The behavior and chemistry between a giant and those kids is kinda interesting. This season's first episode didn't have as much as impact as the first season's but imo still had the similar vibes. Familiar characters like Kuuro and Kyunee also returns. Curious how far they'll adapt the tournament that's been in the talks. Either way, this serves as a setup and reintroduction of the series. |

Novelist Keiso's Ishura is back for the sequel after last Winter's showing, and the Holy War is only getting more competitors. The Great Particle Storm threatening the people's lives in the Yamaga Great Desert, that is quite the spectacle to start with a preface. The Shura story of Mele the Horizon's Roar, the gigant archer who's the protector of Sine Riverstea and only lazes day and night to be watched over by kids residing in the nearby village, he's their confidante who can unleash destructive power with his stellar shots. The Old Kingdom Royalists chasing the Shura of leprechaun detective Kuuro the Cautious and homunculus Cuneigh the Wanderer to kill them, both of them get through with the former's Clairvoyance to reach Aureatia's 17th Minister of Elea the Red Tag, because his inclusion as part of the tactical group of Obsidian Eyes makes him quite the target. And despite Kuuro's worries, there's Soujirou the Willow-Sword to handle the monster. The War shakes once again with more characters being part of the Holy War... |

HA, you thought just because it's a new season we'd ACTUALLY get to the tournament? HAHAHAHA no. Like wtf???? We spent legit the WHOLE last season introducing characters, and a lot at that as well. So why THE HELL ARE WE STILL INTRODUCING MORE CHARACTERS???? This episode we got two characters, one being this gigant archer who meets this boy who is basically straight up calling dude lazy... lol. Something about a storm he senses as well or whatever. Meanwhile, we got who seems to be the poster boy of the season, the leprechaun spy Kuuro, who's getting chased around the town he's in for whatever reason. Yeah, it's obvious these two are going to be in the tournament, duh yeah. I'm just hoping we get to see some PROPER tournament arc this season, and it's not just a whole bunch of character introductions AGAIN. Hell, I'd even take half the season of each... just whatever please. |

LETS FUCKING GOO. The goat battle royale anime is back. All the characters and abilities in the first cour blew me away I’m so hype. They still dragging out the damn tournament though 😭 but I enjoyed Mele’s introduction way more than I expected. He’s one of the kindest and most wholesome people we’ve been introduced to. Genuinely awesome fella, massive in size and heart. It’s cool that there’s SOME people who aren’t just out for greed in this world and actually want to protect people. MY GOAT SOUJIROU BACK LETS GOO. I see the cgi still sucks ass though lmao, but they didn’t just show Soujirou taking on the giant Wurm for nothing. Remember he also took out the giant golem in episode 1, so he’s a master of beating massive opponents. Right after we get introduced to Mele..? Death flag lol. Kuuro was meh. We’ve had enough of the edgy assassin types in this show. Hopefully by the end of the season we actually see the tournament start!! |

Here's the paradox, this anime is really good at character introduction, there's no denying in this fact, but do we need two seasons of character introductions? It's probably one of very few anime that I know the background of all characters but don't know what the anime is actually about. This is the equivalent to spending hours in character creation but not actually play the game. With that said, that giant is hot, usually the size difference is my kink but he's just too big, but he's also worth dying for LOL. |

A good start still setting up the cast. Will we have the tournament this season or more betrayal? |

The first episode kicks off with solid action and world-building, maintaining the intensity that fans expect. However, it doesn't do much to elevate the story beyond what was established in the first season. While the visuals remain impressive and the character dynamics engaging, the pacing feels uneven, and some moments lack impact. It’s a decent start that shows promise, but it’ll need more innovation to keep the momentum going. Fans of the series will likely enjoy it, but newcomers might not be immediately hooked |

@Marinate1016 @alpo42ab It's because there are a lot more characters. The tournament consists of 16 characters. And we only got 4 first season. The tournament starts at the end of volume 3 which should be ep 11-12. |

@phantomfandom I know what you mean. But knowing characters, their motivations and the world politics is essential to understanding the story. As the tournament isn't the only thing, even when it starts, there are a lot of politics shenanigans. Even those that lose in the tournament are important later on. Also the tournament is incredibly long, it starts at the end of vol 3 and still nowhere near completion by the end of vol 8 |

