I mean in one single day she did went from falling from the sky, unknowingly caught between a military crossfire with an extraterrestrial race, got cast away in space and then survive another 11 days alone with another guy she barely knew. I give her much credit for that. Uhmm, multiple personality disorder perhaps? Last episode she went from desiring to marry Hikaru to wanting to die together with him and then getting angry, accusing Hikaru of being a coward all in a span of few minutes! LOL Okay enough arm-chair psychological babble. |

| @ tofei Let's not forget that she was laughing and having a merry oh time merely minutes after the things you specified. And, honestly, she seemed kind of screwy from the very beginning. Remember her conversations with Hikaru about his Valkyrie. But, for some reason, I'm getting the feeling this is going somewhere. Anyway, a pretty good episode and man I hope they find a more effective way to handle the civilians I mean they aren't really going to destroy the town and people every time they get attacked are they? |

| "We're in deep space, so we need to be on food rationing ... except it'd be good for morale to open a restaurant, so let's pull those food sources out of our ass!" Maybe Minmei serves people her hopes and dreams at their Chinese restaurant? That was a badass transformation, reminded me of Tengen Toppa (except decades earlier of course), and it was interesting they showed the ramifications of transforming a huge starship full of people and transplanted terrain. The transformed super-robot fires a giant blast that wipes out all the bad guys and saves the day, but will there be rioting on the ship from the families of all the people that died in that little maneuver? 4/5 |
| Well, they said that during the previous war they were on food rations but could still run the restaurant because they were allowed extra rations. It seems plausible, though I can imagine some logistic difficulties. For one, the restaurant could only serve one ration's worth for each meal, and they'd have to keep records so they could show this to the rationers. I don't think it'd be as simple as just going and asking for permission, but definitely doable. |

| As to why they are allowed to open: morale. Plus it looks like the main clientele for the restaurant is the military, so the ration issue may not be as great (and it sounded like the menu was mostly ramen, so pretty basic food supplies would be all that was needed). As for Minmay's mental state, let's watch a few more episodes before rushing to judgement. |

| Yeah I don't really think it's a great idea to open a restaurant when food is so limited. Not until they have some sort of sustainable thing. I'd put survival over happiness in this situation. Wasn't expecting a bit of an argument to happen so suddenly between Hikaru and Minmay but right after they've made up and are all happy again. This anime is definitely getting more interesting but it sure does change gears quite suddenly. |

The Macross transformation caused more damage to the city than the aliens did, yet the bridge acknowledged it with little more than a "SORRY LOL WE DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'RE DOING" Never mind the civilians that possibly got sucked into space before the airlocks closed. Property damage is the real issue here apparently. xD I'm quite enjoying this show but I'm not expecting anything resembling psychological or sociological realism. |

| People wouldn't be so speculative about Minmay if the show hasn't blurted that line at the end of episode four. When people have sudden mood changes in most of show's no once say's a thing. She was probably putting up a front and being stressed out so the things she have said so far haven't been outrageous. |

I think he could have done better just fighting the aliens with the Valkyries. His hat falls off before he makes the order, and then he puts it back on right after. | I don't think Minmay really understands what rationing is, or what getting stuck at the edge of the fucking solar system with limited resources entails. Once again, the captain kills a whole bunch of people with his boneheaded decision making. Yeah, just hold onto something, people, while the giant ass ship moves and swings its several hundred meter long parts around. That should keep you nice and safe from the falling debris. And I don't blame Hikaru for being angry. One moment she tries to force him into committing a lovers suicide, but the very next moment when she learns that she isn't going to die after all, her personality does a complete 180, and later she even friend-zones him lol. The terrible dialogue in this show doesn't help in making her look sane either. Every time there's some conflict or drama between these two, it results in some of the most bizarre and incoherent interactions I've ever seen in anime. That's not how humans talk. |

| Minmay's stability aside, Hikaru kept on being ignorant with the announcements (or warnings) despite being a pilot. PA: Please hold onto something reachable... M: Transformation? What's that? H: Beats me. M&H: *proceeds to walk around open space and have drama like nothing happened* No wonder they almost die... all the time. |
