personally, did not enjoy this anime
@yveltalkyogre well it looks like neither one of us did. There were just several issues I couldn’t seem to get past and by the end of it the resolution was so muted that I continued to feel the same as I did from episode 1. Which is that these 2 children need serious psychiatric care and healing. I think where I struggle the most with this anime is being a parent myself I just find it almost beyond belief that neither of our mc’s parents seems to recognize in ANY way just how disturbed their children really were. Anyway, you can’t love every show ya watch. 😊

I thought this was a fanservice bait anime at first but when I gave it a chance, I was pleasantly surprised.

I liked how grounded the anime was, characters emotions and their development felt believable and understandable, the slow pacing was fitting for the personality of the main duo, especially considering the show deals with the mundane daily life as a setting.
I appreciate how voice acting wasn't melodramatic and there were little to no exaggerated "anime reactions" involving the main duo. While such things can be fun when done right, the more calm and semi-monotone dialogue was more fitting for this show in particular, it made even subtle smiles and expressions stand out which made for a good storytelling tool. The Senpai and the school friend were more energetic and lively which was a good contrast showcasing the difference in personalities and expressiveness.

Although the ending wasn't as satisfying as I hoped, overall, it was well written and executed. There were some minor plot conveniences at the end but, it didn't affect the quality of the show much.

As for the morality of the subject, that's another discussion different from the quality of production. I will say though the anime did a good job in presenting itself as something more than a cheap kink fantasy like how most of these shows tend to be.

Not usually a fan of incest but this was pretty good. It definitely helped that Yuta was a good mc. I kinda wished that Saki was the one to confess tho

Hidden gem from Summer 2024. I expected nothing yet received some of the most poignant and intelligent character dialogue in recent memory.

It's incredible what Souta Ueno, a seemingly unknown director, was able to do on this passionate adaptation. Even the fabric filter was growing on me.

EP 9 is an easy Episode of the Year candidate.

Didnt expect to see Deen delivering an anime that looks good and IS good and even a good adaptation based on og readers comments.

The only flaw is that it feels I only just finished the prologue of the story. I hope we will get more.

i was about to give it a 7 but the ending alone propelled it to 8 .Never expected a tinge of reality in an incentuous relationship without letting the charm die .It balanced different emotions some even polar opposite magnificently.A good portion of my heart want a s2 ,thereby putting forth a happy conclusion but on the other hand it may make it another run of the mill show .So iam ok with a sort of open end with the two vouching for a clearer future for them to find...

Possibly the most surprising title in the season for me, not because it is ground breaking nor extraordinare, but because in the early episodes it felt quite a bit pretentious and gimmicky with the setting, but it definitely won me over around mid point (it was the complete opposite of Ayla hides her feelings in Russian that fell pretty hard for me even before reaching the mid point).

Anywho, the minimalistic cinematography and interesting framing in most indoor scenes was quite entertaining. Really liked both Yuta and Saki as well as their parents and other support characters (specially Maaya). The piano tunes and sometimes monologues with no bgm were very immersive in both protags' thoughts (reminded me of Gone Baby Gone movie and it's split protagonism).

I conccur with @perseii My only gripes were Kaho that felt like an author insert that poped out of nowhere just to serve as personal support for Yuta to move on with his personal struggles. Same for the weirdo ethics teacher that somehow had already heard the whole story of Saki from Shiorin's perspective (that's still a very limited bystander in Yuta & Saki's story). Still, this one really gets a 8.5/10 from me for it's thematic and like I previously said limited but well done cinematography.

That ending kinda broke me ngl, the piano at the end just does it for me. I just feel sad that they had to compromise.

In need of season 2. 8/10

At least their last talk had any sense, finally a normal understandable conversation and behaviour still they acted like 14 years old not 17 years old in current times.
But overall anime was just very bad.. bad animation (like no eyes drawn) stupid fill up scenes like potted flower or window proves this anime has nothing to show, bad dialogues that show author @mikawaghost doesn't know how real life people talk, must be a hikikomori and likely young one but couldn't find his age as his surname is pseudo ghost likely don't want to be public..
Worst anime I watched this season and a total disappointment.

I hate it when anime/manga that I enjoyed ends, especially when there could be much longer plot and when I love main heroine :P

I wish I had magic glasses that let me see real world in anime colors ;)

Final episode of the series. Yuta confesses to Saki about his feelings for her. She reveals hers too. Together they will carry this burden together without compromising their parents' happiness. So how would they fare? Somehow the ending leaves us with this dilemma.

Will there be a season 2 to address this?

This was truly beautiful and special. Solemn, quiet, breathable, tense and anxious. I couldn't recommend it enough. Might be the hidden gem of the year to me at least.

