Not going to lie, I like the city vibes this episode showed. Lots of opportunities for Mizuho Nishino to build relationships and improve her life. Seems they introduced the main guys so far and some of their personalities are shown. Noticed a lot of scenery and background shots that are focused making the overall setting feel more alive. This also seems more like one of the more serious romance shows this season, without much comedy. Guys like Shin and Kizuki stnads out so definitely keeping an eye on them. Mizuko also got a birthday surprise so that's some life development for her already. Gotta make important memories.... |

Only took five years, but Covid has finally made his anime appearance! Yeah, weird thing to implement here, but yeah, other than that, this is a reverse harem, though still pretty predictable. I’m betting she ends up with Kizuki. It’s one of those “harem but not really” situations, but honestly, I think all her childhood friends have fallen for her. Also, some guys need to realize that doing things like this and kissing someone without consent is sexual harassment. It’s whatever in anime, but if someone does that to you in real life, I give you full permission to beat them up. But off topic though, I kinda dig how this looks visually ngl. So, that's a plus, I guess..? |

Mangaka Haruka Mitsui's series from Kodansha's Nakayoshi arm targeting the Shoujo audience, this feels like a series that is very similar to author Ichigo Takano's Orange, if you get what I mean. Welp, INI's OP is really just that: a glorified K-Pop love song of sorts, typical. The story of Summer 2020's youth encapsulating on Mizuho "Mi-chan" Nishino and her Koikehama Highland "boyfriends" of 4 guys being long-time childhood friends that get each other's skin, they are the best of friends, seemingly so because of Mizuho's interest on swimming club Senpai Ryousuke Saito, which had his final year Inter-High retirement competition abruptly canceled (because of the "unknown" disease of COVID reasons) and was something that Mizuho had looked forward to but could not see for herself. It defintely was a birthday that she would come to hate for the rest of her life, and yet, there's Kizuki Hazawa seeing Mizuho as a girl, as the guys celebrate her birthday together, and the youngest of the guys making a move on her in secret. Out with the glasses and in with the contact lens for Mizuho, and to hear Kizuki just being blatant after she was shot down by Saito, as well as the other girls asking her to pass a bag of cookies to him, the youngest being the frailest of health. As compared to the influencer model of Airu Izumi, he's more observant of Mizuho taking care of Kizuki, who seems adamant to want to make her his girlfriend, even if all means sexually harassing her to get to what he wants for the long run. A story of youth and romance in COVID times, this feels superficial at best. |

Hopefully he will not scare or offend her too much or poison their future relationships. And some squeally fan girls "I can't even breath when we make eye contact" "They're so pure." Not really digging the animation, but liking the story and characters so far as they have developed. Likely it will be my favorite shoujo of the season. |

Before the season started I added this to my list not knowing it's a harem, that I don't like, my mistake. I can already see it being trash but I think it's destiny for me to watch this. The 4 male leads looking like cloned fuckboys is hilarious. I'm expecting some mediocre drama with tons of tropes and lots of fanservice (for girls) |

Okay, so i absolutely love dramatic romantic animes. And i love how this reverse harem is going, however i disliked the end scene. Firstly, those girls, even if side characters, poured their blood, sweat & tears into those homemade biscuits, only for it to just be dropped & ruined by the showering water? Moreover, what's bro doing, not just forcing himself on her, but stealing her first kiss while she's clearly denying any intention of being romantic with him? Didn't like that at all. Love the MC, but the biscuits could've been treated better, like even if bro didn't want 'em, MC could've just returned them to the girls as he asked. I might've forgiven Kizuki if he just forced her onto the wall & whispered something in her ear or something, as a bit of teasing, but actually stealing her first kiss while she's clearly stating she don't want that stuff? Loved the first episode, hated both Kizuki & the end-scene. Excited for more though. |

The first episode delivers a warm and engaging introduction to what looks like a promising romance. The characters are likable, and the story sets up their relationships in a way that feels genuine. It’s not particularly groundbreaking, but the pacing works well, and there’s enough emotional sincerity to keep you invested. Overall, it’s a charming start with the potential for more heartfelt moments down the line. I'm disappointed with the end scene however, no GUY should ever force himself on a girl when the girl tells you not to. ALSO GIVE MORE LOVE TO THE BISCUITS! |

the beginning seems a flashback, it seems. She has 4 childhood friends, but since they’re teenagers, the vibe has changed, and one of them has already confessed to her, but she didn’t know how to react. I don’t have anything against these shoujos as long as there isn’t a dumb story behind it, and this one seems pretty basic—it reminded me of Brothers Conflict. Let’s watch a few more episodes to see how this protagonist will act. at least one of the boys took the initiative because if we wait for Mizuho... |

@__andre__ i agree here again. and the more i think of it the worse i find it. i mean: i realise that the author wanted to make this kinda romantic, with the shower and so on.. but he overdid it a little with him really kissing her after she told him she has no interest. |

@Mari_Marx but is it a clever idea to show us directly in the beginning that the main girl will probably end up with non of them since she has another "sad" birthday and she seems unhappy with her life? doesnt kill that all the main drive to watch such a show? |

