for some reason Dana Carvy's stand-up routine about the OJ trial came to mind during that "interrogation".

"What's DNA anyway? It's just 3 little letters. Probably stands for Did Not Attack."

anyway, good episode

Lmao.

This episode was much better than the first one. It was still in impossible shot though. Looks like the next episode will be about an M4, maybe M16.. it didn't look that short. We'll see.

Well, I actually dropped the series after the first episode. But I wanted to give it a second chance.
And luckily this episode was much better!
I really enjoyed it.

Definitely an improvement from the first episode. This episode was actually pretty interesting, and yeah, a good episode overall. I wonder if that detective will be in more episodes in the future.

I'm liking this show, its current score of a 6.83 on MAL is grossly inaccurate considering I know bout 20 shows that are much worse with scores in the 7.50s.
All the mods fucking blow on this website except Kaiserpingvin, Cloudy-Sky, Baman and aero. PM me if you're actually good and I left you out.

Oh, rule 8...

Hard to tell. It may even be a SIG Sauer.

Anyway, I don't know how legal that search was. (Need search warrant?).

Yeah, that's what I was saying all through the episode... I guess the NYPD in Japan doesn't concern itself with such formalities.
Sniper rifles seem to be more acceptable in Japanese New York dust chutes, too.

The series is getting better... it's doing all right for what it is, but it really has no potential. I mean, it's a series about a sharpshooting sex machine with zero personality and Rock Lee eyebrows. Just... no.

SEARCH WARRANT WHERE.

This episode was significantly improved over the first, though I did enjoy that one too. I'm sensing a trend of the better episodes revolving around the rest of everyone with Golgo more an incidental figure than him taking center stage. We'll see in the next episode.

If they can keep the formula fresh, 50 episodes might not be such a bad idea.

True. And good point, but I guess Golgo knew they wouldn't be able to prove anything so he just didn't give a shit. xD

Throwing the rifle down into the trash was kinda weird though.

It was all part of his plan probably. I mean who would expect a professional to:
Take a godlike shot and stay in the place longer than needed. And trow a gun down the trash

Seeing as how the cops were looking for a professional, it just wouldn't make sense to stuff like that, which is exactly why Golgo did it ^^

well the show takes place in new york, but dont forget that the show was written by a Japanese man, so of course new york isn't going to be 100% accurate

Onto the show, I'm really happy with how it came out, as a fan of the manga they kept the unique mood, which really sets G13 apart, looking forward to more.

I just finished watching it, It was a good episode overall. I was pretty surprised at the beginning of the episode where he screwed up and let the casing fall. I was thinking that they were going to start portraying him as having less than prefect skills, although the ending definately didn't reflect that.

The episode felt a bit different than the first one, almost feeling like half of an episode of law and order, but it seems as though it was mainly used to continue introducing the viewer to Golgo. Good stuff though.

Im glad too i didnt drop it after the first episode.

as a respons to other comments:
asking for a search warrant wouldnt be cool, wouldnt it?
and after getting a view through the scope of that rifle, i believed it was a godlike shot.

When I watched the preview for ep 2 I though Golgo 13 may be portrayed as an actual human being, making a mistake and all. However, as long as they don't focus on him this show may actually work, as Golgo 13 is way too flat and emotionless. However, what bothers me to no end is is his shooting technique.

Very cool. Although this being such a long show I'm hoping a story arch surfaces sometime soon. As much I enjoyed these two self contained episodes I can't help but yearn for a meatier plot. So far so good though.

He could have left a long time ago, but still stayed knowing that there were no way no one can pin this on him. This guy got mad skill and so his arrogance.

The guy never flinched an each. Cold blood as hell.
Anyway i found this episode a lot better. Time passed very fast while the first seemed long and dragged.

A thing that seems not very well thought though is the distance. 500m isn't really that impressive. I used to shoot with no scope from 300m and still get fine resolds. Sure there was wind(i ain't even calculating the sun because ether it's completely in your eyes making the shot impossible or you can shoot) but that can be calculated.
Now i ain't saying it's not an impressive shot. It is because he doesn't just shoot a guy but specifically shoots them between the eyes for a perfect kill but still i don't see how is really something a judge might think as completely impossible especially when you found the damn rifle in his trash and the case under his apartment still warm at the right time.

Btw anyone else got annoyed by trying to figure if that black guy actually had a mustache or not? It looked like some shadow above his lips or something. What a silly mustache, who the hell shaves like that?

Well we know the situations are impossible. So that said, having Golgo show nothing to the cop as he figured the whole thing out was brilliant.

What's funny about this episode is that every action Detective Sam made once he arrived at the apartment violates constitutional rights, such as the Fourth amendment. Before I continue, Sam did not violate anything by entering the room, as Tougou opened the door to him. Anyways, first big set-off was him going through Tougou's stuff without probable cause, continued by Sam conducting a search of the apartment. Sam then violates the Fifth Amendment by trying to keep Tougou from going to his flight even though he has no evidence it was him. After Tougou's false alibi was shown (sportsman with golf clubs), Sam was still adamant that Tougou did it (He did, but Sam had no proof).

Even if he was arrested, Tougou couldn't be convicted due to the Fifth Amendment.

Fourth Amendment as described by Congress:
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

The part of the Fifth Amendment referenced, from Cornell:
...the Fifth Amendment protects every person from incrimination by the use of evidence obtained through search or seizure made in violation of his rights under the Fourth Amendment.

And yes, while Tougou isn't a US citizen, the U.S. Constitution applies to all persons, including both documented immigrants and illegal aliens.

Worst cop ever, lol.

This show is absurdly good. This is the stuff, the ice clinking in the glass, the sun reflecting off a polished barrel, a man like a dog against the world.

This is Golgo 13, and this anime rocks.

2000s too, so random, people don't even mention it.