Great fucking episode. Really enjoyed it a ton. The animation was incredible and I enjoyed the fight vs the Wyrm a lot more than in the novel. Mele firing arrows was also hype to see, as I couldn't envision that in the novel. Also couldnt understand how he was able to stop the flood, but the anime made it more clear. Glad to see Kuuro, he is one of my favorite characters alongside Toroa, Kia, Mele and Shalk. And overall they adapted the episode well, considering they are adapting 2 volumes instead of 1 like last season, that's a great adaptation. Mind you, Ishura volumes are extra large, each is 350+ pages long, so there is more to adapt. |

This is off to a great start already. I like how they just gave us Soujirou in the first episode instead of having us wait. I wonder how much the characters from S1 will come into play since they are introducing a bunch of new ones though |

Ok Ishura is back! We again got introduced to new characters. Mele the Horizon Roar a gigant archer capable of changing the terrain with a single shot from far far away, and Kuro the Cautious who sees all with his clairvoyance. There's also the Particle Storm which may be a natural weather? or perhaps something more? Is it worthy of being called a god? We also got some previous characters like Soujirou and Elea the red tag. Let's see how everything converges. This time, we also introduced another problem that Auretia needs to get rid of: the old kingdom loyalists. |

@Hirugiku I'm good with the world building other than the narrator doing the over long intro. I do think there will be more culling of the players before the tournament starts |

I’m ashamed to admit I did not catch this one weekly back in Winter 2024, but I eventually got to it in the spring and it ended up getting as high as a 9/10 from me, so I’m very happy it’s back and that I’ll be here every week this time around, I’m pretty hyped! And it’s interesting to hear we won’t even be getting to the tournament this season, I figured after the stuff with Lithia was done that the next big thing was the tournament, but this is apparently gonna be another cour of characters being introduced and world building, and there will probably be some other big conflict this time too, but I’m not complaining like some others here since I thought Season 1 was super cool despite there being no tournament, I’m excited just to be getting more of this world because it’s so interesting. And after that poor little girl got disintegrated (gotta have something gruesome happen just like Season 1’s first episode lol), the two new characters we got were Mele and Kuuro, one is a giant and the other is a manlet, balanced as all things should be lol. I really liked Mele, he may look huge and scary but he’s a gentle giant, I loved his backstory with those kids, and the visuals of him shooting those giant arrows was sick, but knowing he’s supposed to be in this tournament has me fearing for him like every other character I like in this series lol. And then there was Kuuro and his pocket pixie Cuneigh, we don’t have much on these two yet besides that Kuuro has clairvoyance and he’s being hunted by the old kingdom’s loyalists, I’m looking forward to seeing more of him, as well as what characters return from Season 1 like Elea and Soujirou like we saw in this episode. And no OP and ED yet, but Season 1’s were bangers so I’m hoping these can at least hold a candle to them, man they were so good. |

people here casually not understanding that Ishura is a political thriller, not a tournament battle royale. The story of the multiple factions that want to use the tournament to further their on ends and how the Shura intertwine takes up 80% of the story; the tournament is the rest of that. Despite what people may think when they hear the false "battle royale" title, this is not a turn your brain off series; it is an epic saga that hasn't concluded its prologue yet, and won't for a while. In the novels (currently 8 that are officially translated) there are well over 50+ main characters that are just as important as each other, which complicated/intertwining backstories and relations include in over a dozen different factions. As of volume eight, the tournament is halfway through round two (of 4), but the entire story will likely take at least 15 volumes. Round 2 only has one match a volume, and that match is only one chapter, to put it into perspective. The political warfare is far more important, and even dead characters are constantly relevant due to impact. |

Super hyped for this season. I love seeing new parts of the world and new characters to broaden the horizon of what is possible in the show. We've seen in season one how powers can collide and create interesting interactions, so each new character adds to the chaos later on. Only then can we determine whether the setup was worth it. I'm tempted to pick up the light novel, but I'll wait until season two is done airing. |

So what happened to the little girl? Did she just die in the sandstorm? Other than that, I really like it. |