I gotta support every shoujo seasonal so I’ll stick it out, but ngl y’all this is ass ๐ญ. Way too wish fulfilment-y. Like how do you grow up in paradise with 4 hot dudes and somehow forget your adolescence? Premise not even making sense. It is fire to see an anime take place during COVID though and I love some drama. Not me thinking Miuzho was about to get isekai’d when she was standing in front of that traffic lmao. I was nervous as hell. But again, her not remembering being 17 and all the adventures she had with these guys makes no sense. What do you mean was your adolescence that sparkling?? Of course it was you grew up in paradise damn near with that scenery and the guys around you. This dude Kizuki is wayyyyy too pushy for me though. I get trying to be assertive and let a girl know how you feel, but it’s giving obsessiveness at this point. Being rude to his senpai when all he was doing was telling Kizuki about how Mizuho confessed to him, grabbing Mizuho and kissing her in the shower like cmon dawg boundaries. Mangaka might be into that sort of thing so fair enough but it’s weird to me. Mizuho is super pretty though, one of my fave designs this season so I’ll stick around for the J-drama esque tension lol. |

@Wrathberry84 hi! I've just checked a few chapters from the manga and actually he kissed her in the stairs when she had her birthday cake, and not at the swimming pool shower. But it doesn't change anything, he still kissed her out of nowhere without consent. from what I've seen it seems they are changing a few things, let's see how this evolves. but from what i've seen in the manga so far, i think i might drop this anime in a few episodes |

@Wrathberry84 That’s true, the "mystery" remains—where could they be now? Especially since she had that flashback when she saw a girl with four boys, just like it was with her. And it seems her life isn’t all that interesting now, although it looks like she really did become a mangaka since she’s been drawing forever. |

Covid was half a decade ago... where does time fly? Either way, really loved the art in this one, especially her eyes during certain moments, but I gotta agree with y'all about the guy being too pushy at the end. Shit's unpleasant but I feel like it will only devolve from here, which is a shame, the atmosphere also felt nice. |

Yup, that’s another anime set around Enoshima, they even used the famous Slam Dunk level crossing on the Enoden line at Shichirigahama! 2 extra points on my rating for that. Balanced out the fact that it’s basically a dating sim that I don’t get to make choices in, -2. Still, the art is excellent even if not moving much. Not sure I’ll enjoy a reverse harem, but I’m up for anything. Saddens me to be alive in a time when people are so sensitive they call a spontaneous kiss sexual harassment, the human race will die out in a few generations if that attitude continues. Seems like lots of MAL users share that opinion so I’ll put it down to a case of people who never go out and have no interactions with others. |

Kizuki trying to go chad. He will not accept relegation to childhood friend zone or surrogate little bro zone. Come right out and confesses, and follows up with attempts to increase connection. Meanwhile it is the Mizuho being dense (likely intentionally so) this time, imagining he is just kidding around. The way his face brightens when he sees her show real emotion. But, his frustration builds quickly and leads him to be overly aggressive, clearly over the line, in short order. Hopefully he will not scare or offend her too much or poison their future relationships.
And some squeally fan girls "I can't even breath when we make eye contact"
"They're so pure."

Likely it will be my favorite shoujo of the season.

@LordCrueltyV This so far is the best Rom Com of the Season, but that isn't really saying much. I miss last Winters' A Sigh of Affection with more mature college students ( mostly, the one exception in there for a little drama..) was welcome. Hakkaido Gals was good too, but never got to the real romance in a 12 episode Season. Still, so far this Genre has been lacking compared to last. I'm still hoping though. |

but the beginning was still the main girl in the future right?
and in the future it kinda seems like her life sucks and she is not together with anyone of the boys?
isnt this a bit counterproductive if you show the viewer in the beginning of the show, that she wont be with any of the love interests in the future?

@Wrathberry84 Yeah, i thought it had time-travel stuff too, but when i looked it up, it actually doesn't involve any kind of supernatural elements. It's just that the first few seconds was giving us a view of her future. Like how in the first episode of the Boruto series, we get a scene that's so far into the future, then the original series starts. Something like that. Just a peek into the future for the viewers, nothing more. |

Pool shower kabedon was hot. If they did switch the timing of the kiss from the manga, like someone else mentioned, I think the anime studio made a great decision. Also just here to echo what others have said, that kiss really wasn't forced at all. Spontaneous? Yes. But forced? Absolutely not. That was a textbook shoujo two-page spread, I could totally imagine that as a CG unlock moment from an otome... it was clearly super romantic and I feel genuinely confused by the amount of people calling this sexual harassment and breaching boundaries. Not to mention the difference in culture; like in Japanese romance/otome, the way Kizuki grabbed Mizuho's hand so tightly to stop her from leaving would be seen as really fucking cute (it was), as would the reverse of Mizuho tugging on Kizuki's sleeve - and I've already talked about the kabedon. For all the lack of animation in this show, that had me absolutely flustered, as did the "I'm confident that you'll fall in love with me eventually" line (I can count infinitely how many times I've heard it in otome games, and it gets me every time!). Not to mention this is all played up because, you know, it's idealized + romanticized fiction. I guess I'll be over here blushing and giggling and kicking my feet, enjoying some potentially trashy shoujo, while you all argue about lack of consent and being creepy. But what do I know, I'm just a girl who plays lots of otome games, reads a shoujo manga every now and then, and occasionally touches grass lmao. |

@cooldogmom i watched the scene again, and would say its an edge case. Its not about the spontan kiss. But he kinda pushed her in a corner. She was not obviously into it and even said that she didnt see him as a man yet. Then she was "pushed" on the wall so she couldnt really get away and he kissed her. I wouldnt go so far to say that its 100% sexual harrasment but i still think he pushed it a lil too far. And no im no virgin and im also no part of gen z xD |