This is my 3rd anime with piano theme that can touch my feeling. The ending is enjoyable, make sense, and i got that emotion between them. Of course i curious what will happen after this but with Saki and Yuta hold they feel each other and Yuta brave himself to tell his true feeling was a salute for me. On that conversation too they not like immediately became a couple but they try to figure it out together with they feeling and not forget that they still a sibling ( or i can say that they still understand about the boundary soo they still can not going that far just like couple do ). Really nice ending and make sense ending for me. The last word " Tomorrow and tomorrow " like have a deep meaning about them. I'm so happy with the ending and the value on this anime. Of course if it have a Season 2 that would be nice ☺ ...

So peak, like foreal so fucking peak.

Beautifully written from start to finish.

Going against the spicy premise to deliver something realistic yet so wonderful, bravo.

Probably not your average MAL users cup of tea though going by the score.

Yeah, yeah. Everything is peak now. Even this average show is called peak. Now, I’ve seen everything. You guys don’t know what quality is. Next, people will say k-dramas or Bollywood movies are peak, I guess.

Amazing anime. Was not expecting such quality. It's a step up on "taboo" themes, even though they're not blood related.
It actually tries to seriously deal with what's happening. The two main characters talk a lot to each other, and this is so important - in life and of course in anime.

A very nice drama. This two people have a lot to deal, a lot of depressing feelings and thoughts within them. It's so good they can rely on each other and talk to one another.

But I guess it's really not something the usual anime community would like.
Even though it's not the same, it has some drama and psychological stuff that in a way reminds me of kuzu no honkai or Aku no Hana.
Also maybe, on another tonality, a little bit reminded of koi wa amaeagaru...

Amazing anime. Might even read the novel.

Also, worth noting: this anime tries to step up in taboo themes. In this case, the "incest". But got to say, in episode 4 or something. They're walking together and talking, and I never thought I would see a conversation that touches the issue of gender identity, preconceptions made about a person's behavior based on their gender etc in a anime like this. And its not a big deal. Just a topic for conversation. No need to create a big agenda for it. Just put it There and let's talk about it.

Very very good. Hidden gem

They finally turned into a couple eh.

I was expecting a SoL for a step-sibling relationship to bloom into a couple relationship. I got that but, never expected the show will be deep, and complex.
And it kinda turned me off. I don't like it, but I still continue watching this until the end. It's beautiful in some way, but feels painfully slow to watch. Their movements,
Their actions, even the way they talk, feel slow, which is a bit irritating. But even so, I enjoyed this show.

Too bad that Asamura didn't end up with Shiori. She's more suited for him. She's beautiful, lively, and fun to be with.

I won't be watching a sequel or it's worth rewatching as the characters talk about deep and heavy stuff which I don't get and think it's unnecessary to the story.

I...am flabbergasted that Deen managed to come out with something like this. I was expecting some drama or fanservice bait, so I was really nervous going in, but it's done very very well, from direction to art. The emotion (and often, the lack of one) really comes through in many scenes and many muted scenes were done quite well. I want to see more, but I won't get my hopes up given that this type of show generally does not get another season.

do you know what you are saying? , failed ??!!
how failed , do you know how many sales books because of the anime adaptation, do you know it has award best adaptation on anime corner
failed ?
And you didn't read , so read first before you speak , because when an adaptation from LN
you have some moments you don't have to focus on , but the director ueno worked very well on it, and the author mikawaghost who said that by him self that he loved the adaptation so , I respect you but if you didn't get the show I respect that, it'snot for everyone, but atleast respect these people who worked really well and try to think about this show more because it'snot anime it's ahard slice of life, drama , romantic
and wait for season 2 , if there is an announcement because what happens in it is real unforgettable

@MineFord_gurme @Ahmedpower Dont be upset. I didnt said the adaptation was bad. I gave it a 7.4/10. Imo, it lacks something that my poor language cant explain it further for you. I like the show tbh. The direction and pacing of the show was really good. The interactions between characters are interesting and somehow realistic... Watching this show I feel relax.
When I said decent, I want it to be 8.5/10 at least, and that would be the score I think I would give for the source material. Clearly just 12 eps cant convey all the essence so it's not all the fault of the studio. However, it still not perfect like I just said. I wish it was adapted just a little bit better.
Btw, "failed to" I really dont mean it was hasrh like failure or trash
And yes, the show is for me, I get it all. Thanks. Dont be so superior like to tell me I have to respect person A, person B, to this to that bla bla. Please I know it, they worked really hard and I respect them. But we need to be honest here: If this adaptation was perfect, or peak like many said, why it only got 7.37 on MAL? And meanwhile the source material is 8.19? 7 is not a bad score you know? This means it good but not enough.
Yeah I know MAL rating is not reliable but at least it still a fact that many people have the same opinion as me.
This is getting too long now, thanks for your opinion. I respect your opinion and I appreciate that you take your time to explain for me.

Well my reaction to the last episode was: meh. The problem is once again, that most of the supporting characters who might have a thing for the protagonist are much more interesting that his little sister, who basically only has the looks. Nothing too special but worth watching if you like the genre. 6/10 I guess.
