Nice episode. Sia is up there among my favorite cute kids along with Pino. For a bunch of slaves, the Half Section does a lot of good work.

I kind of feel as though this episode threw to much at me at once, and as a result I felt zero emotion at the end. I still also think this series has bad pacing btw, it moves far to fast and never seems to settle down. Also, the dialog between the parents and criminal was oh so cheesy.

For what it's worth, though, the three episodes before this were great.

It would be cool if Hachirota really did get his spaceship after a few years and that little girl comes back to be his pilot. I enjoyed this episode....but I was kinda looking forward to some more development of the main characters.

Am I the only one who found it disturbing the guy had a camera in his own underwear?? The "Fly me to the Moon" reminds me of

Also, did anyone else just laughed out loud when the director asked if he could swap the girl with the actress?

I should also point out you really can't create a "G-field" by rotating a ship.

I can't take this series serious so far. The whole 'Parents are in dept with some cruel guys and want to suicide WITH their doughter'-thing seemed so far off.

Ignoring physics does the series no good either. I'll stick with it since I bought the DVD bundle. But seriously. I've never seen such a miserable placed and played drama scene before. At least not in an anime...

Haha! I'm guessing it was just shortened for convenience, rather than saying 'generated a rotational force equivalent to and that simulates gravity'!

Thought this episode was hilarious. All the little characters you get when people watching on a trip. Plus, I'm liking Fee the more I see of her, she's a smoker after my own heart, and seeing her enjoying the smoking room was brilliant, with those fans and everything!

Woop!

This was some nice space drama. Really touching. I am glad they went with a happy end and not a tragic one.

Also,

Yea it was probably AV. Fee repeatedly said they won't get permission to film for the kind of movie they were making.

All's well that ends well.

So far this show seems pretty generic to me, dropped it for two months and came back and was instantly reminded why I didn't watch further. Feels like I've seen it all before and I find the dialogue cringeworthy and sometimes the characters are not very believeable. Hopefully I'll be more invested in the characters eventually.

I actually miss the ambience of Sidonia. Also the lighting. The contrast between dark and light are very distinguished. But I guess it's because this is a Slice-of-Life anime.

The part where the annoying girl found Hachi "molesting" the actress made me LAUGH. Other than that, no other highlights of the episode were found. I can't believe how fucking bland this shit is. It's rated high, so it HAS to get better. But getting there is a fucking pain, even if it's by Sunrise.

Basically my thoughts at the moment.

This episode seemed more like a comedy trying to mix in a serious thing happening and it just played out really weird.

Seems like the first episode's budget was a one-time thing.
Overall, bad episode. The kid didn't feel like a kid, the drama was handled like shit, with cheesy speeches in the most crucial situations, and felt very rushed (let's commit suicide -> we love our kid -> let's live).
I've heard people say that this is a real SoL series, different from the usual school comedies. It's the same thing, except for the fact that it's episodic and that the writing's cheesy and predictable.

I want to like this series, but this episode was so ridiculous. So, thanks to a thief accidentally stealing a family's suicide pills, the parent's plan to kill themselves and their daughter is foiled, and their appreciation for their daughter is renewed when the thief uses their daughter as his hostage after he's caught in footage that was being recorded for a movie...

From what I've seen by looking around some posts it apparently does but I'm debating if the grind is really worth it. Episodes so far have been either average or just plain annoying.

That spaceship looked like a giant flip-phone. Maybe it was..?

Seriously though, the coincidences in this one were funny. I even couldn't help laughing when they failed their suicide plan. How much a failure can you be when you can't even manage to suicide yourself correctly?

This episode covers three days of flight to the moon. Fee, Tanabe and Hachimaki will be taking a vacation there. They meet a family going to space to die? I didn't quite get that part. Maybe the parents want to die, to erase their debts, so that the daughter is enabled to live a normal life?

On a three-day trip to the moon many unexpected stuff happens: Hachimaki getting caught in a amateur video production, Tanabes wallet getting pick-pocketed, taking place in a lost-and-found search of a girl, a hostage situation.

As someone who read the manga before, I didn't recognize any of the plot of this episode. Either my memory is really lackluster or this episode was completely original content.

A fine episode with some side stories. For anyone who is thinking about dropping this series. Dont do it yet. It will get better and better, first 10 episodes are really building up story and some filler episodes but rest is better.

My episode score: 7.0/10

Average so far: 7.2/10

I am not sure. Why would an ending hostage scene be so important for a porno flick? Maybe just a violent amateur movie.

I found it kind of funny in a dark way that the thief accidentally saved Sia's life by stealing the suicide pills. I think the episode escalated way too quickly, almost like it was full-on dark comedy. The moment where the gang looks on the happy family and they don't even suspect that the couple was going to kill their own daughter... I honestly can't tell if that was supposed to be comedic or not.

Such a powerful episode! It was pretty dark too, but the conclusion was full of hope. We got to know a family who were down on their luck, they had lost everything they had, and they are/were in debt too, so they decided to take the 'easy' way out and commit suicide together, going as far as taking their daughter with them because she would be all alone, and prone to suffering otherwise.

But in this same spaceship there was a thief, another person who 'had' a future, but lost it along the way, falling into this life. We don't really get to know his circumstances because it doesn't matter here; he was there to make the parents realize that they shouldn't erase their daughter's future like that, when it's full of chances, when she could still make it. So they decided to start again, they found strength to go on because of their daughter, and this was really moving, and satisfying.
