Unlike most of MAL users, I use all 10 scores to rate anime. That means my scores may be very different from others.
My mean score is not low. It's literally above average.
I enjoyed each show I finished, no matter the score.
My 6 means "good" and my 4 and 5 mean "average".
I arrange all shows in 4 categories: Bad, Average, Good, Great. This makes it easy to score and helps to be more objective. Thus, within each category I have just two scores to decide on when scoring an anime.
Here's how it looks like:
GREAT.
10. Personal choice.
9. Perfect.
8. Great. Not perfect and has some small flaws, but it doesn't matter since the show is still brilliant.
GOOD.
7. Very good. May be not revolutionary or over the head, but pretty solid and polished. I loved it.
6. Nice. May be not trying too hard and with some flaws here and there, but it's still pretty enjoyable and above average. I only give a 6 to a show I consider good.
AVERAGE.
5. Solid average. A show I respect.
4. Weak average. A show I don't respect. But it's not bad yet.
BAD.
3. Average bad. Probably still watchable and not too distressing yet.
2. Terrible. Exceptionally bad and has no positive traits at all.
1. Personal choice.

“Shonen” is a serialization of manga published in “Shonen jump” only 2 of my favorites were published in shonen jump, how exactly are my favorites shonen? Because something is primarily consumed by a demographic doesn’t make it a “Shonen”. Fate as explicitly published originally as an eroge which is 18+ content, there is literally no way fate was ever a shonen just because it has “shonen” elements.
