bad, you know" bit

After Haru's name confusion, things could have prosperous to the Jungoshi ship, but no...

Also, according to my hypothesis, they should have played "Sleeping Instinct" this time, as this episode was as tense as the previous one.

When Juno first appeared she seemed to be weak hearted or something. She was really affected by those bullies, but I guess she was just having a bad day because it can't be pleasant to start your new school life like that. But she is strong! She seems to draw people, and in a different way from Louis-senpai too. She is going to try and defeat him for the "Beastar" title as well. I didn't see that scene with her dominating him like that coming at all! Louis-senpai seems to have had a traumatic experience too, and he was reminded of it when Bill scratched him. He and Legoshi are kind of in bad terms over Haru too. And talking about her, she really is a good girl, and I love the dynamic so far between her and Legoshi. It manages to be funny, awkward, and even heartfelt at the same time.

He also almost told her that he was the one who attacked her on that night, but he couldn't bring himself to do it because she mentioned it first. Well, they are getting closer in a way or another for sure, but Louis-senpai was still the one who Haru was hoping would come to save her during that blackout. What is understandable since they met way before she met Legoshi, but I'm sure it still hurt him. And I guess Juno felt hurt too when she saw Legoshi with Haru like that. But I do wonder if she really likes him already, or if he is another, let's say, "prize" she is striving for. Time will tell, and it seems that she is going to get closer to Louis-senpai too. I mean, she declared war. xD

A male red deer weighs nearly 3 times what a female grey wolf does. Yet I'm supposed to believe a red deer can't overpower a grey wolf? Yeah no this is beyond dumb.

The writer should've actually researched the animals. That way we wouldn't have this backwards view that herbivores are completely defenseless against carnivores. It's anything but accurate.
Otherwise this society makes no sense. Why did they coexist if carnivores are that superior? The truth is because they aren't. There are many herbivores who could put up a fighting chance. Some herbivores like an adult elephant are practically untouchable.

I like the characters, and its an interesting concept, but the world building is plain terrible. If a female grey wolf despite weighing a third of what a red deer does can overpower a red deer this society makes no sense.

I'm sorry, but are you dumb? In the anime you can clearly see that they both share a similar body type. Plus, in the position that they we're in(on the floor), even a normal person would have a hard time resisting. And another thing, in the show so far every animal that was killed was easy pray, no elephant or other large herbivore has been attacked or killed.

The anime is drawing from real life biology but trying to portray it in a fictional animal world. Yet for reasons which make no sense it portrays the complicated relationship between carnivore and herbivore into a simplified black and white view. A red deer weighs over 400lb. Far from a small mammal. A grey wolf weighs around 80lb. Yet somehow we're supposed to believe that a grey wolf is nearly the same size as a red deer? How dumb do you have to be to not see it makes no sense to give a grey wolf a similar body type to a red deer?

So how did this world come about then? If a grey wolf is nearly the same size as a red deer why did this society form when carnivores are far more superior? It makes no sense why carnivores would allow themselves into such a society where their desires and instinct are blocked.

So, don't be a perisher. It doesn't matter how much wolves and deer weigh in our world. Animals in Beastars are not actual animals, they are creatures with human carcass and human arms and legs. They were made like this intentionally, looking approximately equal in size to look more human.
You ask how did this society come about? I guess carnivores were suppressed by force. Weapons exist in this world. Guns, too. Probably there was some war before

In this world, louis is 53kg, juno is 51kg. And its rude to ask a girl about her weight. Lol.

World building in this world is done in subtle ways or with chapters dedicated to them which is something that will be touched upon as time goes on. Asking how this world came about is pretty much saying lets skip all the 150+ chapters of the manga.

Also, they are not taking real life biology, cuz then louis should have hooves and not hands and feet. They are taking traits, characteristics and sometimes, physical attributes.

Another fantastic episode. I usually dislike love triangles... well, "love chain" at this point, but I find this one rather interesting to watch for some reason. This said, let's see how this whole situation unfolds.

On the other hand, Juno acting cute sure is nice but seeing her confident/ambitious side is way better. Glad she will have more characterization rather than remaining as the usual one-dimensional love rival.

not only that, your body weight isn't proportional to your strength. Plus, you will see later on that BEASTARS isn't depicting herbivores as all defenseless. There will be characters, villains even, later on who're herbivores and can easily KO a carnivore. It's all about physical training. Remember this is an anthropomorphic world. Gym exists.

So now that I actually has the time to watch it to give some of my impressions.

First off, the music is still an incredible factor to the characterization of each important scenes, specially the one in the metro in this case. Haru really had to put the harsh truth of her own reality there in plain sight ! She's feable, fragile and she might as well be labeled as one of the weakest animal of the whole herbivore catalog.
Legosi can't empathize with her point view since he's the top predator, no fear of death in his case. Although the resolution is quite sweet when you understand that Haru cares for Lego still ... Just not as a love interest which kinda link to the end where she calls out for Louis ...

In this case, we can see big OOF time for both Legosi and Juno since they're not getting their due back. One sided-love, beautiful thing indeed.
Also, glad that Juno finally revealed her ambitious side of hers, makes up for a better character trait than just cute 🐺. .. This will definitely bite her later though

Indeed another great episode.

Oh yeah, they omitted a peculiar scene but that's to be talked another time.

Hadn't had a chance to reply, the point I'm getting at is this world makes no sense. It having its own rules is the exact problem. It doesn't justify the world, it makes it that much bizarre.

If we relied on them taking from real life biology this world could make sense. Because a red deer could kill a wolf, a large herbivore could compete with a large carnivore.
Instead we have something completely bizarre. An eagle for reasons unknown is gigantic, a deer is smaller than a wolf, and a carnivore being able to easily rip off a herbivores arm on accident because they're just that much superior. The last one makes no sense you can't even do that in real life.
In this world carnivores subject themselves to being second class citizens, there is no reason why they shouldn't revolt. It makes no sense why they ever agreed to this world. Yeah they have guns but given the sheer difference is physical ability between both groups the carnivores would always have an advantage and as such its doubtful they'd even lose the war. I mean, this is the exact same world that tells us a carnivore can rip a herbivore's arm if they aren't too careful. By that logic herbivores would have to genocide them otherwise its impossible to restrain them.

One thing that really struck me was later on in the manga when a carnivore goes berserk and people call for a large carnivore to restrain him. Because apparently, its impossible for a large herbivore to do the same. That line really struck me as to how nonsensical this world is. Its hard to take the story seriously when the world makes no sense.

Well, Juno got way more spunk than it seemed at first, I like that.

The intensity and sense of danger during the blackout were captured brilliantly. The fact that the stakes during that scene felt genuine helped too. Must've been terrifying for the herbivores.

And damn, what a punch in the face for Legosi(Juno too)

Also, the light came back conveniently when Haru thought Legosi was Louis lol.

I was very surprised by Juno. I did not her coming out like that with Louis, but I'm glad she did. She's more than an cutesy love struck teenager and there'll be some "bite" to her later. I like that.

Legoshi is such a protector type. When that lights went off he instantly sheltered his herbivore mates and then went after Haru.

guess we got a little insight in the thoughts of Haru and im curious to hear more though going by with what we got it seems shes just trying to fully enjoy life since she never knows when she will die being a rabbit which doesn't seem to bad of a reason. Wow juno has a bit of an crazy edge to her. If anything she has more in common wit loui. holy shit what an awkward moment at the end.

Man what a great episode, Lious and his secret.. Hmm I wonder what it is o.O But damn funny as hell how haru mistook legosi as someone else xD and lowkey love Juno's reaction to Seeing those two together in the end.

Behold of my awesomeness~

Now Juno just enterred the room full of drama. Such ashame for Louis, manipulate Juno to seeing the sweet scenery between Legosi and Haru. The hatred truly can not be avoided until all problem got solved. Yeah, the drama was real, babe! Everything gonna be complex for all of them. All of them just had their own goals. How can they fix that tangled thread?
